Volume 9, Chapter 4  


    No matter what happened to me, time wouldn't stop, just kept on moving along as usual. 

It didn't give me a chance to adjust. In other words, school was over in a flash. From then on, 

I stayed in the boys' club. If I didn't become a woman, I'd be able t o find some peace of mind. 

I'd been dragged into unnecessary things again, and I wouldn't be able to handle it if I didn't 

settle down. So, after all the classes were over, I didn't leave the classroom. But then that 

guy, Higashida, said, "What's wrong? Th ere's no investigation fee." That wasn't the case.  


    I made a promise without considering the circumstances, and that's how it ended. It was 

all my fault, though.  


    So, what should I do next? Normally, I'd definitely go with Kaede Sakura, but that would 

mean I'd be standing up to Akane Mishima and probably make her cry. Kondou Mikoto might 

even try to snake me. I was lucky Shizuku wasn't among them.  


    Since there wouldn't be any answers even if I worried, I decided to go out for a walk.  


    The boys' club's building had only been built a few years, but it looked rundown and old. 

The windows on the first floor, in particular, were not properly installed, so many of them 

wouldn't close. There were a few troublemakers who came and went there . Some people 

complained that the school didn't care, but somehow, no thieves had ever come in, so it had 

been left alone. Another theory was that the ghost of a student who had committed suicide 

after being dumped by a girl was sneaking in and out of the window late at night, acting as a 

deterrent.  


    After a few rounds, I decided to go to the library. I had to go through there to get to the 

girls' section. The downside was that it was above the student council's territory. There was a 

woman I wasn't good with. It was obvious who it was.  


    I climbed out of the corner window on the first floor. I didn't want my behavior to be 

known. My frequent visits to the library lately had people wondering, "Have you suddenly 

become so studious, or are you up to something?" Was it really that strange for me to come 

here to study?  


    I changed my shoes into slippers under a tree and returned to the library the same way I'd 

come before anyone noticed. Could I possibly do that? Of course, I just had to take my shoes 

out of the shoe box and prepare them.  


    Luckily, no one noticed me, and I successfully sneaked into the library. I looked around, but 

there wasn't a single student inside. The library was still under construction. It was originally 

supposed to be finished during summer vacation, but the deco rators must have been 

slacking off. Everything was covered in blue vinyl wallpaper, perfect for a secret conversation 

or a tryst.  


    Now came the problem. Should I go to the girls' club to see Kondou Mikoto, Kaede Sakura, 

or Akane Mishima?  


    At first glance, it seemed like a luxury, but in reality, it was a difficult, agonizing choice.  


    "Hmm..."  


    It wasn't so much a worry as a desire for a quick conclusion. I could leave what I could do 

today for tomorrow. But that didn't work either; the answer came automatically.  


    "Natsuru -san," Akane Mishima trotted over from the library counter.  


    "Are you here to pick me up? I'm so happy," I said, using all my acting skills, "Of course," 

and smiled.  


    Akane Mishima tilted her head.  


    "Do you have a cavity? Your face is cramping..."  


    Anyway, that's about as good as my acting gets. I remembered the elementary school 

performance, where I was just squatting there, impersonating a stone.  


    But the teacher said, "I've never seen such a restless stone." Acting was supposed to be a 

special skill reserved for a select few.  


    "Ah, that's not it," Akane Mishima said, as if pondering a question, but she couldn't seem 

to grasp the point.  


    "It'll be done soon. Please sit there and wait."  


    "If the library is busy, there's no need to make a special request..."  


    I wanted to say that we didn't have to go back together, but Akane Mishima kept on 

nagging me.  


    "It's okay. It'll be done soon."  


    What did it mean? I wasn't sure what it meant, but I felt a sense of pressure from her.  


    Akane Mishima worked intently for a few minutes before coming out.  


    "Huh? Finished?"  


    "Yes, because the administrator's speech dragged on, we're done for today," she said, as if 

struck by something. What a resolute attitude.  


    "Let's go," she said, her schoolbag in both hands, and started towards the stairs.  


