Every time I come back to this page, I'm so happy to see that you're still doing translations. I love reading about Kino and Hermes's travels so much, and I can't thank you enough for staying on this project so diligently. Rock on! Hi, and thanks for the encouragement! I myself couldn't believe that I've been keeping at this for three years now (well almost). On the other hand, I'm also disappointed that I haven't caught up with all volumes yet, but anyway... I'll keep working on it! ^_^ Ella.servantes (talk) 02:26, 21 January 2015 (CST)

Thank you so much for translating volume 11's last chapter. I can't wait to start reading it. I want to know what will happen to master Shizu, Riku and Ti in their journey. Thank you so much for everything, Ella. Greetings from México. --Schwars (talk) 13:17, 2 April 2014 (CDT)

Um, Ella, can you translate vol.11 afterwords? Somebody in the front page's discussion section is nagging about it... BloodyKitty (talk) 04:27, 24 March 2014 (CDT)

Muchas gracias! ^_^ Ella.servantes (talk) 08:40, 10 December 2013 (CST)

You're welcome and thanks! Um... I can't say I haven't considered that idea, but it's very unlikely (I only read volume 1, but I haven't transcribed or translated it because 1) most of the chapters in that book are very long... 2) I already know what's in them because of the anime 3) there are lots of volumes left to work on.) However, I've always thought a copy of volume 1 has to appear somewhere on the net at some point... People just keep asking about volume 1. Gosh I personally do want to read it too, but in Japanese, since I might nitpick the changed details in the Tokyo Pop version, and it might take a long while for me to get any better at reading Japanese. How long have you study Japanese, Ella-san? Also it seems you have been quite busy lately. Me as well, since I must finish my work to graduate from school in the next February. Don't stress yourself too much :). I wish you good luck. BloodyKitty (talk) 02:22, 22 December 2013 (CST)

It's been so long, BloodyKitty! Wow, this February already? Good luck on the home stretch of your studies! Yup, unfortunately, busy enough that I have to put aside our beloved series... and indeed, all the questions about volume 1 frustrate me to no end... >_<

Learning Japanese... hmm, there's no exact answer... because even though I learned my first vocabulary and hiragana 12 years ago, in reality the time devoted for active learning (as in doing lessons and practicing on a regular basis) is actually less than a year: 5 months when I took a 6-unit language elective in university, and the rest from self study sessions that took anywhere from 3 days to 2 months (for some reason, I couldn't last any longer than that, but I'm still trying -_-). I think many learners become comfortable with listening and dictionary/hiragana-assisted reading early on in their studies (especially those who immerse themselves in Japanese media), but learning how to write and speak fluently... that's a different matter altogether, at least for me... Greetings. Sorry for the wait. I already spent my day's quota and have to wait for my night's quota to do this. |<!-- I'm sorry that I don't reply to your previous reply. Hopefully your wishes did come true. -->|<br/>

Anyway, here are the mediafire links for the pdf, please check them when you're not busy:<br/>

Volume 10: http://www.mediafire.com/?9gzg6qenjx4b9wh <br/>

Volume 10 (Lite): http://www.mediafire.com/?od2jayhmd747aau <br/>

Volume 10 (Minimum): http://www.mediafire.com/?p890dcr2eokc8zd <br/>

I'm worried about chapter 7's format. Are those initial lines (14 if I'm not mistaken) placed before the chapter's image and title as in Untuned String's blog? Speaking of image, it's unusual that there is no back cover image this time |<!-- I hope I don't offend you by the way I typed my words before. It's just that I'm curious about what the the author will use as his image (forget what that is called) in the back cover -->|.

Ah, for the links, would you prefer to be directed to the download page or the view page when you clicked one of them? I know that it's just a simple matter of adding '/view' in the middle the url, yet I want to know which is more convenient for you and the others. I might create an account and share it via torrent as well to provide another variety and/or for backup purpose.

By the way, as I'm still unsure whether to post this here or on the forum, I opt to post on both. Sorry to clutter your talk page like this.|<!-- Please pardon me for overly apologizing, or lack of. Ah, I feel even more worried that I might offend someone one of these days... -->| -/-User753-Talk- 22:36, 15 September 2013 (CDT)

Hello, sorry for the late reply. Quota? So you're the organized type, huh? Glad to hear Kino's on the schedule... ^_^ <!--Ahaha, don't worry about it! Yes, I hope they're granted soon...-->

The pdf's look great to me, thanks as always. :D Yes. Those lines really come before the chapter opener. (Maybe the author's trying out strange formats again). And unfortunately, Volume 10 is the one book that have incomplete scans, I couldn't find a pic of the back cover no matter how hard I tried. <!--Not at all, I'm actually expecting this question. Unfortunately, I don't own a copy of this volume, else I would have scanned the cover myself... -_- (And BTW, as ethics dictate, I shouldn't be translating something I don't own, but...<_<)-->

I prefer seeing the download page immediately because my connection's slow and the pdf takes too long a time to load on the browser (slower than downloading the file itself). But that's just me. We can always click on the download button to get to the download page, so I think either way's fine. :) Oh, a torrent would be great (I promise I'll seed forever). <!--As for talk pages, I'm more worried that I should be "cluttering" your page instead. Do you prefer I write to your page when I reply? I only realized lately (i.e, after more than a year of being here) that it seems rude of me to write replies to messages for me on my own page, but I want to know what you prefer (since some might like their talk pages clean and all).--> I heard (read) somewhere that they prefer the wiki to be clean of links, so maybe it's a good idea to post the links on the forums from now on, and post them on the main page and download page once it's finalized. (And hopefully, it can liven up the thread too) Ella.servantes (talk) 16:44, 17 September 2013 (CDT)

If only I am that type of person. Sadly it's about my modem's quota. Well, it's not too late to start being organized now. Though Kino is indeed included in my priority list (about 1.4 if I'm not mistaken. From the scale of 0-5).

