Taking the impact of his smile from such a close range, Taiga was out of it, just picking off rice that was sticking to her fingertips using her nails.
Reword to something like this?
Taking the impact of his smile from such a close range, Taiga was knocked out of it and started to absent-mindedly pick off rice that was sticking to her fingertips using her nails.