    "Hey? Aren't we going to the school gate?"  


    "What are you talking about? Aren't we going to say hello to the president?"  


    "Welcome?" She emphasized the word "greet." It seemed rather annoying.  


    We entered the student council floor. The hallway was deserted. There used to be a girl 

named Kuzuhara who acted like a watchdog, but it seems she doesn't anymore.  


    Akane Mishima knocked on the door and entered the student council office.  


    "Excuse me."  


    Only Shizuku was inside. She seemed to be looking over documents, probably applications 

for student club activities. She handled everything from the hallway lights to the soccer balls.  


    "Akane Mishima -san and... Senou -kun? That's rare."  


    Perhaps it was rare for two people to come to the student council office together. 

Especially since I hated coming here.  


    "What's up?"  


    "We're going back now," Akane Mishima continued with a smile.  


    "President, you look busy, so we'll just go back."  


    Then Akane Mishima took my hand.  


    Shizuku's eyebrow twitched slightly. The others probably didn't understand the horror of it. 

But we, who had been tricked so badly by her before, could sense it.  


    "Two of you?"  


    "Yes."  


    Akane Mishima didn't let go of her smile.  


    "Really?"  


    Shizuku seemed to lose interest and returned her gaze to the documents.  


    "Please be careful on your way back. It would be troublesome if the school found out."  


    "...President, is that all you have to say?"  


    Akane Mishima seemed surprised.  


    "Nothing else?"  


    "I'm going back with Natsuru -kun."  


    "I can see Senou -kun too. He's not a ghost."  


    "Yes, you're going back with me."  


    Akane Mishima applied a little pressure to her hand. Shizuku didn't even glance at her.  


    "President, you're so busy."  


    "Because everyone's leaving the work to me. And there are those who don't understand 

the hardship of others and go home with men."  


    Ha. Besides us? It's really frustrating from Shizuku's perspective. If the school finds out, the 

student council will be the first to be blamed.  


    What should I do? Beneath her voice grew hard.  


    "President, you're going back alone, how pitiful."  


    "I don't need any sympathy, I have a boyfriend."  


    "Is that so? That boyfriend must be holding hands with someone else right now."

    The atmosphere was getting increasingly tense. There was really no way I could deal with

    Beneath the president's gaze, Akane Mishima's words clearly declared, "Then we're going 

back. 'We'."  


    "Please close the door when you go back," Shizuku replied nonchalantly. Akane Mishima

separate.

entrance."

    I understood and returned to the boys' section. I ran towards the gate from somewhere. I

school always spends money on the girls first, then the boys. So no ma tter what, we were 

always in the back of the queue. But they seemed to have considered the distribution of 

supplies; some of the items were newer than the girls'. The old, warped items were just used 

as they pleased.  


    The gate wasn't new at all; it was still tattered. No need for this place; half the foundation 

would be enough. There was no one there. It's not that everyone hates school, it's just that 

I'm late because I did something stupid in the student council o ffice. The guys in the club 

activities must be practicing like crazy.

    "I'm waiting for you," that person, Kaede Sakura, smiled softly.

    "Let's go home."

    "Natsuru hates violent women!"  


    "Shut up!" But just as Akane Mishima was about to pull the trigger, she suddenly stopped. 

Two daggers pressed against the muzzle.  


    "If you hold them down here, you'll be invincible!" Shizuku had already transformed. Her 

weapons were two chain daggers, a Kämpfer type wielding the Gewehr sword. Kondou 

Mikoto was stunned when she saw this scene. She had no idea when the president 

transformed.

    After saying that, she turned to Kondou Mikoto and said, "You think so too, right?"

what Kaede Sakura will do to Natsuru." Akane Mishima made a "tsk" sound and put away her 

gun. Shizuku also put away her dagger.

transformed.  


    "But do I really need to transform?" (ps: What this means is that she thinks she is powerful

    "Chasing is a very physically demanding job, so transforming is probably better," Shizuku 

said. Her stamina had indeed improved dramatically since transforming into Kämpfer.