Ah, thanks. I was worried that I did it wrong. Well, the absence of author's note and the content of 'chapter 5:author note in disguise' (pardon the bad naming) are some indicators alright. |<!-- .^_^ Indeed. Though as TLG's disclaimer's said, we're still in the borderline-... well, sort off. -->|

I see, same here. I'll continue with the current then. Ah, so do I. I'll start preparing for it then, hopefully I can figure it out soon.|<!-- Probably the toughest one is about not getting DMCA notice or the like. So maybe I have to start changing IP regularly or something like that. I'll try to manage somehow. As for talk pages-... I ended up copying your words without realizing it... Oh well. I'm fine either way. And quoting a certain somebody's words in meaning, 'that's what talk page is for'. Well, if it's a direct quote, it'll be "A talk page is there for people to fill out, that's what I think." Though to be a little extreme, I can use a personality or two that I have copied and reply with "A clean talk page is a useless talk page" or "A clean talk page is an unused talk page, and thus useless." .^^ -->|. I agree.Well then, how about I post the links and most of the question there, and give you a notification here through your talk page? |<!-- Well, maybe I'll ask some things to you through private message. Or hidden in my post with the color code.-->|.<span style="color:#E1EBF2">As I did previously here. By the way, the color code I used here is what I use in the forum to disguise it. For the wiki it will be...</span><span style="color:#ffffff">This one. With 'E1EBF2' replaced with 'ffffff'.</span> Well, aside from the suspicious amount of space between words, I think it's a viable option. Though my words won't make a sense here if it's not read through the edit page or talk page's history. As if my words do make sense if it's read entirely... Well, half-joking aside, see you in the forum soon. Of course that means BloodyKitty and Dammitt and Kino fans as well, and everyone else reading this <!-- (as for bots and crawlers... Ah, no need to mix that story's paranoia fuel here)-->. -/-User753-Talk- 22:02, 17 September 2013 (CDT)

Oh, giving a rating of 1.4 instead of an integer (and including 0 in the choices?)... Interesting... :)<!--Wow, it's really prudent of you to think of changing IP's. Is there a digital copyright law thingy in effect in your country? (Like police come rushing into your apartment a few days after your illegal upload? Or am I just watching too much fictional stuff... 0_0) Um... that sounds so familiar... wait I'm the one who wrote that. I take it that I should write my replies to your talk page from now on? Fine then, next time I'll make sure to defile your talk page. >:D (Considered writing this very reply there, but was reminded that part of the reason why I don't write in it is that it's so organized... I'm such a coward)--> Sure, let's make full use of the forums from now on. <!--Well, your words make sense, at least to me, so you can lessen your worry by a drop.--> Ella.servantes (talk) 20:34, 18 September 2013 (CDT)

Unless I hack into governmental site or something that cause problem/unrest (which is funny, as I don't even have the required knowledge to hack or crack yet). Nah, it's really up to you. *gulp* D-defile...? Wha- organized? ... So it still make sense... Good news then. Thank you.-->|

Welcome back, Dammitt. Ah, I'd love to-... like to see it as well. Please do upload it when you're not busy.

Hehe ^^, I know that. I just put it that way so that it won't disturb ones that don't want to read that or be bothered by writings of things unrelated to projects that're way longer than project talk. But if it's done too formally, the joy in translating and such will be lessened, won't it? So does the feeling of being in a community. Beside, personally speaking, almost every; if not all; Kino no Tabi's author's note are funny in the least, and hilarious at best. So why not follow the current? <!-- I almost sound like a moodsetter, don't I? Oh well, sometime, a lively environment is better... I don't see many people doing that. If they do use decimals, most would use 1.5 instead (so in a rating system of 1-5, that will consist of 9 levels) By using 1.4, that tells me that your rating system has at least 41 levels (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and so on until 5.0)But since you include 0, that makes an additional 10 levels. See why I find it so interesting? ^_^ <!--An access blockage huh... Makes me realize that internet in my country is still at its toddler stage. Regulations on the internet are still in the making here... Don't worry, by that I only mean I'm going to write somewhere in your page. Hi there, I have just started reading Kino no Tabi recently, and I highly appreciate your translation - it's really awesome. Thanks for working so hard on it :D Btw, one of my fellow Vietnamese is interested in this novel and would like to translate it (into Vietnamese, of course), so I want to ask if you can give us permisson to use the version on B-T as the source? I really want to give you a properly long good-bye, but honestly I can't properly tell my feelings right now. It would take a lot of love to devote so much for a series with not many followers as this and yet you keep up with this mostly on your own, despite it eating your time from keeping up with your RL duties. All the things you did for this series have been so great and inspiring. I can understand that RL responsibilities can be really taxing so I hope all things work out the best for you. I wish you happiness and success in whatever you do. Thank you, thank you so much for everything. Just in case you miss this, somebody also gave you thanks through my Kino's blog since they mistook me as you, so I tried to make things clear and delivered you their message.
