Rain leisurely tosses a bag of luggage in the back of a horse drawn carriage, it makes a loud noise that startles the woman holding the reigns.

  +
"Let's go." she says as she gets in.
With the group dried up and rested, they walk northbound a few more miles until they reach a rather large city. This city is surrounded by green grass and a seemingly infinite amount of different colored flowers, the buildings are quaint and are made with both wood, stone and grass.

  +
The carriage woman snaps the reigns and the horses begin to move.
After entering the town, they find that it is bustling with a large festival that seems to be celebrating numerous large statues of Pagan deities. Entering the town square, one can see the similarities between this place and that of middle aged northern Europe. Merchants, both on horse drawn carriages and merchants with their own shops closely occupy the place. Bars, restaurants, motels and outdoor food stands are in or around every other building.

  +
It's a half day's travel to the division that she'll be leading, so she decides to shut her eyes and try to sleep the time away when she hears a loud thud from the back of her seat. She turns to look at the source and sees a large duffle bag. Before she can ask herself who's bag it is, her question is answered when the carriage door opens and in comes Dice.
Napoleon bumps into, and knocks over an obvious drunkard, he lifts the man up and says his apologies.

  +
"What are you doing?" she asks.
The man burps and raises his wine glass in the air while shouting, "Don't worry about it! I barely spilled a drop!"

  +
Dice smiles and replies, "You didn't think I'd actually let you go to war by yourself did you?"
Napoleon's eyes water when the stench of alcohol from the man's breath enters his nose, he takes a step back and asks, "If you don't mind me asking, what is this festival for?"

  +
Rain sighs and replies, "Part of me didn't think you would, but all of me was hoping for it. Let me guess, this was your bargaining chip for your parents to consider me in doing this right?"
The man starts laughing a loud drunken laugh and replies, "Ohh? You guys are from outta town eh? Well this is the first day of a week long celebration for the God of Harvest!"

  +
"That's right!"
"Harvest God? Well thank you."

  +
In Eiyalazo, it is the job of the Prince to experience battle for PR points. Though he will certainly not fight, the propagandists will say that he did, and valiantly at that. This kind of thing results in the support of the people, all be it the Royals think of their citizens as primitive commoners; they understand how important it is to be in good favor with the masses.
"No problem kind sir! Get drunk and be merry! She won't bless us next season unless she sees that all of us are celebrating to our maximum potential!"

  +
Dice used this tactic to convince his parents for Rain's military exemption, and to add on to that he used this for his own personal need in wanting to ensure Rain's safety.
Napoleon waves goodbye as the man sings a song while he stumbles off into the crowd. He walks to Ubica and says, "Worshiping such gods as this, would it classify as something that will keep these people from being accepted back to Aires?"

  +
"Tch." Rain clicks her tongue in annoyance.
Ubica looks a little disappointed when he answers, "Unfortunately yeah... Though these people don't know about religion for the most part, they can experience things that would normally be counted as luck, and turn it into the influence of a god quite easily."

  +
By him doing this it almost completely hinders her plan in personally taking revenge on whoever assassinated her father.
Napoleon is quite interested in what he has to say and listens intensively as he continues.

  +
She leans back and looks out of the window, completely ignoring his presence, her doing this makes the half day long ride very awkward for the pitiful prince.
"The thing about this kind of idolization is that the chances are, this so called God of Harvest is likely to be a real deity. These deities, whether malicious or not can tempt people into losing their second chance at life by the mere sight of them.... It has always been said that belief and faith can be a man's worst blunder."

"Well can't you stop them somehow?"

Ubica reveals a strained smile and replies, "Something like that is out of my realm of work, I'm not a Prophet."

  +
-------------------------
As soon as he says this his body jolts and he puts his hand on his head.

Napoleon sees his odd reaction and asks, "Is something wrong?"

Ubica takes a deep breath and looks away. "It's nothing... I just remembered a certain someone that I hadn't thought about in a while..."

  +
The sun is close to setting and there has yet to be a word spoken between the two, the silence was so bad it even made the driver cringe.
Napoleon shrugs his shoulders and looks at the backs of the rest of the group, they are running around and smelling the many different foods and looking at all the different clothing, jewelry and other goods. They look like they are enjoying themselves so much but it's a shame that they are so broke they could barely afford a loaf of bread.

  +
The driver sighs in relief when she sees the base camp just a few minutes away.
Napoleon realizes how fortunate they are that they had come to this very town during such a vibrant event; the odds of them getting some kind of part time job is very good. He gathers everyone together and makes an announcement. "Hey everybody, I think this is a good time for us to split up and find some work just like we had discussed earlier."

  +
"We have arrived at our destination." she says with a smile.
They all agree at first until they realize that they would be spitting up into pairs. Naturally, Tsubiri, Daey, and Trojia all jump at the bit to be paired with Ubica.

  +
Once through the gate the sight of thousands of soldiers are enclosed in a make shift wooden fort is seen and they enter into what seems like a large village. As soon as the carriage stops Rain immediately grabs her luggage and exits the door.
After a few minutes the three decide on who goes with who by playing rock paper scissors, and, Trojia won in a clean sweep. So the groupings go as such, Tsubiri and Daey, Ubica and Trojia, and Stauphius is paired with Niomyo and Napoleon.

  +
"Don't get in my way." she coldly says as she walks to a group of higher ups stationed in on of the tents.
Struaphius is disappointed at this outcome as well, it seems that he has taken a liking to Tsubiri and he also thinks that Napoleon and Niomyo are quite dull. Even so, the decision has been made and they all go their separate ways while planning on meeting up at a motel that resides in the town square at midnight.

  +
Dice sighs and glances at the driver who is glaring at him like, 'Did she just say that?'.
The sun is almost set and the festival lights begin to shine; the illumination of the city really sets the tone for this carnival like atmosphere. Napoleon and the two find a large restaurant and head in, by now they are beginning to feel hunger because they have not eaten since the early morning, and the delicious smell of the food is causing Strauphius to drool.

  +
He smiles at her and bows, "Thank you for the ride."
They enter and find that the restaurant is stacked with people and all of the waiters are running around in a hectic manner trying to please the rowdy costumers.

  +
The girl driver jolts up and blushes, "Y-You're welcome! It was my pleasure your highness!!"
Napoleon walks up to the host and politely asks, "Excuse me, the three of us are looking for a part time job during this festival, and we were wondering if you needed the help, you'd be gracious enough to allow us to-"

  +
He waves goodbye and watches her head off into the sunset, he then looks around and is amazed at how many people are in this division; this is without a doubt one of the largest groups in the army.
The overweight man interrupts him with a loud and panicked shout, "You're hired!" He then points at Strauphius, "You dishes!" then to Niomyo, "You waitress!" and to Napoleon, "Can you cook!?"

  +
Hundreds of people who just happened to be walking by stop and stare at him, they double take because they are not a hundred percent sure that the real Prince is actually here; none the less they are still soldiers who don't have time to be starstruck, they all salute and get back to their usual duties.
"Uh.. Yeah a little."

