I've got a question for Alicization in general:

I've seen the word "protected" used around a lot when talking about the gods. Is it a stylistic choice, because "blessed" seems more appropriate in some sentences when the context is about a physical benefit coming from the gods.
If you got sick of the world, and made it better to gain some peace of mind, would you be selfish or selfless?

Yeah this time the hints went far enough to finalize it for me that we really are talking about IS and that Kirito will somehow learn to use it properly.
Anyone know when this was written, what part of AW was already out? how does it fit together in the timeline of both stories being published

One thing I don't like about Alicization so far is that he hints to much to future developments in "Kirito thinks to himself" sentences.
I see no point in it and it usually just feels annoying (at least for me) to read fragmented thoughts/premonitions of a character

Spoiler! :
But Kirito thinking to himself is one of the more... fun parts about his character and the story! I enjoy a lot those parts with him thinking to himself, aside from the calculations that he seems to like doing.

I like him thinking to him self , I don't like it being half thoughts ... that's my whole point :)
So many times where he goes "oh well , not sure why I thought that" and stops in the middle

Actually I really like how he made Kirito way of thinking. It makes Kirito looks sharp...
well, just see the anime one. I get the feeling that Kirito isn't that sharp just because the anime didn't show most of his 'thinking' mode

Yeah the anime really abused the "carefree" character of Kirito , It's like he stumbled upon the ranks of strongest without much effort or thought - makes me sad :(
Spoiler! :
And well thinking "Maybe I shouldn't make this sword and bury it in the forest ... oh wait I have no basis for this thoughts so I'll do it anyway" feels weird to me.
But seems I'm alone with that , so I'll suck it up and continue on :)

That's one way of laying off hints for the future without revealing too much while at the same time keeping the readers on edge.

And why are we talking in spoilers again?

I actually enjoyed that part, merely because of the frustration it gives. Kirito is obviously ignoring his instinct again, something which we know for a fact that only lead to disaster.

at first I use it because someone might come here before realizing that part 4 has been updated. but people start responding in spoiler even when they are talking about Alicization arc in general

actually, almost what Kirito does always lead to some trouble. even when he is doing things alone like the one in the forest in vol 10 chapter 4 part 4. I must say that he is cursed :D
just like how Conan from Detective Conan always find corpse anywhere he goes, literally...

and really, twig > divine tools makes me laugh... especially when the crafter said that he will make a good sword that not even Divine tools can compare it :D

Oh, no. I'm referring to BCotFM level of disaster. He sensed that the trap was dangerous and let them open it anyway. Before that, in Rondo, he also sensed something wrong about Asuna's sword (which I'm sure having something to do with the blacksmith. Maybe he cheated or something)
