Chapter 9: Chance Meeting

It has been three days since Saito and the others had returned to Des Ornieres. Until then, no important news had been sent from the Royal Palace so Saito and the others just spend their days peacefully.

With regards to Tiffania who was spending her days with children from an orphanage in Tristain, they had received a letter asking ‘How is everything?’ With familiar events such as these and without any major problems, they could somewhat enjoy their time peacefully.

Since the very first night of the day they returned, Saito's room became a battlefield during bedtime. Until now, he was already used to sleep where he was always sandwiched between Louise and Siesta, and because of this, you could perceive to some extent, the delicate balance that existed between the three.

But now, the presence of Tabitha was added to the equation.

Whenever the night fell, Sylphid would always push Tabitha, who also brings her pillow, to Saito’s room. Anyway, when there were still two, each could be accommodated in each side, but as it increased to three one must be left out of the bed.

As if it were the most natural thing Louise claimed for herself the right side, claiming the she was considered the number one for Saito, they would spend eternity together, and nothing would change that. As the third daughter of a duke, she must not be left out, so there was nothing more to discuss about it.

Siesta also naturally had already claimed the left side, she had already assumed she was the one who had to attend to Saito, and therefore, that part of the bed was the obvious position. And besides, if she would sleep in another room some ghosts might appear, or at least that's what she said.

Hearing those kinds of reasoning, Sylphid who was representing Tabitha, raised an objection.

“This girl was always very sad and lonely, so you two should show some consideration for her. And, unlike you this girl is not a pervert, her happiness would be achieved if you only let her sleep on Saito’s side. She is a good girl that can’t be compared with you, even within us dragons rhyme, she is quite superior.”

While this chaos continues, Saito was the only ‘left out’ on that scene, as if a wall was separating him and them.

He could only stay there sitting on the floor practically polishing his knees, while being attentive of how the rampage will continue.

"Are you happy with this?" If asked to Saito, the only possible answer was: "Sure." So Saito was truly stuck in a tense and delicate situation.

Why would it be that now that he had chosen a girl, his popularity had suddenly soared. Then remembering the old days, he recalled how ambitious he had been in the past, always trying to receive more and more chocolates from girls were even simpler, but now... he accepted this as a distant past.

Life was itself something that one would never be able to keep up. And this was the epiphany that Saito had at that time.

And finally, Sylphid who had offered to be the referee came to a conclusion.

“I know! Then onee-sama should be on the top!”

“Top?” And then Sylphid nodded.

“Yes, it is, as you were on the both sides, there is no other place but the top.”

“That would be very dangerous.” Saito said.

Then Tabitha who up till now remained silent, with her expressionless face, said:

“Do you agree?...”

A cold sweat ran down Saito’s back, if he honestly agreed to Tabitha then Louise will misunderstood it, this would hurt her feelings, so if he will not clarify it to her, she will...

No choice. Saito then nodded.

“Okay, okay ... top.”

“Did you say it's okay? Thank you very much. Normally a human simpleton like you do not have the honor of sharing a bed with onee-sama.” As she said these, Sylphid rode wildly on Saito's head.

Well, after several discussions they had decided their places, and finally it was time to go to bed.

Then suddenly, they heard someone knocking at the downstair’s door impatiently.

“...Who could it be at this hour of the night?”

“Is it someone in the neighborhood?” At the moment Saito said this, Siesta's face became worried.

That cannot be... Perhaps someone who were after Saito ...! Then Saito and Louise looked at each other.