  +
Dice walks into the tent that Rain had just entered, and as soon as he does he instantly feels like an outsider. The vibe in this four sided tent is that of utmost intensity.
"Good! One of our chefs just quit so you go to the kitchen and take his place!"

  +
Rain and five other men are all standing over a table with a large map on it and all he can do is stand in the corner and listen.
The three are so surprised at the suddenness of this hiring they are speechless.

  +
Rain slides her finger up the map and says, "I want 3/4 of this division to head northwest toward Tronoble, and the rest remain behind as back up."
The man looks at them with a face telling them to hurry. "Now go! We're shorthanded here so get to work!"

  +
One of the men surrounding the table shakes his head. "If we head there, our battalion will head straight for a blood bath, and if we're not careful the La'Juutian's will attack us from the west. The entirety of this division will be annihilated."
They jolt up, shout "Yes sir!" and quickly scurry away to their new jobs.

  +
Rain glares at him and turns back to the table, there are red and green stones that lie on the paper which indicates their position on the map, and it also includes the blue and yellow of Troy and La'Juune.

  +
She slides a few red stones up to the position of the blue stones that sit on the position that signifies the city of Tronoble and replies, "That's not the case, by sending 3/4 of our troops to fight the Trojans in the city, and having our last quarter lag behind us by two miles, it allows the La'Juutians to commence their attack on our left flank." She maneuvers the colored stones around gracefully, keeping their attention on her. "And while they do this, it will allow our lagging fraction to sweep behind them and attack, this will surround them and allow us to capsize their force from the outside in."

  +
"Do you think we can pull something like that off? I mean, fighting both of them at once sounds very risky, the Trojans have the advantage of being at home. They can just retreat while us and the La'Juutians kill each other off." says one of the men.
-----------------------------------

  +
"That won't happen." Rain swiftly retorts, "The Trojans will never abandon a city that holds so much importance, they need to be stationed there to avoid opening up a pathway to their capital." She points her finger on the surroundings of the city and continues. "These mountains are damn near impossible for an opposing army to pass in the southwest of Troy. Tronoble is crucial to all three of our countries and I know for sure that whoever wins this city will be in control of the first turning point in the war."

  +
The men all look at each other and contemplate her plans. It's not like they have any choice but to do this even if they disagree, but it is more encouraging to have all of the leaders in agreement.

  +
They all have a light feeling in their stomachs when they look at the bigger picture of all this.
"Damn it all! Why is it always that girl who gets to be with him!?" shouts Tsubiri.

  +
This battle will go down in the history books as one of the most significant battles of all time. The light feeling isn't only from the excitement of such a thing, it also comes from the massive risk in contrast to the massive reward; they understand that if this battle is lost, it would leave the northwestern part of Eiyalazo completely vulnerable and could possibly lose the war for them.
Her and Daey are walking down the lighted street with dark auras that are completely opposite to the festivities.

  +
"Judging by your silence I sense that you approve... Good, we leave tonight." said Rain as she folds up the map.
"I curse the fact that I am bad at that stupid game... She always beat me when we were kids as well." Daey mutters angrily under her breath.

  +
Dice is broken out of the trance he was just in while he was watching the genius of Rain firsthand and says, "Tonight? Don't you need to rest!?"
Tsubiri roughly rubs her hair and yells. "Ahhh geez! Let's get a stupid job so I can get my mind off of it."

  +
Rain tut tuts and replies, "Rest is worthless Prince Dice. By us moving out tonight, we can catch the 105th Specialist Division off guard before the sun rises and we can get to Tronoble by the end of the week."
"Well, where should we look first?"

  +
It would seem that she has had this planned since the very beginning, everyone is wrapped around her finger and they are forced to move at her pace, that includes the Prince.
"Hmmmm, oh! That place looks perfect!"

  +
Dice folds his arms and looks at her with concern, he is about to say something but he is stopped by Rain.
Tsubiri points to a building where there are dozens of rowdy drunk men standing outside the door, it's obviously a bar.

  +
"I see that you're wearing gloves today." she says as she walks out of the tent, not even giving him a chance to respond.
Daey sees this and instantly says, "Ehhhhh!? How does that place have anything to do with us getting a job!?"

  +
(Is she suspicious about my hand?) he thinks to himself, he is paying no mind to the five army men who are staring at him in shock.
Tsubiri grabs her arm and leads her toward the large wooden building. "Just watch, I'll make us plenty of money before the night is done!"

  +
They were so infatuated with the presentation of the battle plan that they hadn't even noticed that the Prince of their country was standing a few feet away in the same tent. He turns to them and sees that they are all saluting, he does so in return and leaves as well.
Tsubiri walks up to a group of ten men that are sitting around a small table; she follows her sudden appearance by slamming her foot on the table to get their attention.

"HEY!!"

The men all stop what they were doing and look at her funny.

  +
---------------------------------
She smiles and grabs a drink out of one of their hands and says, "What do ya guys say? How about we make a little bet here."

It seems that all of the men know exactly what she means and they reveal cocky smiles.

Daey is standing there completely aloof as to what is going on when one of the men asks, "So what's the wager?"

  +
By now the sun has set and it is night, a man with two different colored eyes standing in front of the tent is making an announcement to the entire battalion that they will be leaving in less than an hour and what they are to expect upon doing so.
Tsubiri laughs aloud and answers, "If I win, you all have to give me half of whatever money you have in your wallets."

  +
Rain is loitering alongside a small creek and throwing rocks into it, she is anxious to leave and is just killing time, if it were up to her the preparations and the orders for battle would be done along the way.
A man pours some of his beer into a cup from his pitcher and asks, "And if we win?"

  +
"Hey.." Dice says as he sneaks in from behind her.
Tsubiri huffs a taunting air out of her nose and grabs a confused Daey. "If any one of you guys can beat me... Your prize will be both this girl and I for one night."

  +
Just the sound of his voice makes Rain cringe in annoyance, to her it seems that his pester factor has increased tenfold since her father died.
The men look at the two beautiful girls with eyes full of lust and all simultaneously shout

  +
"I would appreciate it if you'd stop following me."
"DEAL!"

  +
"You know that I can't do that."
Daey's face drops, though she doesn't know what the game is, she knows the odds are greatly stacked against Tsubiri by numbers alone. And the mere fact that she is one part of the opposing team's prize makes her quickly realize that this could end up being an absolute disaster and she would be paying for Tsubiri's brazen bet with her own body.

  +
"I recommend that you do so... Or I will begin to truly show you someone unlovable."
"WHAT!?!?"

  +
Her words sting, he doesn't know exactly what she means by this but he only imagines the worst. He gulps his throat and proceeds to sit on a rock.

  +
"Why do you hate me?"

  +
He looks saddened and distraught when he asked that so it makes Rain feel obliged to answer. "I don't hate you, I don't even dislike you. Their really isn't a single thing that could make me feel that way towards you."
----------------------------------

  +
Dice's face lights up, he reveals a wide eyed smile as if asking, 'Really!?'

  +
Rain wants to stop this before he gets his hopes up and finishes, "But, there isn't a single thing about you that would make me feel anything more than nothing toward you."

