No one trusted the witch.

No one praised the witch.

No one knew who the witch really was.

The path to success was right there in front of them, she carefully explained it to them over and over, and they all would have found happiness if they had simply followed her instructions.

But the people still failed.

But the people still fell and suffered for no reason.

Why did these things happen?

…Did they think there was a shortcut?

She had them taking such a long route because anything shorter would be too dangerous.

…Did they think it was a dead end?

It might look that way at first, but they would find a hole in the wall if they kept going.

…Did they think the stone bridge would collapse below them?

Such a kind witch would never tell them to take a path as dangerous as that.

Again and again, nothing she did was ever rewarded.

But she still pointed out the way.

No matter how horrifically she was treated.

No matter how muddy and bloody she ended up.

She knew no one would believe her, but she still pointed out the way for the troubled people she encountered.

She simply pointed to the answer right in front of them.
