Thanks for translating! Looking forward to reading your translations! :D 3/20/13

Thanks! I'm sorry for the slow progress, I've been a bit busy with IRL stuff lately, but I'm trying to squeeze some time into translating. SetsunaFSeiei (talk) 02:29, 27 March 2013 (CDT)

no problem :D. Although we readers are always looking forward to more translated material, it is not our place to complain about anything really, let alone speed. I am just happy for you to have joined in on the project. :) 4/7/13

Oda Nobuna[edit]

Hey, I've noticed this pretty recently but the Chapter 1 Vol. 3 of Oda Nobuna no Yabou has an "epilogue" (rather strange in almost the beginning of the book) like HSDxD does? Or it comes at the very end?

Yeah, it happens right after Chapter 1. It's something like 'The End' or something, but I thought that didn't make sense. I'm thinking of discussing that with my fellow translators about that when I get there (as I'm pretty slow). SetsunaFSeiei (talk) 02:29, 27 March 2013 (CDT)

BTW How come you are finishing chapter after chapter from 4 onwards but you still haven't completed yet chapter 1? Are you saving it for last?--Kemm (talk) 09:32, 12 May 2013 (CDT)

That's because Tarmade is doing the rest lol. SetsunaFSeiei (talk) 09:36, 12 May 2013 (CDT)

I can understand that you are busy with the translations that you are doing but I was wondering how long will it take to finish the last 5% on volume 3 chapter 1? It would be nice if you finished it soon. 12 June 2013

Yeah, I've been really bogged down recently, since I had tests in April and now I'm having exams. So in these three months, spare time was scarce. And, as you will see, I got the last 5% up...but it's not actually 5%. It turns out, the 'epilogue' thing is actually part of the entire chapter 1, so we're back at 50%. SetsunaFSeiei (talk) 08:27, 13 June 2013 (CDT)

Will you put an separated entry for the Chapter 1 Epilogue, like it was at the beginning? --Braiam (talk) 09:16, 13 June 2013 (CDT)

Oda Nobuna Translation[edit]

Hey, no problem. Any help is always greatly appreciated.

^- I've looked as to why did Tarmade post that. First, thanks for your "just half a chapter" and thanks for coming back to translate Oda Nobuna. Second, "nanban/namban" are both correct romanizations; the first comes from direct transliteration of Meiji reformed kana (なんばん "na"+"n"+"ba"+"n"), while the second comes from real pronunciation (before "b" and "p", the "n" sound usually becomes a "m" sound) and is equally valid, although progressively less popular (with "valid" I mean officially sanctioned by japanese linguistic authorities). As a side note, I say "Meiji reformed" because before the standarization of japanese hiragana by 1900 (I supposse that it was introduced a bit earlier, since I've found proofs of the standarization a bit prior to that date, but that was the date of its official establishment) the "n" sound was written with the same hiragana symbols as the "mu" sound (not in katakana, though).--Kemm (talk)

Mhmmm...I see. Going by the timeline, "namban" is probably the version that people used in the Sengoku era. But since it's currently standardized as "nanban", I was afraid it might cause confusion. Looking back at vol 1 and 2, it seems Akuma used "namban" too, so I think I'll go and change them back later. Thanks for your input! I still have much to learn lol.