  +
She walks away and heads to the stage where the announcement is being made, leaving a hurt Dice in her wake.
Trojia and Ubica are circling the town square gazing at the sights, all of the lights shine in many different colors and the atmosphere is happy and fun. Ubica has never experienced such a thing so he is thoroughly enjoying every minute of this with a big smile on his face.

  +
Dice puts his hands on his face and sighs, "I don't get it... This isn't supposed to happen this way."
Trojia is quite nervous, she can't find the right words to say and is twiddling her fingers awkwardly. "H-Hey Ubica..."

  +
He leans back on the rock and pulls off the gloves that cover his hands.
He looks down at her with eyes full of contempt, "Yeah?"

  +
He frowns and talks to the tattoo of the pentagram, "Why is this happening huh!? You're supposed to help me!!"
Trojia zones out on his face for a few moments and scrambles her sight off into the direction of the sky. "Eh uh, um... It's nice weather today..."

  +
As soon as he says this the surroundings all turn red and he feels an excruciating pain in his hand. In a normal reaction to pain, people wince and move around to defer it somehow, but in this situation his body is frozen stiff and this causes it to be even worse.
As soon as she said that she thinks to herself, 'Uuahh!!! That's not what I wanted to say! Damn it Trojia, you're so dumb!'

  +
The black pentagram begins to shine and out of the light comes the familiar black snake, it slides up his arm and looks at him with its blood red eyes.
Her thoughts are stopped by Ubica's gentle shove on her shoulder. "Haha relax Trojia, it's me you're talking to."

  +
"I am helping you Prince Dice, can't you see it? You are occupying an incredible amount of space in her mind."
"Ahh sorry! I don't know what's gotten into me."

  +
"Yeah in the wrong way!"
Ubica giggles and changes the subject, "So, what should we do for a job? Any ideas?"

  +
"The process of a one sided love has to begin somewhere, even if it is not what you'd like it to be. The fact that she thinks of you means you can be loved."
Trojia looks around the town center and doesn't see anything that catches her eye until she looks at the large wooden statue of the Harvest god. This large statue is covered with different colored candles and is surrounded by torches, the light emanating off of the statue makes it appear that a real goddess is actually gracing the festivities with her presence.

  +
Dice grits his teeth at how his hand is feeling and has a cracked voice when he says, "That doesn't make any sense."
At the front of the statue, a platform with a large sign is based at its feet, she tugs on Ubica's sleeve and points at the writing on the sign. He looks and sees that the platform is for some kind of dance competition, Trojia grabs his hand and shyly looks up at him, "Can we do that?"

"Uh, but we need to find a job."
+
"Oh but it does my fair Prince, just wait and see."

  +
Dice clicks his tongue and shouts, "I'm tired of waiting! I want her now!"
She squeezes his hand and begins to speak in somewhat of a begging tone, "Back at the lake, I saw you dancing with Tsubiri... I want to dance with you too..."

  +
The snake slithers further up his arm and moves eerily close to his face. "That impatience of yours, let this emotion you feel eat away at your soul, let the thirst for that girl ferment in your heart. If you keep growing that feeling, I will make your desires a reality."
Ubica shows a strained smile, he squeezes her hand to lead her and they both walk to the platform. A man dressed in funny clothes is working the booth in front of the platform, like a newspaper boy he is shouting, "Come one! Come all! Grab your woman and bring her to the dance floor!"

  +
The snake sucks back into his hand and it causes Dice to feel an awful pain.
A large amount of people begin to gather and merrily grab random women as the man continues, "Our judges will find the couple that best pleases the God of Harvest with their dance and will pay you generously! To the victor goes the spoils! Come one! Come all! Only two minutes left until the music starts!"

  +
He pants as the feeling dissipates slowly and says to himself, "You told me that the first time I met you... What I truly want to know is how you are going make this happen..? I still don't get it."
By now, people are rushing onto the platform and it is filling up rapidly, Ubica grabs Trojia's hand and says, "Did you hear that!? They'll pay us if we win, this could be our job!"

They run onto the dance floor and position themselves for another waltz. Trojia is blushing at his sudden surge of enthusiasm. He puts his arm around her back and pulls her close, with a tender smile he says, "Let's win this thing Trojia."

"Right."

  +
-------------------------------------
The music from a band on the left side begins playing; they start dancing and romantically look into each others eyes.

"Remember that our judges will be looking for style, chemistry and beauty! These are the conditions needed to please the God of Harvest!" The man shouts his final words and proceeds to join the three judges in watching the group of people dance.

Some are dancing ridiculously in their drunken stupor, some are taking it extremely seriously and some are just kissing wildly. But out of all these people a certain two stand out in the crowd like there is a golden light surrounding them. Dancing very close and very well these two are by far the most beautiful people on the dance floor and the judges can't look at anyone else but them.

  +
A man is sitting on a throne like chair with a chess board on an intricately designed table that lies in front of him.
Trojia is staring at Ubica with a more than happy face, she is pleased that all of the dance lessons she received in the past in training for royal balls have come to be of good use; she is also surprised that he is such a talented dancer and is wondering where and when he learned as well.

  +
He moves the rook of a black chess piece toward white and says, "Slowly but surely, my little pawns will soon allow me to rise once again."
She wants to talk to him and ask him many different questions, these thoughts are racing through her head and she begins to become distracted. In somewhat of an entranced state she accidentally blurts out a thought that has been stuck in her subconscious, "What am I to you?"

  +
He sits in an almost completely dark room, it's so dark that his face can't be seen. The candlelight can reach only to his hands, legs, and the chessboard.
Her face instantly drops at her own words.

  +
"It seems childish of you meddle in the affairs of humans."
'What are you doing Trojia!?' her mind yells.

  +
Comes the voice of Damien who is standing below the rise of the chair, he is wearing the same facial expression as always and his red eyes seem to be glowing even brighter than usual.
Though they are still dancing as if no words have been said, she feels as though the suddenness of her question has ruined the once romantic mood.

  +
The man in the chair gestures to his chessboard that only has two black rooks positioned upwards in contrast to one white rook away from the rest of its group. "This is where you lack the ability to see how important humans are, without them you and I could hold no power, but with them we can have it all."
Ubica is caught off guard at first, and it takes him a few moments to gather his thoughts and figure out an answer.

  +
"Oh? You expect to gain so much by simply tempting them to carry out your will?" Damien replies smugly.
"What are you to me huh?"

  +
The man laughs, "Hahaha, of course my foolish child. That is the role of God is it not?"
He can see that Trojia is flustered and apprehensive while she waits for his reply, so he decides to consider it carefully, though this causes her to suffer in anxiousness a few moments longer.

  +
"Except you are not God."
He thinks back to when they first met on that road in the forest and how beautiful he thought she was when he laid eyes on her. He remembers how kind and caring she was when he was struggling with problems that he never had the courage to even tell her. He can't help but think that as of this moment, she is his someone very special to him.

  +
The laughter stops and through the darkness a serious aura spews from it.
"Trojia you are... You are..."

  +
Damien feeds off that aura and throws words equivalent to kindling into the fire of animosity burning from the other side of the room. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but a God needs to be worshiped right?"
"Ubica."

