With that, the incident had ended for the time being.

The Benandanti in thick armor took the lead in clearing away the rubble. The Witch Doctors treated the wounded in white medical tents and the Officers set up collapsible kitchen counters and stoves and got to work cooking.

Red pigtail Nancy spotted a woman being carried to one of the tents by stretcher.

It was Strena.

“Kh… Are you alright? Let me help you.”

“Thanks.”

“It’s nothing, really. You’re the one I hit after stalling out in the air, right?”

“I may have given up on the entrance exam, but I am older than you. I should be helping you.”

Nancy had no response to that, so silence fell.

While waiting for her turn to be treated, Strena viewed the damaged city around her.

Nancy sighed and tried speaking again.

“It was a close one, but it looks like Yagoro managed to put a stop to it.”

“Tch. I still don’t trust that athletic intellectual. If he had a trump card, he should’ve used it before it got this bad.”

Strena’s words were critical, but they in part acknowledged what the boy was capable of.

She didn’t doubt he could have solved a problem on this scale.

Not far away, a sexy apron witch wearing a dress with the colors of a luxurious chocolate cake was pulling along a little girl(?) wearing a sheer camisole dress with the colors of a blue Hawaii soda float. The smaller of the two was tearfully angry.

“Dammit, you can’t just cancel the flea market, leaving me with a ton of unsold books! Yagoro, you really are nothing but bad luck!”

“My, my. If you still had that many books left over by the afternoon, I doubt you would have sold them all anyway. It’s not fair to blame him for that.”

No matter what might happen, life in Temple School City would not stop.

It was a special city where so many new and repeat exam students crashed into a solid wall and struggled until the majority of them gave up, but it was one of the best places for people to learn how to find and foster hope.
