As long as there was even a single opportunity to grow, the situation would advance like an avalanche.

After all, the headless rider, Heiwajima Shizuo, and Kyohei Kadota—all part of the "Ikebukuro Group"— had suddenly been thrown into this city that they had never seen before. No matter how calm they seemed on the surface, there was a certain unease, and the best way to get rid of it would have been to find someone they knew.

They were all trying to find each other.

So when the headless rider, Heiwajima Shizuo, and Sonohara Anri met each other, the "Ikebukuro Group" just naturally formed up.

After all, the existence of the headless rider and the violent bartender was a "living landmark" in itself. Although they could never be used as true rendezvous points, they were probably more conspicuous than the owl at Ikebukuro Station. They just walked down the street together, and people who knew them just gathered around them.

"When you want to involve someone in some annoying scheme of yours, it means that you don't care if they get hurt because of you. Even if there's a monster that breathes fire or a full-body suit flying at Mach 10, it doesn't change the fact that you're the primary reason they're in danger. You understand what you're getting yourself into, right??"

"I'm not a hero—I don't hope to somehow save everyone purely out of the kindness of my heart..."

"Oh yeah?" Shizuo looked back.

Then, he took a step forward.

He wasn't grabbing a vending machine, nor was he trying to throw anyone. Truly, it was only his own "fist."

"In that case, show me your determination. If you can do that, I'll help you." 

"Got it."

He got a response.

An immediate one.

The boy, clenching his right hand, stared at the "enemy" before him, and proclaimed,

"You said it. If I win, you'll help me save them."