  +
The man on the chair stays silent for a moment until he replies, "Soon enough, everyone in existence will worship me."
Suddenly, girl's voice other than Trojia's rings in his head and it shakes him to his very core, this voice is familiar to him.

  +
Damien shrugs his shoulders and turns to walk toward the door.
"Don't you dare forget about me Ubica."

  +
"Good luck in accomplishing that."
Not only is this voice familiar, it is one he knows all to well, he shuts his eyes and thinks that there is no way he is hearing this voice.

  +
"Are you condescending me? I don't see any movement on your chessboard boy."
After a few moments of denial, he opens his eyes only to see that the people who were once dancing next to them are all gone, and the person he is holding is not Trojia.

  +
Damien keeps walking and opens the door.
It is a girl with long, straight but flowing white hair, she has bright gold eyes with pupils similar to Ubica's, a halo sits about a half foot above her head and its color matches her eyes perfectly. She looks to be in her late teens and she is wearing a flowing white and red outfit that has numerous gaps, revealing a somewhat inappropriate amount of her smooth white and blemish free skin.

  +
"My chess pieces have been moving all along, but it would seem that you have been too infatuated with meddling in the affairs of useless humans to notice it."
The music is still playing and they are dancing because Ubica cannot seem to control his body for some reason, the surroundings around the platform that they are standing on is all black and the only sight that can be seen is the large candle lit statue of the God of Harvest.

  +
He exits and the room is once again embraced in a cold black. Through the darkness two red lights shine where the chair is. It is the man's eyes that are glowing like burning hot pieces of coal.
The girl is wearing a faint smile when she says, "I don't like how close you are getting to that girl."

  +
He clicks his tongue and says, "I hate to admit it, but your'e right... You are the one person I can never understand."
"Where is Trojia!?" Ubica shouts.

The girl still has the same expression when she replies, "Is that any way to greet your lover?"

He frowns and says, "You're not my lover... Messor."

  +
Damien is walking in the hallway when he faintly reveals a smile full of confidence and says to himself, "Go ahead and writhe in the thirst to be worshiped... I have bigger beings to fry, and that includes you.... Father."
"Haha, what a reaction. Don't worry she's fine, I'm just taking her place for now."

Ubica stays silent as they dance, Messor puts her hand on his face and strokes his lips with her fingers. "How I've missed the feeling of your lips after all these years."

Ubica shifts his eyes away and changes the subject, "When did you escape ?"

  +
-------------------------------------
Messor simply answers "About a year ago.."

"How?"

"The way you thought I would... But don't worry, I ditched that bastard the moment he set me free."

  +
Rain is riding on a horse alongside a few men and is leading a whole battalion of soldiers through the trees; this area of northwestern Eiyalazo does not have as many large sequoia and banyan as the area where Ditreig was assassinated. Here, mainly consists of pine and other small trees that spot the grassy and hilly terrain.
Ubica looks like he feels guilty about something, it's is the same expression he makes when he thinks about his past.

  +
The battalion is spread out in fifty groups of ten people wide and ten people deep along a forty yard gap. The reason for this is that in case of an attack, they would easily be able to retract and form a massive defensive position, and spread out even more to surround the enemy in an offensive position depending on the size of the opposing force.
The smile on Messor's face disappears when she asks, "Is that a face full of guilt I see?"

  +
In almost all of Rain's battle plans, she focuses on surrounding the enemy; one can say that this is her specialty because in even the most unlikely situations she'd find a way to defeat the enemy from all sides and in.
"....."

  +
"We should be rendezvousing with your father's division very shortly, they have retreated back due to constant attacks by the Trojans so they are stationed just a few hundred yards ahead of us." said the man with two different colored eyes who is riding next to her.
"You should feel that way... But I have forgiven you for leaving me back then, all I want from you now is for you to have me, just like in the past."

  +
Rain keeps her stare forward and responds, "Good, I have a few questions to ask some of the soldiers. Also, who is the man now in charge?"
He lowers his eyes and replies, "There is no going back to the past Messor."

  +
The younger looking blond man ponders for a moment until he put a face together with a name. "It is your father's old assistant, his name is Jalet Aldred."
She smiles the same blank smile and says, "Even after I fought for you? Even though I followed you into an endless pit of fire? Hahaha, don't you get it? I will always be your past, present and future.. You and I are one... So we 'can' go back to the past, it has never left us."

  +
"Alright, once we arrive there we will stop for no more than an hour, and afterwards I'll have them tail behind us. We can use there help."
Ubica refuses to accept her words and tries desperately to move but he is in a paralyzed state. "No! It is gone, I need to destroy it! I need to destroy all of that evil past!"

  +
"Yes mam."
"Are you talking about me as well?"

  +
The two divisions combine and the scene is quite hectic because the sheer number of men all in one group; some are leisurely joining each other in conversation and some are strictly business types and are ignoring the presence of the other soldiers.
He flinches and stops his shouting, she does a twirl and says, "Do you think I am still evil? Who says that only you can change Ubica? I had a chance to regain everything I had before, and I threw it all away, just so I can find you... I am no longer... The False Prophet."

  +
A man comes up to greet Rain and the rest of the higher ups, he looks a little nervous and is juggling his note book in his hands.
Ubica is starting to feel his senses come back to his body, he squeezes her hand with all his might and asks, "How did you find me? Did you lead Damien here?"

  +
He tilts his glasses up, salutes and stutters when he says, "I-I'm the Captain of this division, my name is Jalet Aldred. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
"I would never do anything to harm you... Didn't I say that we are one? I was always able to sense you. So when I searched for you on Earth, the you I could sense ceased to exist so I never could find you, it only took me until a few days ago when you finally released your old self that I was able to obtain our long awaited reunion."

  +
Rain twitches her eyebrow and becomes intrigued by this gingerly man, she jumps off her horse and looks him in the eye.
Ubica starts to slump over, she was right about the guilt that he is feeling, but at the same time he has not fully given into her words.

  +
"So you are the new Captain huh? I'd like to ask you a few questions."
As the False Prophet, she was responsible for convincing two thirds of the entire world's population to trust, believe in, and worship Ubica the Anti-Christ. So he knows very well the power of her words.

  +
"Yes mam."
With a broken voice he asks, "What do you expect me to do for you now? You should know that nothing's going to change."

  +
"You were Captain Ditreig's assistant correct?"
She snaps her fingers and the music stops, she puts both of her hands on each of his cheeks and moves her face closer to his. "All I want you to do is remember that at one point, you could have had any woman in the entire world... But you only lusted for me. I want those days back, I want to be yours forever."

  +
"Yes mam."
Messor puckers her lips and begins to kiss him.

  +
"So out of all your soldiers, you carry the most intelligence about the circumstances of his death, correct?"
Ubica now has complete control of his body, and instead of pushing her off of him he strokes the silky soft skin of her lower back with hands full of sensuality. Messor gently pushes him off her causing them to finish, she smiles and says, "I'm pleased to see that you enjoyed my lips as much as I enjoyed yours."

