Vermiculo, & Sniper221 (Editor), I'll need a response (or better a completion percentage) to affirm if you're still working on the chapters you've registered. If not, I'll have to remove your names off the list. Tentatively, I'll do it on the 23th Feb.
Kaos93, as well.

It seems that translating the novel is getting faster than the past year. Thanks for the translator

Just some food for thought, though I'm not advocating we follow the Engrish exactly...

The official translation of the title seems to be "Bladedance of Elementaler."
At the very least, this suggests that in general, "spirits" should be "elementals" instead.
Not that I mind what we already have currently.

Uh Hello to all of you guys,

I just want to ask where can I find the recruitment thread for this Series or is it this thread already?

I want to help out as an editor for this series, and also I am kind of new to this site that is why I am asking you guys I still don't know how things work around here.

My understanding of English language is average and I can spot any typos and wrong grammars in the text.
I hope someone can give me some information. And I just read through some threads in this forum recently and I can't find the recruitment thread for this series, and I am very lucky to find this thread so soon. Thank you very much and Please help.
P.S. Feel free to PM me anything you want, oh, be as random as possible

zzhk, interesting, I've been considering changing spirit to elemental for quite a while but I've too lazy to try it out.

there's no recruiting thread. You're free to contribute your edits, however you can't put your name on the editor list. I'll be the deciding whose name gets on the editor list

Using elemental in place of spirit makes sense, given we already have elemental waffe and the Elemental Lords.
However, what about elemental contractor vs elementaler? Elementaler sounds kind of plain...

On a related note, let's discuss the issue of 精霊姫(spirit princess) which isn't in the Terminology thread.

Given existing titles which contain the term, it suggests that 精霊姫 should be translated as Queen instead?

災厄の精霊姫(カラミティ・クイーン) = Calamity Queen
喪失の精霊姫(ロスト・クイーン) = Lost Queen

Which does make sense, seeing as each Elemental Lord is served by a single 精霊姫, and Queen makes it clear that it's a rank above the princess maidens (姫巫女).

Normally you'd use Elementalist.

For seireihime, I'd suggest Elemental Keeper or something.

I also foresee jokes like: 'She's a real keeper, that one'

It's fascinating. When most people try to use a language they're unfamiliar with, they'd use a dictionary, or ask someone who speaks that language. When the Japanese want to use a language they're unfamiliar with, however, they seem to just make it up as they go along.

Also, +1 to florza's "Elementalist". "Elementaler" is a crime against nature.

I wonder if I can just jump in and start translating anything that's not registered yet? I've been lurking on Baka-Tsuki for a while now and suddenly created both an account on the main site and the forums, and I'm so new that I can't even send a PM to the supervisor, KuroiHikari, asking for permission to work on Seirei Tsukai.

I also kind of already registered one chapter...

EDIT: Not sure how Baka-Tsuki translating works exactly. Here's my translation: http://sakura-shards.com/en/light_novels/read/3. (Yeah, it was finished in the same day it was started; I spent like the entire day just working on this x_x.)

EDIT 2: Now I've made a blog just for this kind of thing: http://sakurahonyaku.wordpress.com/. Not sure if I have to add the text somewhere (where?) but I have 9, 10 and the epilogue up on the blog now...

Not bad, I've looked at it briefly and comparing it to what I remember. Anyway, I can't do much till I get home.
You're quite fast I've to admit. Go ahead and finish V4 if you're up to it. If you don't mind working on the older chapters, I'll allow you to overwrite your name there.
