Western titles turned anime

Post by shichinanatsu »

been surprised in a good way, seeing that big names like Halo, Wolverine, and Iron Man are given that distinct Jap flavor. that being said, i can't help but wonder how Halo's anime doesn't feel quite right (though admittedly i've only read the novels, never had the chance to play the game)

other than that, samurai Wolverine and mecha Iron Man are too damn badass 8) i guess this'd fulfill my need for action, since FMP's a long time coming..

Nice, i remember reading the mangaverse comic of mavel characters, i still got the comic somewhere.... but it was a fun and nice change, but after watching all three only the iron man one was any good.

the Iron man one was done well probably because it fits pretty well into two Japanese anime genre, mainly Tokusatsu and mecha.

It has a nice predecessor in the classic Guyver scene and the wearable powersuit mecha genre of appleseed/bubblegum series, yet they didn't have to change much to the core essential of the Iron Man image.

The most recent series being the Karas one, where they combined real-life motion data to give it a more realistic human animation.

Wolverine......well I think they just got confused altogether, i mean...a samurai? it reminds me of dragonball and afro-samurai.....
anyway, never did like wolverine, arrogant S.O.B....

As for Halo..... well.....I was amazed at the numbers of animation studios involved, its like they just grabbed anyone....

and put them altogether in a compliment.

I mean, Bones, Production I.G. of the two big names I saw, how can you not stick to just one? i mean the various snips of footage shows lack of consistency in the quality, the style and pace of the animation.

I'm not surprise the trailer is disappointing alot of the halo fans, i say just pick one (production I.G please!) and let them handle the whole lot.

don't do this Robotech thing again!

@Oni: my thoughts as well, too many cooks spoil the broth. also, i just don't get the "guy meeting girl in garden" scene, Halo just doesn't have anything like that - to the best of my knowledge. I'm actually surprised they didn't bother with Gundam masters Sunrise, perhaps even Gainax; to think they'd include Toei is mind-boggling (Key disappointments like Kanon anime and Clannad movie come to mind)

hmm that explains the free halo anime poster i was given. anyway i just check out the trailers now.

iron-man is mecha but still the bad-guys mecha is too animish. i want more iron-man reborned- baddies designs.

wolverine. mullet. i hate it

halo. i guess is decent. i would consider it non-canon like they did with batman gotham knight. i mean i read every single official stories of halo novels and comics but this just feels off. espically the typical girl in the wheel-chair point gun blank with spike hairs. still gonna give it a go and since i am a halo chronologist

Thanks for the reminder about that series. I just queued it just for kicks to see how good/bad it truly is.