  +
"Yes mam."
She pulls his collar so he once again moves closer to her. "I can still sense your skepticism towards me though... To prove how very serious I am about this, I'm going to give up everything once more, so wait for me Ubica."

  +
"Then tell me all you know."
She puts her hand over his eyes and gives him another kiss.

  +
"Yes mam."
Ubica opens his eyes to see that he is kissing Trojia, the music is playing and by now the majority of the dance goers have their eyes stuck on such a beautiful sight. He quickly backs away and looks at her with a face full of confusion.

  +
Dice joins the group and listens in on the talk when he sees the gingerly man scramble as he flips through pages of his notebook and begins to read.
Trojia is blushing wildly, she smiles and embraces him tightly. "S-So that's what I am to you... I'm so happy."

  +
"At 0900 hours, two of our surveillance men we're killed in action by Trojan spies. Their uniforms we're stolen and the two spies infiltrated our division and assassinated Captain Ditreig."
Ubica is about to try to explain what had just happened but he himself doesn't exactly know what's going on.

  +
Rain rests her hand on her hip and leans on her left leg, with a suspicious tone she bluntly asks, "Is that all?"
Before he can find the words to speak he is interrupted by the host of the dance competition saying, "Ladies and gentlemen! I think we have our winners!"

  +
"Yes mam."
The host is pointing at Ubica and Trojia and all of the participants begin to clap. Like a kid, Trojia has a wide smile when she says, "Yay we did it! Did you hear Ubica? We won!"

  +
She stares at him with a straight face, causing him to become even more nervous and he begins to really sweat profusely. Seeing this verifies the suspicious feeling that is poking at her subconscious, but instead of abruptly stating what she is thinking, she decides to gather a little more evidence.
Ubica is still confused and is so distracted he has yet to blink, without a shred of positive emotion he replies, "Y-Yeah..."

  +
"What were the names of the two soldiers that were killed?"
In her excitement, Trojia fails to notice that he is obviously distraught as she grabs the sack of this town's currency being handed to her by the host.

  +
Jalet flips back in his notebook and puts his finger on their names. "Eh-uh... It was Corbin Mizlesh and Applic Stellson."
After being congratulated by the judges and others who were standing by, Ubica and Trojia are now walking to a fireworks show that the host had told them about. The host stated that it is said that any couple who sits on a certain hill in the middle of the town during this event are destined to be together, so with this and the fact that they had won the dancing contest she can hardly contain her excitement.

  +
"What did they look like?"
Ubica hasn't said much since they left the competition and is being helplessly dragged by the hand of Trojia. They begin walking up a stone path that leads up a flower filled hill; once they reach the top they join a group of a dozen couples all sitting or laying on the grass and flowers awaiting the fireworks show.

  +
Jalet flips a few pages back and says, "One had brown hair and green eyes, and the other had somewhat of a feminine build with short black hair and crimson eyes."
The two sit down and Trojia glares at a spaced out Ubica. "Hey... Are you okay? You look distracted."

  +
Rain doesn't say anything when she turns away and reaches her hand in a pouch that rests on the side of her horse's saddle and pulls out a large book. She looks through it and asks, "Oh? Tell me something Jalet, do you note everything down in the book of yours?"
He doesn't respond quickly and it causes her to be a little impatient.

  +
"Y-Yes mam."
"Ubica!"

  +
"Why is that?"
His shoulders jolt, "W-Wha? Oh sorry about that... I'm just a little tired."

  +
"B-Because I feel that it is important to write everything down in order to obtain consistency in daily routines."
She blushes and pats her hand on her lap and asks, "You can rest on my lap if you'd like."

  +
"Hmmm, then you and I are very similar... I also do something like that, except what I do allows me to break the methodical mold that goes along with every day moments and helps me plan ahead so I can bend those moments to move at my own pace."
"N-No it's alright, but thank you though."

  +
Jalet is confused as to where she is going with this, so he thinks it'd be wise to simply go along with it.
She pouts and grabs his ear, she pulls him closer to her while she also moves closer to him, causing them to both be leaning on each other with an equal amount of weight distribution.

  +
"R-Really?" he asks with a wary smile.
"You don't need to be so tentative all the time Ubica, you are always welcome to lean on me."

  +
Rain stops on a page and pulls a piece of paper out.
He smiles and begins to relax, this is the same warm feeling he was reminiscing on while the two were dancing, he feels a rare sense of security until the first firework is shot into the air, the flash and the bang instantly make him think about the face of Messor.

  +
"Oh, this is what I was trying to find... Now, just one more." She continues to turn the pages until she once again stops and pulls yet another piece of paper out. "Here we are."
He flinches and Trojia assumes he was frightened by the blast, she begins to laugh along with all of the noise. "Hahaha, how cute of you to be startled by such a silly thing."

  +
She puts the book back into her saddle pouch and turns to Jalet, causing his shoulders to stiffen up. She faintly smiles and hands him the two pieces of paper.
He nervously laughs and replies, "Hehe, y-yeah."

  +
"As a pupil of the same hobby, I'd like to know what you think of these two pictures."
The two's eyes meet for a split second and in that short time frame a multicolored firework explodes and the shining lights flicker on their face. Trojia's heart beats fast as she scrolls her view from his eyes down to his lips. She leans in for a kiss, with her slight movement the sound of another exploding firework bangs in the air.

  +
"Y-Yes mam."
Ubica is frozen, he feels that he should move but he finds it very hard to say no to anyone, and then the image of Messor once again pops in his head and all he can think about is how her lips felt and how it made his body numb with a certain feeling he has refused to remember after many years.

  +
He grabs the papers and sees that they are actually two photos of men, and as soon as he sees this he turns even more pale and his eyes grow so large it's as if his pupils are hitting the lens of his glasses.
He grabs her shoulders and pushes her away. "I'm sorry!"

  +
On the photo to the left is a man with long black hair and black eyes, and on the photo to the right is a large muscular man with golden hair and blue eyes.
Trojia is beyond surprised, she has a face full of shock and confusion when she asks, "W-What's wrong?"

  +
But this isn't what has got him so shocked; underneath the photos are the names of the men, 'Corbin Mizlesh' and 'Applic Stellson'.
He hangs his head low and replies, "I-I shouldn't be doing this."

  +
This has completely contradicted the story that Jalet had just told. Corbin, a man whom he described as someone with brown hair and green eyes has differing features than that of the photo; and Applic, the man whom in the photo looks to be the exact opposite of the described feminine man with crimson eyes and black hair.
Trojia is beginning to feel more and more like she has just been rejected.

  +
"Of course, I had all the photos of the men in this division sent to me so I know what I have to deal with. You see, this is called controlling your future Captain Jalet. By simply combining all of the odds of certain events that could happen and preparing for each one separately, you can literally control your own destiny." She walks with in a few feet of him and continues, "Those who live for the daily occurrences that help the present moment go by smoother will only be run down by the past. And if I'm not mistaken, that is exactly what has just happened to you. Because you failed in preparing for what I might do once I got here, you were caught in your little cover up."
"B-But when I asked you what I was to you... You kissed me then, why are you saying no now?"

  +
"W-Wait, t-this isn't what it----"
"I'm sorry."

