Appendix: Quiz Answers[edit]

Prologue Quiz[edit]

Are you used to these quizzes yet? As usual, make sure you focus on the Three Aspects.

But instead of directly testing your knowledge, this time I kept in mind what kind of questions you’ll need to answer on an actual test. So pay careful attention to the phrasing of the questions.

Let’s start with the Aspect of Admiration.

ATU 0709 is Snow White and ATU 0709a is a derivative of it. Explain how ATU 0709a differs.

(It becomes the story known as The Little Sister of Nine Brothers and the prince saves the girl after she steps on a poisoned claw and dies.)

Next, the Aspect of Amorality.

Witches are said to transform into a variety of different animals. These are mostly harmless animals like rabbits and dragonflies, but just one is extremely dangerous. Which of the following is it?

1. Crow

2. Cat

. Wolf

Hint: Dangerous means this animal is a threat to human life.

Lastly, the Aspect of Antiquity.

Crystal is an all-purpose mineral. The witch ceremony known as programming specializes a crystal for a single use by sealing your own will inside. What benefit does this provide?

Giving it a specific (role) in advance allows for (time reduction).

Yagoro: Dorothea provided us with our answers this time. A round of applause, everyone!

Dorothea: Y-you’re embarrassing me. Eep.

Today’s Quiz 1[edit]

Question: How did Myousou Yagoro control the sleeping bag and furniture and what magical method did he use to defeat Wicked Witch Rayon? (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

1. The Aspect of Admiration was (Red Riding Hood).

2. The Aspect of Amorality was (a poltergeist).

3. The Aspect of Antiquity was (Fragarach).

→Now explain who those Three Aspects were handled.

Hint: Consider how he used Rayon’s scam magic against her.

Important: It all begins with ATU0333.

Out of all the stories, this especially focused on the scene where the (wolf) disguised himself as the grandmother lay in the bed and tricked Red Riding Hood. Red Riding Hood was skeptical and asked several questions, but none of the wolf’s answers led to any change in the situation. That is a magical lesson that even blatant (lies) have absolute power over the people under your spell.

For the poltergeist, it’s probably easier to imagine (necromancy) in which someone creates their own rapping noises to match what (the questioner) asks about, don’tcha think?

The control aspect was enhanced using the Celtic symbol of the (magic sword) that, when drawn, would automatically (take flight), cut down the enemy, and return to (the wielder).

The sleeping bag magic that Rayon taught Roslynica was fake. But so what? A lie that can never be found it carries special power and the battle began when the room’s inanimate objects began to move on their own. By creating that “situation”, Even magic created by con artist can demonstrate real power.

That’s all. Any questions, Viocia?

Yagoro: Winning with brute force wouldn’t have been a good reward for Roslynica, so I had to get creative.

Viocia: What? It’s so weird that lies can be a magical lesson…

Yagoro: Witchcraft is a mixture of truth and lies. You have to consider how to use each piece of knowledge.

Today’s Quiz 2[edit]

Yagoro: …

Yagoro: We skipped this one, so there are no answers to give.

Melehe: That’s perfect. Since we have extra space, you need to let us air out our daily frustrations.

Viocia: Hear, hear!

Dorothea: Um, eep, I-I don’t have any complaints about him.

Viocia: You tell him, Dorothea!!

Melehe: Viocia, you agreed without even listening to what she said, didn’t you? Whose side are you on!?

Yagoro: There’s no point in arguing with her. She’s the kind of person who would instantly befriend a tiger that had escaped from the circus.

Melehe: Don’t give me that pitying look, pervy tutor. Just you wait. We’ll have our verbal revenge prepared for you next time.

Dorothea: Eh? Do I have to be a part of it?

Melehe: …

Yagoro: If Viocia and Dorothea aren’t interested in your revenge, democracy is going to work against you here, don’tcha think?

Melehe: Says the tutor who lords it over us as like a dictator!! Stand up, proletariat! We must reclaim the freedom of the exam students from the clutches of this tyrannical idiot!

Viocia: I don’t know what half that means, so how about we try out a new snack recipe?

Dorothea: You can’t, Viocia. Eep. Those instant recipes are bad for you.

Yagoro: Okay, okay. How long are you students planning to hang around here? Do you like my company, or something?

Melehe: Are you stupid!? Are you stupid!?

Viocia: That’s so important she said it twice, teacher.

Dorothea: Eep. Was Melehe’s response there the correct answer?

Today’s Qui- Monster Test from Hell💀[edit]

Question: How and with what magical method did Myousou Yagoro defeat Demon Lord Snorri and rescue all the girls including Freynir? (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

The Aspect of Admiration was ATU (0124).

The Three Little Pigs is the name most people know, but that isn’t the official name. Watch out for trick questions.

The important part is that the wolf was finally defeated after three stages: the (house of straw), the house of wood, and the house of brick. Three is an important number in witchcraft, so focus on it whenever you encounter it.

☆Hint: Focus on the number 3!

The rest is easy. The Aspect of Antiquity was (Erinyes), the trio of vengeance gods from (Greek) mythology.

The Aspect of (Amorality) was the witch ceremony in which a (great storm) is created by untying three (knots).

The witches could not win and Freynir the elf could not win. By my addition activated the principle of (third time’s) the charm, giving me the role of the brick house, which acted as a curse to weaken Demon Lord (Snorri). With that, the cruel wolf is reduced to a simple (jobber).

This can be used as many times as you want as long as you don’t die. In the world of witches, defeat isn’t always meaningless. If you can lose in a way that sets up a later victory, it’s actually a valuable investment, don’tcha think?

That’s all. Viocia, and the rest of you too, any questions?

Viocia: Sob

Yagoro: If you’ve learned your lesson, then stop trying to solve everything on your own.

Dorothea: Hee hee. B-but, tutor, you always seem to come running whenever Viocia is in trouble.

Viocia: (Smile!!)

Yagoro: Hey, don’t encourage her. She had better not make a habit of getting into trouble because of this!

Today’s Quiz 4[edit]

Question: How and with what magical methods did Myousou Yagoro defeat Wicked Witch Flamberg? (10 points per blank, 100 points total)

01. The initial concept was the Aspect of Admiration – ATU (0333), Red Riding Hood.

02. I used the part where the hunter slays the wolf and rescues Red Riding Hood and the grandmother from the wolf’s (belly).

03. I wanted a legend where attack and (recovery) were two sides of the same coin.

04. The Aspect of Antiquity was the (Dagda)’s club.

05. When used normally, that weapon can defeat the enemy army, but when held upside down, it can (resurrect) dead allies.

06. The Aspect of (Amorality) was the creation of something from something.

07. That is the symbolism behind healing people’s wounds by (sacrificing) plants or animals and creating potions out of them.

08. In this case, Flamberg and her ferocious attacks made her the (wolf).

09. Because Dorothea and Strena were injured in the battle, they had been (eaten) by the wolf.

10. When the (hunter) defeated the wolf, they were rescued with all of their damage erased.

Note: Simply defeating her wouldn’t have been enough. I also needed to rescue Dorothea and Strena, don’tcha think?

That’s all. Any questions, Viocia?

Viocia: You mean you didn’t just defeat Flamberg!?

Yagoro: Well, it would have left a bad taste in my mouth if I hadn’t helped Dorothea and Strena (and Flamberg, and the Dracae, and Aristotle), don’tcha think?

Viocia: So this is witchcraft. There’s more to it than fighting and breaking stuff.

Yagoro: Fighting is just one method of solving problems. What good is being the strongest? You can’t solve everything by winning fights. Lose sight of that and you can become a wicked witch obsessed with power, dont’cha think, Viocia?
