This sounds wrong, since Asahina-san's hair is certainly not maroon in official art, and nor is it likely to be, since maroon is a dark red. According to a transcription of the novel, the adjective should be "粟色" - "millet-coloured".

: Here, 栗色 (Pronounced くりいろ / kuriiro) means "chestnut-color" which is actually not that far from maroon. It's possible this snuck in though the Chinese version (Which, since I believe HolyCow translated this chapter, is what was used.) Millet seed is actually a bright yellow (often the main ingredient in bird seed mix) so clearly that doesn't work.
