Track 4: It's been one disaster after another[edit]
FX:* sword fight*
Conrad: Yuuri,.
Yuuri: Huh?
Conrad: I'm going back, forgive me.
Yuuri: Conrad!
FX:*Conrad runs away*
Yuuri (monologue): The ship that we were traveling on was attacked by pirates. Since this unexpected BIG event took place, the crew which was unskilled in fighting was quickly overpowered. Conrad and Wolfram stood up to the dangerous enemy wearing sailor fuku until the bitter end, but... that hard fight was futile and all of us were taken hostage. However, the story didn't end here, because the pirates started using force on the hostages and didn't care about their well being. This made me lose control and I ended up doing something strange once again.
Ue-sama: You unexpectedly attacked this ship, giving in to evil ways by destroying and robbing. You attack the weak, pointing your blades at them, shouting that everything in the ocean is yours. You've got some nerve!
FX:*chicken bones attacking*
Wolfram: *scared* EEeegh... oh my[1], there are so many of them...
Conrad: Stay still, and they'll go past you.
Wolfram: This... is the first time I see... such a disgusting majutsu...
Ue-sama: Foolish pirates, it is not my wish to take lives but you leave me no choice, I'll end you! Judgement!
Yuuri(monologue): As 'judgement' was about to be passed on the pirates, a patrol ship arrived, and since our identities as mazoku were discovered, we were put in a cramped warehouse being used as a jail. Or so it seems. Even though I said 'so it seems' that's exactly what happened but I phrased it like that because I don't remember anything. At any rate, after using that strange power, I fell asleep. So there's no way that I, who was soundly asleep, would know what Conrad talked about with the others.
FX:*scene change*
Josak:*singing* If you fall in love with an island maiden, the Van der volcano will erupt. And even if you can't cross the ocean together, Look up and you'll see the same moon in the sky (Oh! Look at that sky!) Van, Van, Van der Via, the island of dreams. If you come here once, you'll never forget. ♫
FX:*kicks door open*
Josak: Sorry for making you wait, Lord Weller~!
Conrad: Josa, you're being too loud. You'll wake up his Majesty.
Josak: Oh, that was very rude, excuse me!
FX:*Wolf is gugupiiing as well*

Conrad:*sighs*
Josak: When you make that face you look exactly like your older brother.
Conrad: That's flattering to hear.
Josak: So, we have these lifesaver-kuns but since they're ma-powered devices, they need a good amount of maryoku, and then they can easily copy the looks of a person. It's a convenient built-in function.
Conrad: Don't you think it's useless to talk about this when the two of us have no maryoku?
Josak: But that's just you and me, right? However there are people here with strong maryoku... look... you have two of them under your arms.
Conrad: Wolfram can't do it. If he does that in a human territory he will get too weak .
Josak: Then, his Majesty.
Conrad: Cut it out.
Josak: Why? He has that incredible majutsu in him. Honestly, commander. I'm surprised. When I came home after a job far away, I found out there was a new Maou, and that you, who were leading the life of a retired soldier, were all excited about becoming his guard. On top of that, even my ever-hard-to-please eldest son-dono said: 'Go and protect his Majesty'.
Conrad: That's because Lord von Voltaire holds you in high esteem.
Josak: I've never heard that. And what I want to hear, you know? is whether the Mazoku will be all right having this unreliable Maou. Having been born and raised in a different world, he has no clue as to how things work here. He doesn't know how to use a sword or fight, he also can't command troops if there's a war. And although he's a soukoku, I heard that he can't even control his extremely powerful maryoku. I wonder why his Majesty Shinou, picked this half-assed Maou...
Conrad: Shut up. I won't stand any more of your irreverence.

Conrad: Yuuri is our chosen ruler.

