The Moryo Detective Will Not Be Deceived (魍魎探偵今宵も騙らず Moryo Tantei Koyoi mo Katarazu) is a light novel written Keishi Ayasato and drawn by Mont Blanc.
Synopsis[edit]
“The cases related to the Deceptive Spirits (yokai) of the Mountains and Rivers– Is there any kind of human deception here?”
Five years have passed since the everlasting world ‘Tokoyo’ and the human world connected. The human world has changed drastically. And the deceptive spirits of the mountains and rivers, more commonly known as yokai, have appeared everywhere, creating chaos. Of course, crimes involving Yokai never cease. And there will inevitably be people who make their living solving these crimes.

Tonight, the man known as "The Moryo Detective", and his assistant, a beautiful girl, are on their way to solve a case involving Yokai.
A letter from a new client read, "I am a mermaid. If I don't do something, I will be eaten. Please help me.” However, at the old mansion where they arrived, it appears that the mermaid had already been eaten years ago......
What is the truth behind the case that the Moryo detective has to solve?
