==Afterword==

That was another Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon Girls Talk side story.

This covered an incident starting after the end of the Armada Battle, which was seen in the main story and in the anime, and ending with Mary arriving in the room Tenzou found for her, but a lot more happened in that week, so I hope I can fill in more of that later on. Since this Girls Talk was connected to the main story and took place between volumes 2 and 3, it seems more like only partially a flashback? Anyway, I hope to do more of this in the future.

But when dealing with Japanese history, you’re bound to deal with the Buke Shohatto eventually. As was mentioned in the book, some of those linked to the religious ban created those laws. In my opinion, this shows that, within only a dozen or so years after the start of the Edo Shogunate, the shogunate was not underestimating the influence international matters would have on Japan and took a safety first view of ruling Japan as a whole.

But instead of being paranoid in an age before the modern information infrastructure, it feels more like an unpopular guy placing restrictions on himself in advance so he has an excuse. Yeah.

This one also touched on Margaret Pole and Elisabeth. If you research the two Marys, you will find a lot of incredible incidents and situations, so that really was an incredible age. Margaret was cruelly executed, but the people who investigated the matter admitted her nobility and you can imagine what kind of person Mary was if she was educated by someone like that. And then with the story of the friendship between Elisabeth and the other Mary, you can see just how loved both Marys were.

Now for the chat.

“This will be a short chat, but got any stories from middle or elementary school?”

“My middle school would carry the big pot of the day’s lunch in from the pantry. Y’know, with the group in charge wearing aprons. I don’t remember which day of the week it was, but we had gym fourth period that day.”

“Yeah, carrying that thing was a pain if you had to climb the stairs. We did that too.”

“Right. Anyway, we were doing swimming for gym then and I didn’t want to be late cause I was changing, so I put on the apron while naked figuring no one could tell with the apron on and went to the pantry. But the dark pantry plus the bright summer sun shining in through the window let you see right through my apron and, well, it turned into a whole thing. They said I went to the pantry naked and I argued back that I was wearing an apron! But for health reasons, they had to cancel the school lunch for that day and I got one hell of a talking to.”

“The teachers must have hated having to deal with you.”

Anyway my work music this time was Mongol800’s Chiisana Koi no Uta. It’s really more of a Tenzou song, though.

“Who was most delighted with their home?”

That can be the question this time. Anyway, next up is the main story again. Wait just a bit longer.
