Introduzione

In Giappone e nel resto del mondo dilaga la criminalità... vengono istituite scuole speciali, le Accademie Butei, con il compito di istruire particolari detective armati (chiamati "Butei"), in grado di assolvere i più svariati incarichi in cambio di una ricompensa, seguendo tuttavia alcune regole fondamentali. Un ragazzo del secondo anno, Tohyama Kinji, è dotato di un potere speciale, in grado di potenziargli notevolmente mente e riflessi, ma con una modalità di attivazione "fastidiosa" e difficile da controllare.Per evitare guai e fastidi cerca quindi di nasconderlo e di trasferirsi ad una scuola normale, per vivere pacificamente come uno studente normale. Ma,quando diventa vittima di un tentato attentato e incontra Aria H. Kanzaki, Butei di classe S, questo obiettivo sembra allontanarsi sempre più....
