Ayato was alone in the palace ceiling and directly above the empire’s consul guest quarters.

“This should do it.”

He carefully operated his crystal tarot cards.

Having his friends with him would have been reassuring, but he was glad Teleria and Henrietta had remained in the hallway when he couldn’t afford even the slightest error.

He didn’t actually have to harm them. With little Emperor Milbert critically wounded, doing so would have been too dangerous. But if he could just alter the readings shown on the media summoner…

“The people in Room 0108 don’t actually have to suffer,” he said under his breath, trying to convince himself.

He didn’t hate the dark elves of Philosommelier.

He didn’t have to battle the emperor.

The war between continents had probably already begun.

Since Emperor Milbert had in fact collapsed with a serious injury, a perfect happy ending was no longer in the cards.

But he believed it wasn’t too late to prevent both sides from destroying each other.

His true enemy was found elsewhere: Queen Astaroth Revolver. If he kept his focus on her, he would not lose his way.

“If I manipulate the media summoner’s readings to make them think the air quality is worsening, they should give up on their own!!”
