Orange flames flickered above the dark ocean.

The armada controlled by the half elves of the Philosommelier Personal Empire seemed to part the sinking warships and flames on its way toward the Static Continent.

They had not escaped unscathed. In fact, more than a fifth of their ships were now below the waves.

But they still had more than 50 warships remaining.

The armada’s supreme commander – referred to as the admiral – was a slender boy who stood less than 1.2 esoule<ref>Approximately 144 centimeters.</ref> tall.

Of course, with the long-lived half elves, apparent age was an unreliable indicator.

“What is the next part of the plan?”

“After landing on the enemy coast, we will construct a beachhead. Destroying an existing harbor town and turning it into a fortress should be the quickest method. Once our troops and gear have been unloaded, it should take about half a day to reach the capital.”

The little admiral clicked his tongue slightly at the tall, slim half elf’s report.

“So we have to keep the emperor waiting until dawn.”

The shame showed clear on his face.

His expression said that winning wasn’t enough.

Leather audibly strained.

Hydras and chimeras standing more than 20 esoule<ref>Approximately 24 meters.</ref> tall were being equipped with mana-conducting silver armor as landing weapons. They were powerful but did not discriminate who they attacked. The landing force needed to secure a beachhead, but if released in the harbor town, those creatures would indiscriminately devour the humans, military and civilian alike.

They were 5000 esoule<ref>Approximately 6 kilometers.</ref> from land.

The lights of the harbor town were already visible.

Each one of those lights likely indicated a home. Had a black out not been put into effect because they were too peaceful to consider it or because they were too panicked to coordinate one?

The half elves knew what this meant as they spoke.

“The capital is one thing, but are we really going to attack an unrelated harbor town?”

“”Cast your personal conscience into the sea. The Joint Staff Chancellor has not yet contacted us to halt the attack.”
