In essence it can no longer update or acquire new novels ( I don't know when I first noticed this but it's been less than 3 months ).
Well I don't have this issue. Even now the LN get updated regularly and new chapters are also added with no problem. It would be good if you can post exactly what kind of error the update says when it tries to update and also add your phone model android version and app version( because there is also a beta channel). Like this Nandaka has it easier to locate error

Do you have a tracker for public submission by the way? :D
I deleted it from the main LN list and after refreshing the list it reappeared so I think it might be an isolated case

It is loaded in my device, as long it is listed in http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index ... _(English) for English translated novel, it should be shown in the list.
Try to manually refresh the list in the Light Novel List activity (Overflow menu -> Refresh).

I keep getting the error "Wrong Version of Key Store" when updating/downloading any chapter - this only happened after the last update. Is this on my end? Or is it something on the app end?

Try to disable "Load App Keystore" from Settings -> Update and Notification. If another error show up, try to disable "Use HTTPS" too.

Can you post the screen shot to imgur? Because I can see just ok for the light theme http://imgur.com/a/hlXKz
It seems I had somehow toggled the dark theme, I guess. I can read it all fine now. However, I still need paging for this to be a good reading experience on my device.

I made a Vine to show why: https://vine.co/v/MTHaMUXi2vO

Thanks. I misremembered the details. Previously, the synopsis wasn't loading at all. But it works now.

This is what I'm getting when i try to update from the main menu which prompted me to post:

Update status: Last Run: Sat Jun 21 21:45:08 PDT 2014
Status: ERROR==>HTTP error fetching URL

Reader version: 1.1.17b (20140519)
Android version: 4.2.2 rooted
Phone: Nexus 4

It seems to be able to update novels now but I am still missing Mokushiroku Arisu which is why I made other assumptions.

I been using the app for over a year now I believe, never had issues with it other than the crashing when tilting phone back and fort.

I am counting about 92 novels for the main category, it should be 114.

Just tried deleting the app and installing it again, biggest mistake I ever made, now I am truly unable to acquire any novels.

Same error, this sucks I may have to drag my tablet to school now to be able to read = / ( this is my not online backup in case anything gets taken down ).

update: Obviously shitty situation to be in so I went and started testing setting and actually enabled this two:

"Load App Keystore" from Settings -> Update and Notification. If another error show up, try to disable "Use HTTPS"

I think all 114 projects are showing up, just have to dl them all again probably but yay, I was starting to get worried since reading on my commute to school is one of my favorites times.

final update: yup enabling those 2 settings did get everything working flawlessly again, thank god. I believe when I first approached the app http was not enabled and was causing all this problems. I don't believe I was responsible for that and in my previous installation it was the same except when I tried enabling it the results were failure.

Not feature for that, and fyi: Suzumiya Haruhi is licensed so baka tsuki remove the novel.

Why not using pdf reader?
Well its rather small as I am reading on my phone, not to mention a pain in general since I read in bed. Thats why I asked as it would be so much simpler in the reading forms we see in the app

Some (i) symbols have appeared beside some of the novels and chapters on my phone. When I open them, it says "Content might be updated" followed by some dates and times. What does this mean? I tried searching and couldn't find anybody else talking about it.

Also, what does "force run update" mean? I can't tell what it does...

Is there a way to download all chapters of novels I add on my watch list or at least somehow tell whether I'm missing some chapters without checking it one by one?

Try to disable HTTPS from the Settings -> Update & Notification -> Network. The novel is visible in my device.

1. Baka Tsuki uses intermediate certificate which not included by default in Android.
2. I tried to create a Key Store to include the cert in the app, but for some reason, some android cannot read this. I'm using 4.3 CM10.2 btw. There is another solution, that is by installing the intermediate cert as user cert in your device, in this case you only need to tick the Use Https.

Check Settings -> Update and Notification -> Auto Download Updated Chapter, I think this is self-explanatory.

the (!) mark just a notification to tell you that there is a possible update/content changes. You can update the chapters by pressing the overflow menu -> Download All Chapters (this will include the not downloaded and update chapter).

Force run update = manually start the update service to check the updates from baka tsuki servers.

Using BakaReaderEx version 1.1.17b (20140519) on a galaxy s3 (Android ver 4.3).

Had an issue earlier today where it eating up my cpu somehow even while it was in the background. This would explain why my phone ran through it's battery unexplainably fast on a couple different occasions the past week or three. I haven't successfully reproduced the problem yet, but I'm fairly positive it was caused by a download hanging and never timing out or giving up.

A suggestion related to that problem: The ability to stop downloads via the download list would be nice. Currently if a download hangs I have to end the application and restart it.

Another suggestion: Would it be possible to handle zoom separately for pictures? I have zoom disabled because I don't want to zoom text even by accident, but this currently makes it so that I only have "to-fit" and "fully zoomed" available for pictures. I'd like to be able to gradually zoom in on pictures again without having to worry about not accidentally zooming in on text.

Aaaaand one last suggestion: Rather than simply inverting colors, would it be possible to pick a text and background color? In the dead of night pure white on pure black still strains the eyes. Being able to choose a slightly darker shade of white and a slightly lighter shade of black would be amazing. Using firefox (v26 for me) as an example what I do when reading on my computer is (tools-options-content-fonts & colors-Colors-Text and Background) set text to the box one under white and background to the one above black.

This app is most definitely the number one most used app on my phone so I figured I'd leave the suggestions and (possible) bug report.

You can set the time out in Settings -> Update and Notification -> Network section.

Will look into it, can you put the request in the GitHub: https://github.com/calvinaquino/LNReade ... state=open

You can use custom css, you can get the template in here: https://github.com/calvinaquino/LNReade ... e_dark.css
