Yeah. I did the first to chapters and chapter 289 before I found the rules/guidelines for editing. For some reason they haven't reverted the changes I made, which were pretty freaking extensive. You're supposed to get permission from the Project Supervisor (you can find that on the main shield hero page) and then post your proposed changes for the other editors to check, but I haven't figured those out yet. And theProject Supervisor for Shield Hero, Onizuka-GTO, doesn't seem to be very active. I've been waiting for a day or two for him to reply and he hasn't done it yet.  If you want to know the ins and outs of the editing, I suggest you study the commands that the other editors use and what they do as you make your changes. That's how I've learned so far. Somewhere there's a list of commands and what they do but it's hard to find so I don't use it that often.  Minor changes shouldn't get reverted unless they change the meaning of the sentence or story, in which case they aren't considered minor changes anymore. Good Luck.

Yes, I'm editing Shield Hero. Go ahead and edit the preview chapters... I don't know why they're preview chapters they're pretty much as ready to go as the ones that are officially published. I'm totally cool with answering any and all questions you have as long as I know the answer, communication on this site seems to be pretty weak so I try to encourage it. Everyone has their preferences, but that should be fine so long as you make sure anyone new can understand what "oyajii-san" means by putting a link and a note in. example: (in the text) "thanks oyajii-san< r e f > oyajii is a Japanese term used to address someone significantly older than oneself < / r e f >." 
It's fine to talk like this, I'd just appreciate it if you would add your signature (again, by typing four consecutive ~ without spaces) So i know who and when you're talking to me.

If you want to know 'why previews?', just read my talk page. Even with just previews, my added chapters were nearly deleted.

As for why your edits haven't been touched - none of us are omnipotent gods. We don't look over every single edit history of every single chapter every single day. And none of us have access to the page that lists all the changes for the site.

Um, could you guys check out my editing on chapter 79, and tell me what you think?
Also, how do we get a "preview" chapter to become normal?
Lastly, the guy who is "in charge" of this story is inactive, right? If so, do you know of any others who are involved?

1. Timeskip is an offical term. If I were to edit, I'd fuse 'time' and 'skip' together. 

2. Also, keep in mind the tense. Due to different translators, the tense gets messed up a lot. The chapter you edited is in past tense. The recent chapters are present tense. The rest of the edits, you did a good job.


Technically, to make it normal, we just have to edit to the main page, create a 'normal' chapter, and move the preview data into it. But for our changes to not be deleted, we need to get the translator to submit to an evaluation by Baka-tsuki administrators. Only Yoraikun has done so. 

I am unofficially the primary guy currently working on the Baka-tsuki pages. Aside from me, there are a variety of other users who report completed chapters, edit chapters, and do general stuff. Names include Rex, SilvLau, Xavdel, Kay11, and others.

Ah, nope. Actually, I'm a user just like you. It's just that I contribute much, much more than the rest. I have absolutely no administrative power, nor authority over the project. 

And about your commment - same here. I consider myself a professional bookworm, and almost every book I read was past tense. However, it seems the Tate no Yuusha web novel is an exception to the norm, since it is directly expressed from Naofumi's view. While I am not opposed to a mass-change to past tense, what you're suggesting is an editing project encompassing 300 chapters. Furthermore, you'd have to talk things over with the current translators (which number 3~ or so), and get them to translate in past tense. Considering they've been doing present tense until now, that would certainly be a massive change. If you think you have the energy and time to make 2 or more passes over all the chapters (at least one additional pass to ensure grammar quality), and have confidence in your own grammar skills, get in touch with the managers and ask permission. I can't promise any help from me, since my current schedule is busy. And don't forget to tell the translators of your decision, and ask permission to change their work. Good luckǃ

As a side note, if you do this, please don't change too much, beyond tense. Most of the readers, myself included, like the Japanese syntax. Just a personal opinion here.

Yes, there are perspective changes. But it seems neither of us can tell if it's because of the translators' differences or the raw text. Just not enough understanding of Japanese. Maybe you could try asking Yoraikun? If you leave a comment, there's a good chance he'll read it. 

I don't think the author needs to be contacted. Tate no Yuusha is not associated with any copyright laws, nor has the author demanded cessation of translation. I doubt even the current translators have made contact with the author.
