:It's not the same. Astaroth is "アシュタロス". This is how it's spelled in the chapter "Demon Astaroth's Arrival!!". Asutarou is "明日太郎". This is how it's spelled in dream-Yozora's line "Persistent wretch―― I think it's about time I show you my true form! Asutarou Mode!". "アシュタロス" and "明日太郎" are clearly two different things. The first is pronounced "Ashutarosu" and the second is pronounced "Asutarou". I think it's supposed to be Yozora saying it wrong, because she has always said it wrong before. They are definitely not meant to be the same. |

Well I dont want to keep beating a dead (or demon) horse, nor do I want to keep fighting an edit war. I understand that the literal translation is Asutarou. But that is equivalent to Astaroth, and the name Astaroth was already used in two previous chapters titles in the novel, instead of Asutarou. It is the same demon each time that is the point. In volume 3 one chapter is titled "Astaroth appears". In volume 5 another chapter is titled "Amusement Park~ Astaroth chapter". The horse-headed demon character Astaroth, that Kodaka sees in the amusement park is the same demon he is dreaming about in the time machine. It does not make sense for Kodaka to be dreaming about a different horse demon with a different name. Kodaka dreams about Yozora turning into Astaroth because she was the first one to wear the horse head (and she scares Maria by acting like a demon) in volume 3, and he had just seen the demon horse again a few days earlier when they went to the amusement park.
Its OK if you use Asutarou for these 3 appearances or if you use Astaroth, but isn't it simpler to change it in one place instead of also having to change 2 chapter titles? Just be consistent with all three, since it makes less sense otherwise. Astaroth and Asutarou are 2 different words for the same horse head demon, can't we agree to use just one?
