Words lost in the wind.

"Because Rika still has everyone, we're all friends, aren't we?"

A day after Kobato's birthday.

After seeing the Takayama sisters Maria and Kate off (they stayed overnight at our house), I began preparing Maria and Kobato's bento boxes for today as usual.

I prepared breakfast a little earlier today, but since Kobato wasn't up yet by the time I was done, I had no choice but to go wake her up.

Last night, Kobato and Maria were fighting over a video game all the way past midnight (the same video game I got her for her birthday).

Kate was watching them from the living room with a lonely look in her eye, while munching on dried squid and drinking carbonated drinks. Even though she's younger than me, how could she give me the impression of a bored uncle?

"Kobato, wake up!"

......

I shouted from downstairs. Getting no reply, I made my way to Kobato's room.

"Kobato!"

Click-- I made my way into Kobato's room.

For a girl's room, her room was so messy it felt like a shame to call it so.

The walls were lined with posters from 《Fullmetal Necromancer》, as well as spell circles used in the anime.

Crosses, skulls and emblems which appeared in the show were also decorated all around the room.

Among these decorations included the forbidden incantations she just received yesterday, which were plastered all over the room.

These incantations were what Yukimura gave her for her birthday after club activities yesterday, the incantations of Rāgarāja

Honestly I didn't even know if it could be counted as a present, but since Kobato placed it alongside her favorite anime posters, she must be quite satisfied with them...... I need to let Yukimura know.

The desk Kobato had been using since Elementary School was littered with textbooks and notebooks.

There was a book rack on the table. On top of it was a handkerchief and a box of candle incense.

The handkerchief was from Yozora and the incense from Rika.

...Speaking of which, the spot currently occupied by the handkerchief and incense used to house the signature of a famous anime director which Sena managed to obtain not too long ago. Now it was tossed aside like it no longer mattered.

And finally, the reason I came up here, Kobato.

"...Uhm... Ahh..."

Kobato murmured as she laid asleep on the bed, spreadeagled.

Because her pajamas had been stretched entirely up to her waist, I could see her underwear. Her blanket was lying on the floor.

Next to her pillow were her contacts which she would wear the moment she got up.

Even though her face resembled an exquisite doll, her sleeping pose was simply too unsightly. I stretch out my hands to wake her up.

I suddenly noticed a cross she wore around her neck.

It was the same cross Maria usually wore. Maria had purposely ran over to our house to give her this present.

"Fuu..."

A smile appeared on Kobato's sleeping face, as her right hand clutched the cross tightly.

For a moment I was taken aback by her sweet sleeping face, but if I didn't wake her up soon we would both be late for school. I shook her shoulder gently.

"Hey, get up~ It's time for school!"

"...Uhm... Haa..."

No matter what I did she wouldn't budge.

... Sigh.

I moved closer to Kobato's face, and said into her ear.

"Hey Kobato, 《Fullmetal Necromancer》 is about to begin!!"

"Kyaa!?"

The moment I said that, Kobato's eyes sprang wide open.

After looking around, a disappointed look appeared on her face as she gazed at me with those beautiful blue eyes she inherited from our mother.

"... Ufufufu... Haa... An-chan... Good morning..."

She closed her eyes the moment she finished.

"Hey Kobato, wake up! We're going to be late!!"

......For the first morning being fourteen, it seemed my sister was still the same as usual.
