For those who have never read my work before, nice to meet you! And for those who have, it’s been a long time!

Yuuki Rin here, this time entrusted by Capcom and Famitsu Bunko with the task of writing the novelization of Monster Hunter!

Anyhow, I love “dragons”. That includes the Chinese and Japanese dragons, European dragons from the mythologies, and even dinosaurs.

Since I was a child, I would go to dinosaur-related exhibitions and imagine what it was like during the ancient times as I stared at those giant skeletons.

Even now, I would go to the Tokyo National Museum located in Ueno Park to look at the dinosaur fossil exhibitions, given the chance.

The new exhibitions after the museum’s renovation are wonderful!

The dinosaurs’ massive sizes feel so real. I think if I were to stand in front of a Rathalos, I would have the same feeling.

Moreover, if I find any movie that has “dragons” in it, I’ll watch it. Like Dragonslayer or Jurassic Park. 

But my favorite would have to be Dragonheart! If you play Monster Hunter, I recommend you to check the movie out.

While writing this work, Capcom’s development team has provided me with quite a lot of material, including the guild’s relationship with the kingdom, the existence of Guild Knights, and the hunters’ way of thinking towards nature. I also never knew that the receptionist who has been giving me quests in the city is named Becky.

As a player, I would like to thank Capcom for making such a game that effectively emulates the fear and satisfaction of fighting against those giant wyverns. 

I’ve been racking up my brain from playing it vigorously every day.

(Right now, I’m farming Earth Crystals offline to make the Eager Cleaver.)
