A Late Night Meal
●
Night had fallen in the courtyard. The festive heat had died down by the time 1 AM rolled around.
Kido stood by the wall and observed the usual gods entering storytelling mode or snacking mode in the courtyard, as well as the other club members.
…This late night scene never does change, does it?
It was the same when she was active on Earth as a god. For no real reason, the people had gathered between their mobile tents to start campfires, chat, and otherwise kill time.
It was probably the night and the light and the heat of the fire that did it.
This scene stirred up something in her that she supposed was nostalgia.
For the first time in what felt like a long time, she spent some time alone while waiting for the hot water they had used for cooking to cool.
…Because everything has been so noisy around me of late!
Even now, she could hear voices from the game clubroom.
“Eh!? What!? I just did some button mashing and it turned into an incredible combo! Die!”
“Gwawawahhhh! What the heck!?”
<That is Final Blow, a boxing game by Taito that was ported to the Mega Drive early on. It was a hardcore game with no music during the rounds, but it also allowed rapid attacks like in a shoot ‘em up, allowed you to block all damage if you got the height right, and had two attack buttons – a weak attack and a medium attack – but pressing them both at once would produce a strong attack. The original arcade version came out in ‘88, but it had a very advanced design.>
“But how did she just beat me?”
<Well, Final Blow has no special moves, but by moving the lever up or down, the medium and strong attacks become a hook or an uppercut. You are meant to use those different heights to attack where your opponent is not guarding, and when you do hit, it does a ton of damage. And if you adjust your guard in a panic, your opponent can predict it and catch you in a nasty combo that KOs you in no time. It gives a very real boxing feel to the game, so it can get exciting when playing with someone who knows how it’s done.>
“Th-that’s exactly what happened to me!”
“Oh, my vision is quick enough to see that kind of thing, so my abilities as a god must give me an advantage in this game.”
<Also, the arcade version was the first game to use Taito’s famous F2 system board. A lot of the F2’s abilities were unknown because the designer passed away, so development for it was notorious for involving a lot of guesswork, but it was an impressive board since most of Taito’s really in-depth games were developed for it.>
A lot was going on in there. But one thing bothered Kido.
…I left the bag with the bentos inside the clubroom!
●
Kido used this time to think.
…I made bentos for Izumi and Douhai-san because I knew they would be heading out even with the flooding, but once we got here they were only interested in the emergency food and the festival food. And Izumi has probably forgotten all about the bentos after rolling back.
She felt like she had gotten a little too excited. But it’s flooding. Flooding. And I am a water god. So…
“Maybe I should stick the entire bag of bentos in Balancer’s refrigerator and we can eat them during an outing once all of this is over.”
<It is true my storage can be used to transfer things to the cleaners and such, but you are the first one to use it in place of a refrigerator.>
●
Shifu and some others were watching Kido from a distance.
“Oh, oh. Kido-san is trying to decide if she should go in and grab her bento bag.”
“Didn’t you eat your bentos on the boat ride here?”
“Those were the ones Kido-san made while waiting for the roll back! The ones in the clubroom are the initial ones she made!”
“Why can’t she just go in and get them?”
“Just wait a bit and you’ll see! Just wait!”
●
While Kido tried to decide what to do, she heard a voice from the clubroom.
“Mom!”
It caught her off guard. She found herself speechless and turned her head toward the clubroom door to see Izumi placing the bag full of bentos onto the main table.
“…Izumi?”
“Yeah. This bag is yours, right!? This one with all the bentos in it! I know it’s late, but I’m hungry, so can I eat one!?”
“Eh!? What!? You can just refuel in the middle of the night!?”
Oh, right, recalled Kido. The roll back would not eliminate their bond as mother and child. So she knew what this had to be. Izumi simply “understood”. So…
“There are plenty inside there, so we can all share them. I was feeling a bit hungry myself.”
Why did Douhai-san and the others approach from behind, looking ready to high five?
Divine Chat Zone[edit]

“Byyyy the way , I’m a liiiittle interested in Comiket.”
“Eh!? I’m pretty sure there’s a BL book of your most famous follower – y’know, that carpenter guy – and his disciples, so are you gonna say humans are corrupt and send a meteor strike!?”
