To return home, Kurumi and Takeshi walked back to the hall of mirrors. And using the same mirror through which they arrived at the academy, they both returned to their world. Takeshi was the first to exit the mirror in the bathroom of his house, followed by Kurumi who was being guided by him. Once outside, Takeshi set out to escort Kurumi towards her home, the Isohima residence, located next to his.

"I noticed you were calling that girl by her name," Kurumi mentioned in a clear voice as she opened the small waist-high gate of the Nanase house.

"You mean Mui?"

"Yes..."

"Well, I really don't know how it happened."

"..."

Takeshi replied with a chuckle, not noticing Kurumi's sadness.

"A long time ago, you used to call me by my name too. 'Kurumi-chan' you used to call me."

As they walked side by side, Takeshi found it hard to look at the profile of Kurumi's face below. And without noticing Kurumi's feelings, he kept laughing while remembering the past.

"Really? And so, since when did I start calling you 'Isoshima'?"

"Since we entered Junior High..."

"Huh? What did you say?"

Arriving at the Mansion, the noise of huge cicadas didn't let Takeshi hear well, so he asked. But Kurumi slowly shook her head and said:

"Nothing."

However, Takeshi was intrigued by the fact that her behavior was colder than usual so he looked at her and insisted:

"What's wrong with you?"

"I told you it's nothing!"

After shouting in annoyance, Kurumi turned around and looked at Takeshi.

"Do you believe what those people told you?"

Seeing the serious expression she was looking at him with, Takeshi stopped and answered:

"I wouldn't have believed anything if I hadn't seen what I saw with my own eyes."

"Ok, but I'm not going to be fooled."

In Kurumi's voice at the moment of making that decision, one could feel that there was more hatred and hostility than simple anger. Then she continued:

"And neither should you. We don't know if it's a cult or a simple fraud. But whatever the case it's better that you stay away from those dangerous things before you get hurt and it's too late."

Takeshi sighed as he saw that Kurumi was scolding him severely. But then he remembered that when Kurumi was in high school she had been attacked by a stalker.

"Isoshima..."

Instead of going to school, she had barricaded herself in her house in fear, because one day on her way home from school, she almost got kidnapped. A fact that Takeshi found out about as soon as he returned home after being with the Kendo club, and since then he kept it in his memory as a bad memory.

She also remembered that people used to say that she was the one asking for that kind of trouble, but Takeshi had only seen her wearing makeup during the New Year's parties and the ornament she wore in her hair was a simple black ribbon designated by the school that didn't even have any ornaments. Whether it was with boys or girls, she didn't usually get involved with anyone.

She was just an ordinary high school student who didn't stand out from the crowd. For that reason, he accepted Kurumi's request to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Even though it would result in the hatred of those admirers Kurumi had. But still, he wanted to protect her. He didn't want anyone to hurt her again. So, when Kurumi got angry, Takeshi was aware that it was because something was bothering her. So, at that moment he nodded obediently at her gaze.

"It's okay... And I'm sorry for worrying you, Isoshima."

"Well, if you understand, it's okay..."

Kurumi looked away, showing her ears which had turned red. And Takeshi, noticing that, smiled slightly. Kurumi was the type of person who said things directly. That frankness was the number one reason why she was hated by girls her own age. Still, she didn't tell lies and was always honest. Suddenly, the image of Mui came to Takeshi's mind. To tell the truth, she gave the same impression.

"Mui and Isoshima... huh?"

"Isohima is hostile to others, just to protect herself and Mui who won't give up on her brother."

"Isoshima might well hit it off with her."

While wishing for something like that to become possible, Takeshi thought with some expectation, as he walked next to Kurumi who still had her ears red.
