If you saw the cover illustration and the last battle in the frontispiece and thought "Whoa, that looks really cool," so but then you realized "hey, this whole book is nothing but twintails!" then I apologize. But... but you should know that from the title! If the word twintails is there in the title, what's inside is also going to be twintails from end to end!!

I can hardly believe it's a book even now, but as I write this afterword I can remember the day that I found out that it had won the award several months ago as if it were yesterday.
I want to express my deepest thanks to Hata Kenjirou-sensei, who agreed to serve as the guest judge, for choosing this story that I somehow managed to put together. The main reason I sent this in was to get the chance to have sensei read it, so I can hardly express my feelings! By the way, I'd like to see Hinagiku and Athena in twintails in the original story sometime too.
To my supervisor Hamada, I caused nothing but trouble and I'm sorry. Getting the two of us to face each other with all our strength over this ridiculous story has been more support than anything else. Though I'm a hick who got lost on the way to the award ceremony and ended up late, I've been able to push forward continuously without losing the chuuni spirit in my heart! Please guide me for many more happy years!
To the illustrator Kasuga, thank you very much for the supreme illustrations, both impressive and cute! The feelings I had when I saw the roughs of the scenes are unforgettable. When I heard you had let us know you wanted to draw a picture of that scene, my heart really got warm. Afterward too, I'm in your hands!