  +
Before he can finish his awful attempt at making an excuse, Rain interrupts him.
This apology, she doesn't like the tone of this at all and it is increasingly making her feel sick to her stomach.

  +
"Now now, no need to look so discouraged about it, you have successfully given me a fairly accurate description of the assassins, and that's the most important thing I need to know."
"What are you apologizing for?"

  +
She pats him on the shoulder and walks past him.
"It's wrong for me to do such a thing if there are these kind of feelings behind it."

  +
Jalet exhales in relief and releases the tension in his shoulders, but he quickly stiffens back up when he hears her voice again.
These words of his crush her heart, her voice begins to crack when she speaks, "So you are saying that you have no feelings for me?"

  +
"Oh, just one more question."
"I'm not saying that at all I-"

  +
Jalet quizzically turns and replies, "Y-Yes mam?"
She grabs his wrists and interrupts him, "So which one is it? Tsubiri or Daey?"

  +
"Since you saw the perpetrators, I must ask why you were not present when Captain Ditreig was killed?"
She starts smiling as tears form in her bright green eyes, Ubica can see how hurt she is and thinks to himself how much he hates to see her like this.

  +
He takes a sharp and very deep breath before attempting to respond.
He has no clue what to say as she continues.

  +
"Eh! Ah ah... You see he was..."
"They are cute, and they are older... You always look so happy around Tsubiri and you always look at Daey with such caring eyes..."

  +
Rain still has such a calm demeanor about her and she once again interrupts, "Could it be that the two spies were personally directed to Captain Ditreig through you?"
She blinks and the tears that were forming in her eyes fall down her cheeks, she looks so pitiful while she unsuccessfully tries to wipe her flowing tears with the palm side of her sleeves.

  +
She is spot on in her assessment, she came to this conclusion when she thought about what the many different circumstances that could be possible in which the spies were able to gain access to her father. To her it seems most logical that the spies would have had to ask Jalet to speak with the Captain privately in order to give him info on the surveillance as to not gather any excess attention.
Ubica is progressively feeling a horrid pain in the pit of his chest, Trojia is showing a weak side of her that he has never seen before, her insecurities can be seen even more apparent then the fireworks that are exploding above.

  +
She has an innate ability to analyze things in her head so quickly that it would make the average human's head spin; no one knows where she got this from, her mother was average and even though her father was once a war hero, he didn't hold half the intellect she does.
She is desperately trying to cope with what she thinks is Ubica rejecting her, this has affected her so deeply that even when she was sent away by her mother for an unwanted marriage she didn't shed a tear. Now it's like her whole world has crashed on her head and she doesn't know what to do.

  +
Judging by his appearance, she assumes she is correct and says, "Yes... That has to be it. How else would the Captain's assistant be nowhere near his superior when he was being killed? And why else would you go to such great lengths to cover it up..? You have a slue of charges against you Capt- no... Jalet."
"I can see why you'd love them over someone like me."

  +
Jalet's knees are shaking and it is quite obvious that he is a total wreck; he is in such shock that he was easily found out just because of a slight slip up that no one should have noticed.
Ubica can't stand the feeling that is brewing in his chest, he knows that if he would just lie to her she would likely feel better, but he knows that lying to her would be just as painful as seeing her in this state. So he decides to tell her exactly why he feels the way he does, he tosses her hands away from her face and grabs onto her shoulders, he looks at her in the eyes and says, "It's impossible for me to love anyone."

  +
He can't come up with the words to retort so all he can do is bow and shout, "I'm sorry!!!"
She stops her crying and can only say, "What?"

  +
Rain begins to walk back to him, "Other than the assassins, you are the closest man responsible for the death of Captain Ditreig."
Ubica grits his teeth as he tries to explain. "Love is something that I was created to be the opposite of. You three are the most important people to me, but I know it's not love because it is something I am completely incapable of. "

  +
She lifts his head from his bowing position and looks him straight in the face, she frowns and turns away quickly.
He leans back and finds it extremely hard to allow the words to escape the back of his throat.

  +
After a few steps she turns to the onlooking men on horses and coldly says, "Execute him."
"I am... I am..."

  +
Jalet drops to his knees, this is the worst possible outcome he ever could have imagined; he wants to beg for his life but his throat is so hoarse that only the sound of light grunts can be heard.
Trojia gives him a blank stare and helps him finish. "The Anti-Christ."

  +
Dice's face drops, for one he can't believe what he had just witnessed, and for two he can't believe that she could so easily send a man to death for something that wasn't entirely his fault.
Ubica's body feels like it has just been shocked by a bolt of lighting.

  +
He jumps in between them and shouts, "Absolutely not! I won't allow it!"
She stands up and looks down on him, "I know who you are Ubica."

  +
Rain doesn't turn around and lets him continue his rant.
"H-How?"

  +
"That punishment is far too harsh for something like this, how can you be so heartless!?"
"I followed you the night you fought with that strange man, I saw everything."

  +
Rain waits a moment before answering, "The punishment is too harsh? Because of his negligence, his superior was cut down from under his nose."
He puts his hand over his face and says, "Then you understand what kind of monster I am... I don't deserve anything good that ever happens to me, I certainly don't deserve your affection in anyway."

Trojia walks to him and asks, "Why? Because of something you did in the past?"
+
She turns to him and reveals a face so full of anger that it makes his stomach hurt.

  +
"Quit this stupid honor act of yours and use your god damn head! This man is lucky I don't have his eyes, ears, and arms dismantled and force him to run blind into the forest! Because of this man's incompetence we lost valuable ground in our offensive against the Trojans. And because of this man, I LOST A FATHER!"
Ubica looks up at her and replies, "It's not just something. Do you have any idea what I've done? Everything about me is unforgivable."

  +
This sudden surge of emotion has caught everyone around off guard.
Trojia actually does know exactly what he has done; after the Apocalypse a third testament of the Bible was created, in it states everything that the Anti-Christ did in gruesome detail. The imagery in this third testament far surpasses what was said in the book of Revelations, and it is more like a history book that goes through the dates of certain happenings that occurred all the way until the aftermath of the battle of Armageddon. Because she was raised as a Catholic and being surrounded by Philosophers and teachers of Theology, she likely knows the majority of Ubica's old ways, she was taught to fear those times after all.

  +
Dice has never seen her act in any way that would indicate such a reaction.
Instead of fearing him, she takes another step closer lifts his head so he is looking at her, with a frown she raises her right hand and slaps him on the face with all her might.

  +
But that's still not going to deter him from what he knows is right, he takes a deep breath and prepares to reiterate what he had said before when he feels the back of his right hand pulsate.
His head turns from the force and he feels a pain that is far worse than any stab wound he has ever felt.

  +
Along with this heartbeat like feeling in his hand comes a voice, "This is the beginning my fair Prince. Let her order stand."
She once again turns his head back so he looks at her. "Stop that!" she shouts.

  +
Dice clinches his teeth and shuts his eyes as he screams to the voice from with in his head, "No! I can't accept the order for such an awful thing!"
He is confused when he softly asks, "Stop what?"