“That seems like an extreme level of corruption…”
“Yeah, it’s basically anything goes! When you go, you need to bring at least two liters of liquids and a cap or towel to keep the direct sunlight off! Also, your sweat will soak through a cloth or paper bag and ruin your loot, so I recommend one that’s been waterproofed or is made from a waterproof material!”
“Sounds like you’re headed to a battlefield… Has it always had a lot of participants?”
<The first one in 1975 had around 700. It gradually grew from there. The peak of the early years was C17 in 1981 with around 10 thousand people. C25 and C26 had around 30 thousand, C32 passed 60 thousand, and C36 passed 100 thousand, which is when it became recognized as a social phenomenon, but this summer’s C38 finally surpassed 230 thousand.>
“Sounds like it’s growing fast, almost like it’s doubling every few years! In terms of boobs, that would be like going from me, skipping right past Kido-san, and reaching Shifu-san.”
“I just about clicked my tongue at that, but I managed to restrain myself. Oh, and I think I’ll go next time if any of you are going. I bet the first beer after getting back is to die for.”
“Kuwajiri-chan? Can’t you at least say you’re going ‘in search of knowledge’ or something?”
Table of Contents[edit]

This is a world modeled after Tachikawa in 1990. The only human and the many gods there have begun the terraforming needed to create a new world for the humans, but all they end up doing is chatting a lot, getting into fights, getting sidetracked, and playing board games. Now, a truly unpredictable story awaits you. Or maybe it doesn’t. Whatever.
Story[edit]

“Um, have you forgotten what happened in Part A? If so, this is for you. This goes over the story in Part A. Does this bring back your memories?”
The Story So Far:
After returning from their summer camping trip, Sumeragi begins his life with Senpai and now Kido. But on the last morning of summer break, he wakes up to find it pouring rain and flooding.
After evacuating to the school and visiting the clubroom building, they find lots of gods sheltering there. They all began a sort of communal life there, but then they begin debating and pursuing the question of what god and mythology caused the rain and flood.
Meanwhile, the terraforming has reached the point that a base is needed for more personnel and to strengthen what they have. It also looks like a showdown with the flame dragons is necessary.
The gods’ investigation begins. They hold a meeting of the gods, but with so many gods and mythologies, several misunderstandings and plenty of trouble occurs before they can reach a consensus.
During all this, a duel begins between Greek sea god Poseidon and Irish mother earth goddess Anne to see who will deal with the flooding!
Character[edit]

Sumeragi Izumi
Protagonist. High School Year 2. Game club member. Main consoles are the Mega Drive, the PC-98, and the MSX2. Big boobs worshiper. Has no filter whatsoever. Seriously, none. Tends to make strange noises. Background noise on legs. Is something of a problem, but isn’t a bad person. It’s fine.
Senpai
Senpai. High School Year 3. Game club member? Has difficulty saying no. 175cm tall and busty. Seems like the gentle type but actually has an odd amount of energy. Seems to use her flustered expression more than the normal one. Is a Shinto god and is actually Iwanaga-hime.
Kido Abinae
Year 3, 180cm tall, and busty. Is the Echidna, Greek mother of monsters, but her true form is the Scythian sea god Api. Wields the ultimate weapon Keravnos Melan. Created Sumeragi’s base form = is his mother. Acts like mother and mother-in-law to him and Senpai, which makes her and Senpai fellow Sumeragi fans.
Raidou Tooru
High School Year 3. Game club member. 195cm tall. The reliable big brother type. Surprisingly intellectual. Gets worked up playing games, but isn’t very good at them. Main consoles are the Famicom and the X68. A real fighter. Big boobs worshiper. Is Thor, Norse god of war, and primarily handles the fighting.
Shifu Saku
High School Year 3. Game club member. 185cm busty blonde. Raidou’s wife. The accepting mom type. Thor’s wife Sif from Norse Mythology and also his other wife Jarnsaxa. A harvest god.
Kuwajiri Tsubomi
High School Year 2. Game club member. 155cm tall. An intellectual with a sharp tongue. Something like a little sister to Raidou and Shifu? Good at games that don’t require reflexes. Kvasir, Norse god of knowledge. Has fairly high blood alcohol content.
