Excavated into the hard, solid rock were several layers of overlapping passageways.

As crimson red flames whirled inside the institution- a young boy walked inside alone.

With his glossy black hair, he looked as if he was clad in the darkness itself.

His face had the innocence of a young girl, but his deep black pupils rejected all traces of emotion, and only the swaying flames were reflected on their lifeless surface.

Many skilled combatants were from the «Instructional School» institution, so there was no way that the young boy would know how it was annihilated in merely half a day.

Was it something caused by a Sylphid Knights' division belonging to the Empire, or was it simply an accident caused by a runaway Sealed Spirit?

The young boy, who was trained in combat skills by the instructional teacher, was nowhere to be found.

''He had escaped, or perhaps he was already dead.''

If they assumed that, the young boy would be unleashed and become a free man.

''It's fine no matter how, after going through such things...''

Deprived of a normal child's mindset, he had become indifferent to everything.

The Institution's instructional teacher had given it to him, their highest ranked sealed spirit — The Dark Spirit, Restia.

To his heart, which was engulfed in darkness, she was the shining light.

''She's the only one- I'll protect her unconditionally.''

Within the flaming interior, the boy's goal was the shrine in the institution's basement.

In the shrine of the «Instructional School» were many artifacts that were illegally excavated — Sealed spirits that could rival even a small nation's military strength were resting there.

Restia, who was sealed in a ring, would have been stored there.

On the boy's hand was the spirit carved seal which was proof of his spirit contract.

The teachers of the «Instructional school», afraid of his skills and powers, allowed him to reach the spirit.

A male with the power to contract a spirit — he was someone with the potential to become the Demon King.

That was what the instructors were afraid of the most - him rebelling, along with the highest Dark Spirit.

"Hey, Onii-sama!"

The sound of a girl came from behind. There was only one person who would call him ''onii-sama''.

"Muir?"

The youth turned around, and saw the young girl behind him. Coal-black hair, piercing green eyes and rose-like lips. The flesh which wasn't concealed by her dark battle gear appeared to be snow white.

"Muir, you still haven't escaped?"

"Because I had to find onii-sama!"

Muir Alenstarl replied with a red face.

No matter what, the youth was an orphan without a sister.

"Onii-sama" was the name she called him with.

"What happened to the others that were watching?"

"Eliminated."

She answered with a flicker of her eyebrow.

"It's because they would cause problems while I'm searching for onii-sama."

A proud murderer without remorse.

"So it became like this..."

If it was necessary for the job to kill somebody - things like that were not unheard of.

No, there was little guilt for the murdered comrades.

A girl, who was taught to become a weapon- in a way, he was the same.

Muir Alenstarl was the «Instructional School»'s second most powerful warrior. In this place full of monsters, she was called a «monster».

Lily Flame was the seventh member of Muir's group.

"That incredible Lava spirit that attacked the facility several weeks ago."

With flames coiling all around its body, the monster slowly approached.

Muir licked the ring on her finger.

It looked like she was planning to use her military level spirit against it.

"Muir, that spirit is not something a human can defeat."

"No problem. Muir isn't a human, Muir is a monster."

Muir's right hand glowed with her Mark of Contract.

No, it was not a Spirit Seal, but a Cursed Armament Seal.