  +
The voice gets louder, "If you do this she will realize that you will do anything for her and she will start to accept you. This is what you have to do, the path to her heart is opening through this hate that she holds. This is the fist step needed to have her heart and mind cling to your image."
"Stop dwelling on your past! I could always see that it has been eating at you, I can see how guilty you feel about it, so I wanted to ask... What good has that done you?"

  +
"But I can't do this!"
Ubica is speechless, all he can do is stare deeply into her dark green eyes.

  +
"Oh but you can, just allow me to help you."
"You want to rid yourself of it right!? Then start by accepting that there are people who love you! Accept that they feel that way for a reason and that you do deserve it!"

  +
"That's what I don't get! How are you going to help me? Especially in this situation!!?"
She is exclaiming loudly, thanks to the noise of the fireworks the rest of the people on the hill cannot hear her yells so there is no scene being made.

  +
The voice is now so loud that it is giving Dice a banging migraine.
"If you continue to walk around with all of that weight on your shoulders, eventually you will break! So give me some of that weight to carry!"

  +
"I shall show you my fair Prince."
Ubica wants to retort but nothing will come out of his mouth, all he can do is sit there and listen to what she has to say.

  +
Within an instant, the headache disappears and his body feels incredibly light, so light that he does not notice that his hands are moving by themselves.
"Don't you want to be free from it all? If you want to become someone that can feel everything that a human can then let me in, I'll help you... But first you must be willing help yourself and forget about your regrets. The past is over... Only the future awaits you."

  +
(Huh? What's happening?) he thinks to himself.
She once again stands up, holds out her hand and shows a large smile, over her shoulder a firework explodes in dozens of different colors and the sight of this entrances Ubica.

  +
And this thought enters his mind more and more when he begins to hear himself talk without his consent.
"It's either live for the future or die in the past...Take my hand, and it will gone for good."

  +
"You are right Rain." he says.
A new wind envelopes his psyche, he is now willing to let someone help him instead of bearing all of his burdens alone. He takes her hand and stands, they share a surreal moment as they look into each other's eyes, a new found determination shines in them as the grand finale of the fireworks show rises to its climax.

  +
Rain looks at him with a confused expression until her eyebrows steadily steepen and form back into to a frown. "I don't want to hear how you're going to tell me I'm right and then add a 'but' at the end."
"Thank you Trojia..."

  +
Dice smiles, "That's not what I'm going to do this time... In fact, that's not what I'm going to do ever again."

  +
"What are you talking about?" she asks.

  +
"By seeing your face just now, I realized that what you want from me is not kindness, but support."
----------------------------------

  +
Rain stays silent as she watches him say and do things that are baffling her; she watches as he pulls out the saber from his sheath and points it at Jalet.

  +
Jalet's jaw drops, his fear is paramount when he looks into Dice's eyes and sees no hint of any emotion, only the cold glare of someone who is about to take a life.

  +
"N-No don't! Didn't you just say that you'd help me!?!?!" Jalet shouts in a panic.
Tsubiri and Daey are walking rather gingerly down the street toward the motel, it's close to midnight so they ready to rendezvous with the others.

  +
Dice shows no thread of hesitation when he says, "That was before I understood Rain's feelings... That was before I understood what it takes to understand what she is feeling. In order to that I must feel the same pain that she does. And that is the pain of losing her father because of some notebook dawdling prick who wasn't paying attention! You do deserve this punishment!"
"Buahahahahaha! I told ya Daey, they didn't have a chance!" says Tsubiri as she slurs her words.

  +
Rain is taken aback, this transformation of character is an exact 180. She can't believe that he'd even say something like that and is beginning to wonder if he has always had this quality to him.
Daey hiccups and replies, "Yuuueeeaaah, noooooo chance!"

  +
With widened eyes she asks Dice, "You aren't actually going to do this are you!?"
It is quite obvious that they are in a drunken state as they weave and bump into each other, their loud laughing and manner of speech allows them to blend in with the rest of the crowd. They are drunk for a reason, the challenge against the group of men purposed by Tsubiri was a drinking game.

  +
Dice looks at her and gently smiles, "I must do this, to show you that what I said was true."
This game is called 'fire and ice', it involves a deck of cards and the rules are simple. In a standard deck there are four different suits of two different colors; black and red. Each contestant is given three face down cards, and before they can flip one over, they have guess what color it is beforehand by saying 'fire' being red, or 'ice' meaning black. If the card is opposite of what they chose that means they have to chug a large wooden cup of beer or wine, so the one who chooses the most correct out of three wins the bet. Tsubiri played ten of these best out of three games and by pure luck she won them all, but she still guessed wrong more than enough times to be completely belligerent.

  +
He lifts his saber and slices down on Jalet's neck, completely lopping off his head in a clean strike.
The money she had earned can be considered a small fortune since all of the men forfeited half of their wallets to her, chances are they made enough cash to cover at least another week of travel. As a celebration, Daey joined her for one cup of wine, it was her first time drinking and it truly showed because she was faded before she even knew it.

  +
As soon as his lifeless body hits the ground a couple soldiers run and grab his corpse to take it into the woods for burial.
The two wobble to the front of the designated motel; in front of the entrance is Napoleon, Niomyo and Strauphius. They have exhausted faces and their bodies are slumped over in a pathetic way.

  +
Rain can't believe what she had just seen, an odd feeling begins to brew in her chest and she doesn't know if it is good or bad, but she knows it is tightly squeezing at her.
"Soooooo how much money didjjyaaall make?" asks Tsubiri.

  +
With a cracked voice she says, "You... You did it."
"Are you two drunk?" replies Napoleon dejectedly. He automatically assumes they never found a job if they are in this bad of shape.

  +
She shakes her head and quickly comes to her senses, she looks at the multi-colored eyed blond man on the horse and orders, "I want you to find someone worthy of becoming the Captain of this squad... And make sure he is good too, he will be taking over my father's former position."
Tsubiri pulls out a purse full of gold coins and smiles. "Tellll me how great I am."

  +
"Yes mam."
"Wow that's a lot!!!" shouts Strauphius. He is the first to jump in and praise her.

  +
"Wait!" shouts Dice before the man can take off.He puts his hand on his chest and kneels toward Rain. "Please... Allow me to take that seat."
"So whaddya got?"

  +
"What?" she asks with one eyebrow raised.
Napoleon takes his money pouch out and shows them less than a quarter of what they have. Tsubiri and Daey look at each other and break out in laughter, "Hahaha what the hell is up with that chump change!? What kind of job did you guys do?"

  +
"I don't think anyone other than me is better suited to take control of your father's division."
They don't answer her question because the fact of the matter is that they spent all night working the most back breaking job they have ever done for such small wages.

  +
"But you aren't allowed to fight."
Niomyo changes the subject and asks, "Well what did you guys do?"

  +
"I don't have to... I can lead them in a similar fashion as you."
"Let's jusstss say that some mennn weren't able to hold their liquor as well as meee."

