Seeing Lisbeth's apron, it is RWS on it, could it possibly be Rizbeth Weapon Shop?

Re: Sword Art Online - Names and Terminology
Waiting for the anime's airing is a better solution. It's only one month to wait, and there will be a lot of free time in summer to change everything.

Re: Sword Art Online - Names and Terminology
Unless it's handled by fansubbers who take the names from the current novel translations.
Or if it's shown in katakana.
Both which would bring us right back where we started from...
At the very least, shouldn't we settle on Lisbeth's? Seeing as Kawahara Reki recently co-published a book on that name on the cover and all...
Well, it would be much more convenient to change them all at the same time, though.

Re: Sword Art Online - Names and Terminology
Like I said before, if SAO is licensed in France, I'll ask the company if the names they will use are confirmed by the production committee. That way, there will be no doubts at all, since the author himself is participating a lot in the anime's production.
I'll keep an eye on the names' spelling, that's not a problem.

It will be way too late.Misogi wrote:Like I said before, if SAO is licensed in France, I'll ask the company if the names they will use are confirmed by the production committee.
Let's change them now based on the ME:
Cline = Klein.
Egil = Agil.
Lizbeth = Lisbeth.
Scilica = Silica.
Cradil = Kuradeel.
If they are different in the anime we will change them to what is used.

Re: Sword Art Online - Names and Terminology
Late? For a simulcast? I don't think that it's important to change the names now. At least, it's better to wait and to be sure of the changes.
If we have to do them, time isn't a problem, since we'll change everything one day, for sure. Well, that day could be in one month, it's not really far from now.
Note: My motive isn't laziness, even if I'll have to change everything in the French project. It's just that we aren't sure at 100% of the changes, hence the discussion.

http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/image ... 04-005.jpg Could anyone check the name on the coat of arms hanging on the wall behind them? The words seems too short to be Lisbeth

And that...is one reason why I hate translating vague names...Khruechev, Croitsef? Why can't people just stick to John and Jane Doe...seriously...

Re: Sword Art Online - Names and Terminology
According to the emblem and RWS, I assume it's Rizbe's Weapon Shop, short of Rizbet or Rizbeth.
But Tap's post also reminded me about the doujin Kawahara-sensei wrote in collaboration with ponz.info doujin circle, Sword Art Online Lisbeth Edition, which had just released 2 weeks ago (of course, no copy of it on the internet as usual).

So we have 2 version of her name, one is clearly written Lisbeth by Kawahara himself, but only exist in doujinshi; and another version 'Rizbet(h)' in the dengeki bunko version, which maybe just the miscommunication between Kawahara-sensei and abec-sensei.
However, Vaelis, the SAO project admin decided to use Lisbeth as her name, I already changed those name in all my works to match the new guidelines.

Actually, if you look at the font used for this cover, the S really can't be distinguished from Z due to the curved lines. It could be either Lizbeth or Lisbeth, and looking back at the official art, it really looked like a Z - Says MAD as he stealthily adds confusion to the discussionBeginnerXP wrote:According to the emblem and RWS, I assume it's Rizbe's Weapon Shop, short of Rizbet or Rizbeth.

S Z <-- the curves aren't in the same direction, it's not possible to confuse themM.A.D wrote:Actually, if you look at the font used for this cover, the S really can't be distinguished from Z due to the curved lines.