Yomoji Shinsei
High School Year 3. Game club member. 205cm tall. Club leader. Stretches his words when he talks. Crazily tolerant yet intolerant. Absurd. Monotheistic god. The four letters one. Harsh with his believers.
Balancer
An AI made by humanity and a 30cm square. Currently works as a manager for the terraforming. However, most of their authority has been transferred to the gods, so he ignores an awful lot for a manager. Gets into a lot of insult battles with Sumeragi. Also provides exposition. This 90s world is a data world known as a Divine World that Balancer created.
Omokane Yatsui
High School Year 3. Shinto Representative in the Divine World. 170cm tall. Is Omoikane, Heavenly God of knowledge. Is also the Library Committee Head and works behind the scenes for Shinto. Maybe a little too much.
Kubiko Scarecrow
High School Year 3. Library Committee member in glasses and Kuebiko, Shinto god of knowledge and security. 175cm tall. Is only at the Earthly God level, but acts as Omokane’s overseer. Busty.
Sugawara Tenma
High School Year 1. 150cm tall. Is Sugawara no Michizane, Shinto god of learning, and also a lightning god and negotiation god, so she is multitalented.
Shamhat
Temple prostitute god from Mesopotamian Mythology. Originally human. 160cm tall. Down for anything if the price is right. More of a worrier than you would think and likes to help out. Busty.
Bilgamesh
Half-god half-human from Mesopotamian Mythology. 190cm tall. Tucks his shirt in. Later known as Gilgamesh, which is the better known name. DIY’d his equipment, created laws as a king, and did a lot of other stuff while doing a lot of “stuff” with Enkidu.
Kidou En
Busty. Enkidu, a half-god half-human from Mesopotamian Mythology. Also known as Ki. 180cm tall. Is Bilgamesh’s partner and is about as powerful as him, but she currently uses spells more often. Was originally a guy, but made herself into a girl.
Eshita Inana
Eshtar, a major god from Mesopotamian mythology. Shinto Terraforming Inspector and Karamucho lover. So she’s also known as Mucho. Insta-killed Sumeragi and fears Senpai.
Demeter
The oldest goddess among Greek’s top 12 gods. Quick to get in a fight, but also deeply emotional. After the trouble with Kido, is staying in Tachikawa as a tourist and on a whim.
Athena
Demeter’s niece. One of Greek’s top 12 gods. Not the same as the video game and manga character. Probably. As a young war god, she is easily influenced by her more forceful aunt. Uses the god of war Victorious Goddess.
Mr. V
Roman ocean god. Mr. Vomit. His real name is Neptune, but no one calls him that anymore. Has a past with Kido and the Greeks.
Salacia
Mr. V’s wife. Had turned into a water monster, but regained her original form thanks to Mr. V’s dedication and endurance. Friends with Kido.
Poseidon
Greek sea god. But since he is a combination of many different gods and beings, even he isn’t quite sure what to call himself. A bit effeminate and can chat with the girls without any difficulty. A powerful god, but he’s a pleasant guy who doesn’t let it go to his head.
Dan Anne
Irish mother earth goddess. Her bangs cover her eyes and she’s busy enough that a pair of hills in her homeland were named “Anne’s Breasts”. Has a deep knowledge of forests and rivers and has a gentle demeanor. Probably has the strongest conscience out of them all.
Touto Jehuty
Known as TJ. 2nd year. Is Thoth, one of the Egyptian creator gods, and is a fairly old member of that mythology. Currently severs as head of the manga club, but intends to hand the position over to her underclassmen Souko. Has a lot of secret fans for her unique way of talking.
Beisu Funto
2nd year. His 3D shape is a lot like one sphere stacked atop another. Primarily serves as one of the guards protecting Tachikawa. Likes to play video games, but never shows his true skill for some reason.
Beisu Seito
2nd year. Beisu’s wife. Has a strong-willed personality and has shown some irritation with Beisu for holding back and growing negative. Serves as a guard with him.
Souka Souko
1st year. Egyptian creator god in training. A promising newcomer to the manga club, but is a slow artist. Didn’t complete her Comiket manuscript in time and is still working at it. Admires TJ.
