Silence fell for a while.

The Ghastly Fishing Hole was one of the lakeside ''deadly zones''. Myousou Yagoro sat on the simple floating bridge there.

The Sunday blue sky had returned overhead and the purple was nowhere to be found.

He wished he could stay here forever, but he knew that wasn’t an option.

(Ugh. If I stay here too long, my student might enter this dangerous ''deadly zone'' to search for me.)

Just then, the silence was broken.

“Why did you use such a roundabout Three Aspects?”

The speaker was Wedding Exam Flamberg Wyrd.

She still lay motionless on the bridge, only her lips moving.

“If you only needed to kill me to stop this, there were plenty of shorter and simpler methods available.”

She seemed to be criticizing him for not doing that.

Even though she knew death wouldn’t let her see her students again.

Flamberg was the worst, but no matter how badly cornered she was, she had continued to fight as a witch without taking the easy way out and becoming a Voland.

She had displayed human strength.

As twisted as she had become, she was an educator who had dedicated herself to a heartfelt desire for the exam students to be happy.

She was a true and undeniable teacher.

Yagoro was willing to grant her that much.

“Heh.” Yagoro let out a quiet laugh. “''Hey, Flamberg. This is magic. If you’d done your homework, you’d know the answer''.”

“?”

So covered in blood, he didn’t have it in him to explain it all.

But he did have one thing to say.

“First of all, killing you wasn’t my goal. That should be enough of a hint for you to figure it out, teacher. Also, there are people out there who will risk their lives to protect my student for nothing in return. I wouldn’t just leave one of them to die, don’tcha think?”
