Can I replace β with beta because that's how it's been written in the other volumes plus that's how it's commonly written on the net. That's a thought... but... then you'd have to go through all the chapters and everything and so it's more feasible to change one chapter. Also, Japanese is a compact language where they're willing to do a lot to make the sentences shorter, whether while speaking or writing. So that's probably the reason for the β Tester. Writing it as Beta Tester fits English more which is a language that covers much more ''area'' (for lack of a better word). I've seen the raw of both First Day & Aria SS which had many references to the word 'Beta Tester', in vol.1 and Aria SS, author used the word beta test normally, but in the First Day, it's the only SS (as far as I know anyway) that he used 'β'.
