In the first sentence of the Prologue, why isn't the word "'''them'''" omitted? Isn't its usage repetitious since "them" and "to those" refer to the same classification of people? | |||

In the first sentence of the Prologue, why isn't the word "them" omitted? Isn't its usage repetitious since "them" and "to those" refer to the same classification of people?
