==Installation==

Asama Tomo

Asama has no model from the history recreation. If I had to choose someone, I suppose it would be the priests who worked at the Asama Shrine at the time.

The Asama Shrine is located on Okutama, and there is an Asama Shrine in the real Okutama just a bit into the mountains. When I discovered that connection, I decided to go with the Asama Shrine, which also has Matsudaira origins, as Musashi’s main shrine, but if a different shrine existed there, I imagine major parts of the story would have played out differently. The god watching over the protagonists is an important part of a fantasy story, huh?

As a character, she is a childhood friend of Toori and Kimi too.

This began with their parents’ friendship, so she would be the person Toori is closest to if not for Horizon.

Her parents taught her well, she has excellent spell skills, and her archery skills are thanks to those spells. She is top class when it comes to skill with and knowledge of phenomena related to ether or Shinto.

With Hanami’s assistance, she can quickly complete her daily chores, but she tends to leave the Western-style chores to Toori, Kimi, etc.

But she excels at the Far Eastern ones, so with her in charge of the cleaning and such, the Main Blue Thunder will become a bit more of a Far Eastern home.

Her position as the Asama Shrine Representative gives her a fair amount of influence in Musashi. She is something like a government minister in charge of infrastructure, so she can instantly make changes to the Musashi’s settings and Hanami is constantly making optimizations.

That said, she does not wield that power freely because her personality as a shrine maiden makes her earnest and incapable of lying (except when it comes to private matters). She is also so busy she has little understanding of political matters she is not directly involved in.
During her leisure time and her everyday life with Toori and the rest, she returns to being an ordinary person.


Because she is a shrine maiden and because of her skills and position as the mature one, I designed her to have a lot of grown-up elements that contrast with Kimi’s.
I knew she would often be standing next to Mitotsudaira, so I often just went with the opposite route from her.
She is the only person with long black hair in Class Plum, so I made sure that silhouette remained intact when she was in her combat form.
Her shrine maiden outfit was a design I had been drawing before this, but it was well received and has become the “face” of this series along with the Far Eastern uniforms. It gets drawn a lot, so I’m glad I made the sleeves and skirts detachable…
