I may be being a bit of a nitpicker, but (leaving aside the atrocious punctuation throughout the whole volume) what Li Shen Hua has in her hair are, as seen in the illustration, double (side-)buns and not a chignon. A chignon may look similar to a traditional bun in the way that they are both intended tp collect the long hair that would otherwise cover the neck, but the chignon is looser and has to be at that particular place, while buns are tighter and rounder and may be placed anywhere in the head, most usually at the back (a traditional bun), at the side of the head (a sidebun; it may have a tail of hair hanging from it) or at both sides of the head (a double bun; same as a sidebun, but doubled).--Kemm (talk)
