How to Eat Life (いのちの食べ方 Inochi no Tabekata) is a light novel written by Eve, Jyumonji Ao, and drawn by Lack. It is based on the song of the same name and follows the main protagonist of the songs, Tobi Otogiri.
Synopsis
The world of music & PVs from famous artist Eve has been turned into a novel! Tobi Otogiri is in the second year of junior high school. He does not get involved with his classmates much and spends his days talking in secret with his partner, Baku, a backpack left behind by a strange One-Eyed Man on the day he and his brother were separated. "You talk to that bag a lot, don't you, Tobi-kun?" However, it is discovered that his secret has been revealed to his classmate, Ryuuko Shiratama. As Tobi's daily life begins to change, an accident occurs in class. It seems that the cause of the accident lies in something "non-human" that only Tobi and Ryuuko are able to see... This is an adventure of one boy's confrontation with reality and the extraordinary, "human" and "non-human" entities more commonly known as "zingai". This is a story of how to eat "life".