Conrad: Josak!
Josak: But, there's more to being a Maou than simply having that title.
Conrad: Is that what Gwendal said?
Josak: Mh, no.
Conrad: If it's in my power, I really don't want you to become my enemy.
Josak: This time you're letting your guard down, that's unlike you. Well, let's stop (this pointless conversation). After all, I'm nothing but a low ranking soldier. I simply have to follow what the higher ups decide. But, look, right now, I was thinking about borrowing just a little bit (chokotto) of his Majesty Yuuri's maryoku to use on Anissina-chan's invention.
Conrad: You can't. You can't take his majesty's power when he's like this.
Josak: Oh, I see~.... Then, I'll wait until his Majesty opens his eyes and I'll ask for it, okay?
Conrad: *shouts* I told you to cut it out!
FX:*Yuuri's sleeping sounds*
Josak: You're so overprotective~! Aren't you making a mistake by protecting him like this? You should respect his opinion in this matter.
Conrad:*sighs* If you ask him... *tragic soundtrack* his Majesty won't say no. That's why I'm telling you not to do it. He, who doesn't know his limitations.... what will happen to him if he starts using too much maryoku while in human territories?
Josak: What are you afraid of, Lord Weller?
Conrad: What, you ask?
Josak: A maou's, furthermore, a soukoku maou's power is greater than that of any of the Shin Makoku's citizens. Isn't that what people say? And at any rate, what are you afraid of? Don't tell me that... you're afraid of losing him?

Josak: Ah, prince! Did you finally wake up?
Wolfram: An apparition... (t/n: He's talking about Josak)
Josak: Depressed~! What a mean thing to say to a beauty like this!!
Wolfram: *sleepy* Ah..... you're from big brother Gwendal's place...
Conrad: It's Gurrier Josak. Wolfram, you don't need to wake up. If you still need to sleep, please do so.
Wolfram: *grunts* Conrad.... EEEEEEEEEEEEH!?!!? What is this place!? Why are we in.... AHHHH! Yuuri! Why are you sleeping like that without my permission!?
Yuuri: *sleepy sounds*
Conrad: Shh! Be quiet, Wolfram. Don't interrupt his Majesty's sleep.
Wolfram: Then him to me. C'mon! I'll let him use my lap as a pillow!
Conrad: *giggles* I understand how you feel, but your legs will get numb.
Josak: *clears throat* I'm really sorry to interrupt, but I'll go back up. Since it seems that his Majesty is still sleeping, and I don't want to get in trouble here...
Wolfram: When are we leaving this place?
Conrad: We have to wait a little bit longer to get closer to Van der Via, so that the distance we'll have to make on a stolen boat is shorter.
Josak: Well, that will be in about half a day. Before that, I'll bring some food.*leaves*
Conrad: Josak?
Josak: Yes?
Conrad: There's no built-in function in this lifesaver-kun, you understand, right?

Josak: Ahhh, what a shame! And here I thought I could evaluate how a monitaa would react to Anissina-chan's new invention~!
Wolfram:* surprised/scared* Aa.... Anissina-chan[4]
Conrad: *sighs* Although you were so interested in finding out, you really couldn't evaluate it at all, right, Josak?[5]
FX:*Yuuri continues to sleep*

- ↑ This is the 'good grief' expression, but in this context it means' holy crap', but Wolf wouldn't say holy crap, and I can't think of nicer way of expressing it.
- ↑ This means he has Wolf sleeping on one side, and Yuuri on the other, both of them using Conrad's chest as a pillow. The phrase used by Josak is an idiom that means: 'having two girls fighting over you', but the literal meaning is: 'A flower in each hand', so it works.
- ↑ The 'it's coming for sure' phrase is from 'The Ring' , horror movie. Takabayashi-sensei uses it in her story Convert, in Walpurgis Nacht. Of course, there's no way Wolf would know about the movie.
- ↑ He's surprised/scared by both the fact that there's one of Anissina's devices there and also the '-chan' part
- ↑ Conrad means that Josak couldn't 'test' Yuuri to see if he's a good maou. The ma-powered device is just a means to an end to find out what he wants to know.
