Is anyone interested in translating the Phenomeno novels? I have scans of the four volumes. I was planing on translating them myself, but that would be a couple of years in the future because I don't know japanese so good right now.
It's unlicensed, likely never to be licensed. I'd honestly be happy if someone else wanted to translate it. The novels are really interesting and illustrations by Yoshitoshi ABe are just beautiful. In interenet there is a translation of the first two chapters, but the project was frozen for over a year.
There is also free visual novel by Nitro+ which include only first chapter.
Synopsis:
Yamada Nagito, a university student living away from home, needing a cheap place to live he finds out about a mysterious “House that grants wishes” on the market for a ridiculously low rent; he snaps up the house and starts living there. Afew nights in he starts hearing strange creaking noises. Each and every night he’s assaulted by these torturous noises. The last straw is when he finds the number 7 carved into the wall, as if counting down to something. Yamada having an interest in the occult seeks help from a website he frequently visits: “Ikaigabuchi”, which specialises in occult topics.
BTW why can't we post links to legal raws. If its the website where you are supposed to view the raw, then why not? Linking isn't a crime, and neither is viewing a legal raw?

It is punished by the law, though. BT forbids that to avoid being quickly and massively targeted by the JP publishers.
BTW, it seems that a VN adapts the 1st volume of Phenomeno. The text seems to be the same as the LN's, and IIRC, an English translation exists for this VN (as a French one was posted some months ago).
Played a bit of the VN and I love the feeling it gives, though I originally thought it was a VN, I'd be more than happy to see the LN volumes translated

Just read the VN and looked all over the internet to find a translation of the LN. It's by far the best LN/VN I have read in a long time.
I would really love to see it translated. I'm from South America and know dozens of people who would like to read it too, so I would like to translate it to spanish, but I don't know any japanese, so I need an english translation to do it.
I would deeply appreciate if you could please translate at least the remaining chapter from the 1st volume. I'm not sure how, but I would try to help you in any way I can.
I recently looked at the first volume of Phenomeno (there's apparently 6 volumes by now in Japanese) that was translated into English at the Suiminchuudoku website. Man, it's a really good light novel and I really want to see more translated. Unfortunately, the person at Suiminchuudoku who was working on it has become almost completely inactive (both Phenomeno and Zaregoto translations are inactive since 2014).
I created an English page for Phenomeno at Baka-Tsuki to encourage further translation by new translators (you can see I labeled the project "stalled", because it is): https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/inde ... =Phenomeno
I realize it's not much, but I don't understand why some translators are wasting their time on uninteresting series when that time could be better spent on translating novels like Phenomeno. Yeah, I'm sure it has to do with taste, but surely somebody is willing to pick this up, right?
Damn it , this novel's gotta be translated. I don't know why phenomeno is not getting translated.
Obviously, there ain't no problem with the novel , the problem is the small readership.
I think we guys ought to spread phenomenon's fame.
Unless we do something this brilliant novel would never be translated.

I'll edit if you haven't gotten anybody already. Fluent English and I know enough Japanese to get by already, but not enough to efficiently translate. Currently on the Mahoyo project as an FR translator.
I made an account just to say thank you to the translator and editor for picking up and continuing this project! I read the last chapter of volume 1 today and loved it, I am very excited to see more. Thank you for your hard work!
