'Immediately becoming aware of that situation': with the length of time that had passed, the word 'Immediately' prompts cognitive dissonance. What word in the text does it correspond to? *curiosity* An alternative interpretation would be that Tatsuya immediately noticed that Miyuki was holding her breath, but in that case he should have noticed it getting closer and closer to him (and reacted) up until that moment.
