Re: Accel World
Folks, I will not be deleting AW for the following reasons.
1. My main aim is complete. Publicizing the website is a downside to this, but I sent a clear message that we do not agree to people profitting off our works. The guy might be gleeful thinking that we made publicity, I don't care. Will he get the donations he desperately need? That's the issue. If people are going to donate to his website, God bless them.
2. There is still a poll running on Baka Tsuki. With a sizeable lead of 217 votes (and the 2nd+3rd+4th total only barely beats out AW), I see no reason to force the readers to revote for another LN. Also, this will (hopefully) help to dispel the 'conspiracies/trolling' that the 'BT admins hate Accel World'. I do like AW more than SAO, btw.
3. There were recent contributions earlier in the day-- Volume 12. I can't just delete the work like 20 hours after it was just uploaded...
4. We may be having more than 1 translator joining the project. I don't want to restrict them from translating something they want to work on. Ultimately, the main thing is that we do not control our translators. Each translator has their rights to choose whatever projects they want to work on, and I do believe in granting them the rights even though I may or may not agree to some of our projects. This is what makes Baka-Tsuki a Translation Community, not a fansub group as most will like to assume. We host translations, we do not host a fansub group.
If all goes to plan, we might have 3.
Also, at the end of the day, if you don't like the stories or translations, don't read it. This is not a lecture or a tutorial, you are not forced to read through them.

Re: Accel World
Gee, what the heck happened?
I am still slowly working on volume 3 chapter 13 by the way. Other than busy with life and the drop in motivation from this incident, it will be done in a week or so.
Glad to have new translators, but wondering why they are starting so far ahead, ah well hope people understand it.
Edit: Forgot about that Neuro Linker and BIC thing. As far as I understand it, the Neuro Linker is a computer that you wear on your neck and once taken off, nothing remains on you body. The Brain Inplant Chip thing is an earlier version of the Neuro Linker, which stays in your brain forever. BIC allows for more hax by the way.

@ping: who forces you to listen to lectures and read tutorials? ^^
Who's the third?
Yeah, more or less don't want anything implanted in my neck. might need to reread to remember which is BIC and which is NeuroLink, I seem to have that confused.

Actually, he's referring to another 3, but only Eternal_Dreamer's confirmed for now.

Hurray, now I won't have to make a contract to wish that AW won't be deleted!Teh_ping wrote:Folks, I will not be deleting AW
By the way how far does the first volume of the light novel cover in the anime and in the manga? I would like to know how many episodes/chapters I should read before I start on volume 2; thank you in advance.

Re: Accel World
No, it isn't, Eternal_Dreamer has redone the two chapters in vol 1 quite a while ago.
The other 2 isn't confirmed, which is why ping went "If all goes to plan..."

Re: Accel World
Nice to see that vol.1 translation is resumed
. Thanks to whoever did it.
Now to my usual nitpicking...
1-7:

1-7:
Shouldn't it be 99%? That's what's written in 1-6.The compensation for using that transcendental effect, which accelerated not just one’s consciousness but also the physical body, was the loss of 90% of one’s Burst Points.

I think EternalDreamer missed that other "9".

Thanks for pointing that out, I must have missed it when I was translating. It's fixed now.Ushwood wrote:Nice to see that vol.1 translation is resumed. Thanks to whoever did it.
