I hope this series gets a anime soon, this novel is one of my favorite. Also, thanks to zzhk for his god like fast translation and mizuho as well.

I have but less common. + was referring more to 'Finals' as a stand-alone word. in any case, not like it matters much now since it has been changed.

probably around 15-30ish ch of manga is out..although anime has a reputation of not living up to the LN most of the time ._. well manga skipped the vol 1 ch 5 unless they put it in later ch as a flashback kind

決戦 also means final round, which is what the the Cross Fire stage is, rather than a single battle.

If you consider what happens the next day, the Cross Fire starts and all you get are a bunch of minor battles, all of them hardly decisive.

It is not until the first night of Cross Fire when a major battle takes place.
it did mention that it was the night before. tbh "The Night before the Decisive Battle" sounds better as compared to "The Night before the Final Round"

But that's exactly my point, there is no decisive battle. Unless you count Kamito cutting down forsaken spirits or Ellis vs Lily Flame as "The Decisive Battle."

Or if you consider Valaraukar as the decisive battle in question, then it would be the "Night Before the Night of the Decisive Battle" which is not what's written.

"The Night before the Decisive Finale"? 'Finale' being the concluding part of a performance or presentation fits nicely with the whole 'blade dance' theme.

Oh and while you do Mondaiji, please agree on names and terminology used with the other 2 TLs now since you're just starting to translate.

I noticed you just put Names and Terminology Guidelines while I was writing this  Hopefully you and the rest won't forget to abide to it :P
I noticed that problem when I started translating because I ran into 箱庭. It was like "What was this again? Box Garden? Tiny Garden?". Then I looked and it turned out they called it Little Garden. It's a good thing they haven't gotten too far into the series, so I didn't have to confirm too many of their usages.

On the topic of what to translate 決戦 to, couldn't "Decisive Battle" refer to the entire thing as one giant "battle"? As with "You may have won the battle, but you haven't won the war." albeit substituting "war" with "battle" on a larger scale.

so it's down to a matter if tl accuracy vs. reading preference? I go with tl accuracy.

IMO the 決戦 used contextually would likely refer more to Final Round rather than Decisive Battle, because Decisive Battle itself is singular (and Decisive Battles make the entire thing feel weird), while war feels a little awkward (because this is a blade dance). I've thought of 'Conclusive Round' but that itself sounds weird.
regarding the idea of 'Decisive Finale', I'd rather just go with 'The Night before the Finale'. The Decisive is a little out of place if we use 'Final Round/Finale'.

Finale, it is. I was looking for something vague that didn't really specify a round or anything like that.
Decisive Finale doesn't work because a Finale ought to be decisive, I guess conclusive is the better word.

hmm i get ur point. i suppose Final Round or Finale would suit it better since there really wasnt a peak in the battle situation, more like a mix of battles occurring at the same time all of which had a contributing factor to overall victory. im guessing the title is suppose to reflect a similar meaning to "calm before the storm" ?

Wooo! After a pretty long period of being busy with life issues, I am finally back!

I have also finally read finish volume 10! Really, works cannot describe how nice it was to finally see what happened at the end of volume 10.

And now it is time to go back to the excruciating wait for the next volume to be out and translated.

Anyways, thanks a lot to zzhk and mizuho for translating!
Don't you just love reading? I think it is one of the joys of life, where we can escape the cold reality of the world and exist in something so much more fun and exciting! ^_^

I find it odd how I worked on this series, but I haven't read volumes 9 and 10. Damn it!

You're missing out! Volumes 9 and 10 are so much more incredible compared to volume eight. Good work though, and thank you for going out of your way to bring us this content. Please keep up the good work :D
