===Track 9: The Maou's birth===



FX: *explosions*

Wolfram: It's burning down completely. The fire is too powerful.

Yuuri: Why did they do this...? Just because they wanted some food... I was sure that a mazoku who despised humans had attacked this village out of hate.

Wolfram: Why would we do that? This has been mazoku land since the beginning. Setting a fire causes wildlife and vegetation loss. Besides, look at the fire that has even reached the forest! That's not something that can be restored in a year or two.

Yuuri: You mazoku hating on humans is not a good thing, but it's not like I can't understand it. However, why would humans fighting other humans?

Conrad: Then, on the world your majesty is from, Earth, humans don't fight each other?

Yuuri: That's....

FX:*horse neighs*

Gwendal: Adalbert fed this man lies to provoke him.

Yuuri: Gwendal!

Gwendal: It's no wonder that they were so skilled. Former soldiers who had lost their way were definitely involved. It seems there was a fire wielder among them. That's why the fire is so powerful.

Conrad: There's no sign of it weakening at all. We sent a message with one of the kotsuhizoku near noon, but it will take some time until a water magic user arrives. Until then, please, hold on somehow.  But we have to protect the forest no matter what."

Gwendal: So, until those guys come to help, we can only watch? 

Yuuri: Eh?

Gwendal: Or are you going to suppress the flames roaring over this village with that amazing water magic like that one time, your majesty?

Yuuri: What do you mean by.... water magic?

Wolfram: Older brother, it seems this guy can't remember what happened.  He was only able to do it unconsciously. It was a miracle that you can't call anything but luck. In other words, the Yuuri we have now not only can't handle swords or magic, but he's an amateur even at riding horses.

Yuuri: A miracle? Me? What kind of incredible miracle did I cause?

Gwendal: Anyhow, if you can't be useful then at least stay out of the way. Someone! Come and take these men away!

Wolfram: Older brother, is this attack on our land a reason for a proclamation of war?

Gwendal: ...Well, it's a good enough reason.

Yuuri: 'A proclamation of war'!? Wait a moment. You're going to wage war because of this!? This isn't a joke ! Do something!

Gwendal: Think about it from different sides, Wolfram. Not a single regular soldier joined them. We have no proof. We need something certain.

Yuuri: Wait.... Listen to me!

Wolfram: Do you mean that they can do what they want to remote regions of the country while we sit back and watch quietly?

Yuuri: You guys, listen! 

FX:*pacifist fighter music*

Yuuri: Do you know what 'defense-only policies' are!? Anyhow, it means just protecting yourselves! It means never fighting yourself! Do you know that modern day Japan abandoned war for pacifism? And that it's even written clearly into the constitution!? Being a Japanese person born and raised in Japan, of course I oppose war, too, not just 'oppose' but 'strongly oppose'!

Gwendal: Don't shout

Yuuri: And despite that, what are you talking about? You're saying that you're going to be quiet about this on purpose until you can find more evidence!? Discuss it, discuss it with the other party! 

Gwendal: Don't shout, foreigner from a different world!

Yuuri: No, I'll shout! I'm allowed to shout! Even if you tell me to shut up I'll keep saying it: I oppose war, completely oppose, I'll oppose it my whole life, even in death I oppose it!

Gwendal: So you've died once?

Yuuri: Of course not!

Gwendal: You who has no interest in becoming the king, don't you dare say anything about our country! I have a duty to defend Shin Makoku, and an obligation to consider our national interest. The exaggerated ethics and lukewarm methods might be fine for place you call 'Japan' that you grew up in. But this is our place and mazoku have mazoku methods!

Yuuri: Then.... I'll change that! I'll change the mazoku ways from scratch!

Wolfram: Yuuri...

Yuuri: What those guys did was wrong, of course, but you can't let them take you down to their level. At least, ' we' have to do the right thing. Going to war is wrong!

Conrad: Your majesty

Yuuri: If the king says they can't go to war, citizens would obey that right? Then, I'll become the maou! I'll become Shin Makoku's king!!

FX: *explosion*

Yuuri: What... ?*gasp*

Criminal: Don't move! Nobody move, if you move I'll cut this guy's throat.

Gwendal: Bastard.... you human....

Criminal: You're acting like you're dying but aren't you the brat who said you're the maou right in front of us? However it seems you're no good with swords or magic...

Yuuri: I can't help it....

Criminal: Well, whatever. Even if you're not the maou, I need to take you along to earn a ton of money. There aren't two people born in this world like you, a soukoku. They say you can gain eternal life if you get a person with black hair and eyes and there are people who'll pay a load of money for that. So get on the horse!

Brandon: Cut it out!

Yuuri: Brandon!

FX:*runs and takes the guy down*

Criminal: You damn brat!

FX:* guy cuts Brandon* *horse neighs*

Yuuri monologue: At that moment I wasn't sure of what had just happened. The man who threatened me with a sharp knife had fallen at Conrad's feet, covered in fresh blood. I, who had fallen off the horse, was unharmed, thanks to Gwendal who took the blow for me. And then, the person who had helped me, was lying on the floor next to the flames that were approaching. He was so shocked he couldn't move.

FX:*flames*

Yuuri: Brandon....

Wolfram: The flames are too close, Yuuri!

Conrad: Yuuri, it's too dangerous, let me.

Yuuri: No! Brandon!

Brandon: ...Your majesty...

Yuuri: You don't have to call me 'your majesty'.

Brandon:...But, you're... going to... become the king... right? You'll... protect us...?

Yuuri: Yeah, I'll protect this village. I'll protect you guys and everyone. I promise, I'll protect you no matter what.

Brandon: Will you... t... teach me, how... to pitch?

Yuuri: Yeah!!! I promise!

FX:*thunder, rain*
