Appendix: Quiz Answers[edit]

Summer is really getting started now.

Your prep school should be giving you a general exam soon, but that means you will stumble and come to a halt if you neglect the fundamentals. It’s a tutor’s job to give you some help where you’re lacking, so this quiz will help teach you the importance of the fundamentals.

Let’s start with the Aspect of Admiration.

ATU (0782), Midas and the Donkey Ears. Or would you know it better as the King Has Donkey Ears? This story has more than one magical lesson: “words can bring disaster” and one other. What is that other lesson?

(The donkey is seen as a foolish animal, so the king’s secret getting out would damage his authority)

Next, the Aspect of Antiquity.

Witchcraft divides the year into 8 periods. What is the most common reason for this?

The year is viewed as a large (wheel) and the 8 periods indicate the changing of the (seasons) and the days of the (festivals).

Finally, the Aspect of Amorality.

The Formula Broom is the most well known magic tool, but there are plenty more. Such as the staff. It is mostly a long stick just like a broom, but what is the difference between a staff and a broom at the Witch’s Sabbath?

The staff is a symbol of (male) authority.

A witch only carries one when attempting a theatrical ceremony and playing the role of the (horned) male god.

Today’s Quiz 1[edit]

Question: Reveal the magical cheating method used by Wicked Witch Chloe (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

Today’s quiz is a bit different from usual. Because the way I defeated Brewery was so simple it wouldn’t really help with the exam.

The Aspect of Admiration was ATU (0782), Midas and the Donkey Ears.

The Aspect of Amorality was (automatic writing).

The Aspect of Antiquity was (the priestess’s prophecy) from Norse mythology.

Hint: Where did Chloe receive the illicit information from? And what pathway did she use?

When the (barber) shouted about the donkey ears, his voice is guaranteed to travel through time and space until it eventually reaches the (king). That was the main foundation of the remote cheating.

Chloe had given up control of her (right hand) to Brewery. They had to make sure it was in Chloe’s handwriting, but it was actually Brewery who was writing the answers on the answer sheet.

When the top god (Odin) was in trouble, he descended to the underworld and asked for advice, but he was actually speaking with the spirit of a human (priestess). That means it is possible for a human to provide information that surpasses even that of a (god).

☆Important note! While giving up control of her right hand, Chloe gained the nature of a king. When she accused Dorothea of cheating, people were weirdly willing to accept her baseless accusation because it is insolent to doubt the words of a (king).

That’s all. Any questions, Melehe?

Today’s Quiz 2[edit]

Question☆ Save Sir Tutor by explaining the magical method Tedaura, Queen of the Night, Darkness, and Love, can use to treat his critical wounds! (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

  • Nectar
  • Yu Gao
  • Soma

As you can see, the Aspect of Antiquity is (legendary drinks).

Hint! A lot of myths depict fruits that provide immortality, but because fermented drinks can be made with (fruit), you can remember the two categories as a set!

The Aspect of Amorality is unfermented (wine). That acts as a (necromancy) tool because it is a twisted parody of the wine used in mass.

With that, we have set up everything needed to manipulate a (soul) in life or in death. All that remains is to link these symbols to the Aspect of (Admiration)!

ATU (0410), aka Sleeping Beauty. The princess is put to sleep by the (curse) of a fairy who was not invited to her (birthday party) and she is (woken) by a dispelling kiss. This means that life and death are no more than statuses and a witch can manipulate them as long as she follows the appropriate ceremony.

That’s all☆

Okay, Sir Tutor. If you have no complaints, then could you get up now?

It’s about time we began our counterattack.

Today’s Quiz 3[edit]

Question: What magical method did Myousou Yagoro use to deliver the finishing blow to the superior Student Council President Ulrike? (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

Willpower allows a witch to use witchcraft.

That is what matters most. By directing your full willpower in a single direction, it can transform into tremendous attack power.

Note: In this case, the magic interfered with the witch’s mind to shred her will to use magic, thus preventing the curse.

Didn’t Ulrike seem awfully cooperative after her defeat? That was the result of her hostility being artificially removed. Now let’s discuss the actual method.

The Aspect of (Amorality) was a curse reversal.

This can be done with everyday objects. There is even a method where a fire-heated (grass sickle) is soaked in milk to cool and then mixed with sulfur and soot. Most any (talisman) spread among ordinary people is a ceremony meant to direct their (willpower) toward a single goal.

The Aspect of Antiquity was the Norse god of light (Baldr).

But this isn’t about how to kill that (immortal) god. It relates to the story after his death. It was said his death would be overturned and he would be (resurrected) if all life in the world wept for him. That shows just how meaningful it is for people to bring their wills together and wish for something.

The Aspect of Admiration was ATU (0425)c, Beauty and the Beast.

There are a lot of stories where the pure (willpower) known as love is used to break a (curse).

That’s all. Any questions, Viocia?

Today’s Quiz 4[edit]

Question: Explain the details of the deadly curse placed on Viocia Modestlucky so that she can be saved. (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

Aspect of Admiration:

ATU (0410), Sleeping Beauty. The king gathered up all the (spindles) from around the kingdom to prevent the fairy’s curse, but just one was overlooked and the princess was placed in eternal sleep.

Aspect of (Antiquity):

(Baldr), the Norse god of light. There was supposedly no way to (kill) him, but he was killed regardless by a spear made from (mistletoe), the one thing everyone had overlooked.

Aspect of Amorality:

The (death) curse used in the witch’s (black mass). A (wax doll) of the target can be pierced with a needle to curse and kill them.

The deadly curse is essentially (unavoidable), so once they are hit, not even a princess beloved kingdom-wide or an immortal god can escape their fate. Also, the target of the wax doll could even be someone out of reach of the common people, like the current pope.

Thus, Viocia Modestlucky cannot escape the deadly curse she was hit with as long as she remains in this world.

That is all.
