Re: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: General
While reading the vol 8 ch 2:
All of a sudden, the <Instructional School> was destroyed in the span of a single night by an evil spirit of flames.
Could this possibly be Rubia?
from vol 2 ch 2:
Four years ago, while she had the position of Queen serving the fire Elemental Lord, she betrayed the Elemental Lord, disappeared, and brought about an unprecedented great calamity to the empire— The Calamity Queen.

I cba to comment about the editing changes because somehow I find it rather stupid to really go through all of them and make them right in english.
About the spirit ore/crystal thing, is there some image for it? When I read the word 'spirit ore', my 1st impression was literally ores imbued with spirit energy, but with the ores themselves being relatively unrefined. Spirit crystals literally portray the image of sharp edge-y colorful clear glassy-like substances that have been refined/shaped nicely.

Re: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: General
After reading the 1st volume, i immediately fall in love with this series and got into the list of my most favourite LN series
The story really reminds me of ZnT, the illustrations similar to HnA, and whenever i see Kamito's full name, i suddenly think of Kirito from SAO..
Currently in the middle of vol 6, and can't wait for the other translated volumes. If only i could understand japanese *mumbles*
Hoping that someone will make the vol 7 pdf soon, after the afterword finished being translated
Thank you for your effort, translators~ Keep up the good work, ganbatte!

Someone said the same thing. Like how Kamito was a mix of Kamijou and Kirito.Kumachi wrote:The story really reminds me of ZnT, the illustrations similar to HnA, and whenever i see Kamito's full name, i suddenly think of Kirito from SAO..

For Volume 8, Chapter 1.
<Page 39>
这时宵走过来了,在神人旁边坐下。
With that, Shao came over and sat on Kamito's lap.
According to the Chinese, it should be "Shao came over and sat next to Kamito."

You can either go ahead and make changes you feel are warranted, or bring them up at the translator's original blog. I don't think Mizuho really keeps an eye on things here.

Re: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: General
Yeah, that chapter needs a bit of a translation check. More glaring than that, there's the mistranslation of the first person pronoun 妾(warawa) as concubine. For Volume 8, Chapter 1.

Mizuho has made some revisions but he only updated the version on his blog.
On a separate note, I'd like some general opinions on two terms:
1) military-use (the closest literal meaning) which was shortened to military. A suggestion was made to use militarized but it hasn't been updated to the Terminology page. So, military or militarized?
2) The pointy eared race. Elfim or Elphim? (Just a spelling decision).

Re: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: General
I was scratching my head at the concubine part, but was too lazy to actually look up the Chinese translation.
I only looked up the Shao part because it seemed out of character.
The canon categorization of 军用精灵 is "Spirits used by military forces," correct? If so, then I prefer "Militarized" over "Military."
I prefer "Elfim." "Elphim" looks odd to me.
One thing I've been confused about since I've started reading the Chinese translation is "骸联盟." Any reason why it's translated as "Murders?"
And would you happen to have come up with translations of proper nouns for the stuff untranslated? >.>

Murders is the furigana for that Corpse Alliance/Federation whatever. Probably need to standardize and add it to the Terminology page as well.

Novel illustrations for Vol 10 have been added. Someone edit the nav bar to include Vol 10 for me.

Re: Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: General
I see. I wonder how hard it is to learn Japanese...
I remember a discussion about "十二骑将". Was the final decision "Numbers" rather than "Rounds?" Isn't it referring to "Twelve Knights of Rounds" or something?
I don't see it in the Terminology page, though it seems like one of the character names is referred to as a member of the Numbers.
And ugh, new proper nouns are popping up in Vol8Chapt5. =[