  +
Rain thinks about it for a moment and is about to refuse until he looks her in the eye and quietly speaks so the others can't hear. "Please... I want to help you restore your name, by me doing this, it will show the people that I respect your father so much that I personally chose to command his own troops."
What goes through their minds when she says this is the thought of them robbing some drunkards. But that thought is brushed off when they catch sight of Ubica and Trojia walking back. They all say their hellos and the two drunk girls glare at them coldly because they feel that the couple looks awfully cozy.

  +
"Fine..." she replies. She gestures to the other onlooking men and says, "We leave in an hour, so get everyone prepared."
"How did you guys fare tonight?" asks Napoleon.

  +
All of the men simultaneously shout "Yes mam!" and head off into the mass amount of army men.
Trojia has a smile on her face when she pulls out a sack filled with almost as many gold coins as Tsubiri's and says, "There was a dance competition in the town center, we won and we got this as the prize."

  +
Rain has her straight face back on and she looks at Dice for a moment, the two aren't alone but no one around can hear their words.
Strauphius's shoulders drop and he asks, "Is that all of the work you guys did?"

She smiles and replies, "Yup!"
+
She folds her arms and stiffly asks, "Why did you do that?"

  +
Dice stands from his kneeling position and walks to her side, he leans his head close to her ear so she can feel his warm breath when he says, "Because I love you."
Him, Napoleon, and Niomyo sigh loudly and their body language is that of complete dread. They worked a ruthless job and they don't even have half the amount of money the other two groups have, to add insult to injury, the others earned that much by simply drinking and dancing.

  +
He walks away into the crowd and leaves Rain standing there in the same spot.

  +
When he said this, Rain has that tight feeling resurface once again in her chest, she puts her hand over her heart and asks herself, "Is this good or bad?"

-----------------------------------

  +
---------------------------------

All of them are sleeping in two rented rooms, the men in one room, and the women in the other. Tsubiri is still extremely drunk and restless laying on a bed next to a passed out Daey. All she can think about is Ubica and she is getting more and more angered at the fact that they did not spend any time with each other at the festival.

So she decides to leave her room for a walk, while in the hallway she passes Ubica's room and figures she might as well see if he is still awake. It is a couple hours past midnight so she is hoping for the best, she knocks on the door to see if he'll answer but nobody does.

  +
"Oorrraaahhhckckkkkk!!!"
She tries to open the door and finds that it is locked, with a drunken smile she takes a hairpin off her head and easily picks the lock. She learned this through her days as a maintenance worker when she would need to clean the inside of a room that had its door locked; because she did not have the keys to every room, she would sit at the door for hours on end until she figured out how to pick it.

  +
Dice is leaning over the bank of a river that runs through the trees and gags, he is desperately trying to throw up to relief some of the nauseating feeling in his stomach from the image of the beheading.
"Sorry to intrude." she says quietly with a slight slur.

  +
"I didn't want to do that! I didn't want to do that! I didn't want to do that! Why!? I told you no didn't I!? Why did you make me do it!?" he shouts in a panicked voice.
Once entered, she sees that all three men are asleep.

  +
The voice of the snake rings in his head, "Did you not see the look in that girl's eyes? You have made a large impact on her from just that one action."
She finds it hard not to laugh at Napoleon's sleeping position when she sees that he is laying on his bed flat on his back and has his hands crossed over his chest making him look just like a vampire who would fit perfectly in a coffin with that form.

  +
"It wasn't me who made in impact! You were the one who did all of that!"
Strauphius on the other hand is sprawled out on his bed with his limbs flopping in different directions awkwardly and is snoring loudly. He flings his arms upwards as he yells in his sleep and shouts,

  +
"That is true, but it was what needed to be done."
"No more dishes!!!"

  +
Dice starts throwing water on his face and shouts through the droplets, "I don't care! I don't want this deal anymore, I want to make her love me by my own!"
She thinks this look of his is quite annoying until lastly, she finds Ubica sleeping beautifully on the ground in the corner of the room.

  +
"....."
"Jackpot." she snickers to herself as her eyes turn glassy from the alcohol.

Tsubiri walks to him and turns him on from his side onto his back, she removes his blanket and while doing so she accidentally hiccups loud, she looks to see if she had woken anyone up and to her relief they remain dead asleep.

The reason behind this is that Napoleon and Strauphius worked long, grueling hours at that beyond busy restaurant so they are already past their breaking point, the other is that Ubica rarely sleeps for some reason so when he does he's usually out like a rock.

She throws the blanket back over him but this time with her in it, resting on top of him she finds that he is not wearing any pants, and is only in his boxers.

"Ohhhhooo izz this an opportunity ta take a little peeeek??"

Because she is not thinking straight, she doesn't realize how creepy this kind of act is considered to be, all that is going through her hazy mind is that of wanting to be with him in any kind of way. Before she pulls down his underwear she decides to sneak a kiss or two in first so she shifts her eyes to his face, there she sees a sight that makes her sober up a bit.

Under Ubica's head is the giant obnoxious blue jacket that she had bought for him a few days back, he is using it as a pillow. Though one would not take much merit to this because they would think that he is just using it because there was nothing else, the opposite is in effect because just a few feet to the side are two pillows that are not being used at all. The only explanation for this is that even though he doesn't like the thing, it was still a gift from someone important to him so he will put it to use whenever he can, specifically with that person in mind.

Tsubiri starts smiling and halts her sneaky stealth attack on his lips.

"You are so kind Ubica..."

Instead of proceeding with her plan she rests her head on his stomach and asks, "I hope you don't mind if I stay like this for a little do you?"

Of course, Ubica doesn't answer so she adds, "Good, cause either way I'm not leaving just yet... Muah...ha...ha...ha."

By the end of this sentence she is fast asleep with a drunken smile on her face. This mission on her part was a complete failure, but she fell asleep thinking it is better off that way anyhow.

----------------------------

"UAHHAAAHHH WHAT IS THIS!?!?!?" shouts Ubica when he wakes up to see Tsubiri sleeping with her head a few inches below his belly button. She is drooling on him and he can feel it sliding down his belly all the way to the inside of his boxers.

She slowly opens her eyes, and looks at him with a tired face full of confusion. "What are you doing on my bed Ubica?"

"YOU'RE LAYING ON TOP OF ME IN 'MY' ROOM!"

Tsubiri puts her hand on her head and rubs her temples. "Could you not yell so early in the morning? I have a terrible headache."

Even though this is such an odd situation Ubica can't help but think that she looks really cute when she looks like that, but that doesn't change the fact that she is on top of him for a reason unbeknownst to him.

"Just let me go back to sleep for a little." she says as she drifts back into slumber.

Ubica grabs her shoulders and begins to shake her. "NO! You can't go back to sleep like this! Imagine what someone will think if they see us!?"

As soon as he says this, he feels the sharp glare of two pairs of eyes coming from the left of him. He turns to see Napoleon looking at him dejectedly and Strauphius is looking so stunned that it seems as if his mouth will fall to the floor.

"W-Wait guys! This is a misunderstanding!" Ubica pleas, but his words fall on deaf ears as they continue to give him a death stare.

  +
"Do you hear me!"
At this moment, with brilliantly bad timing, the rest of the girls come through the door of the room. "What's wrong!? I heard some screaming!" yells Trojia.

  +
"I do fair Prince, very well then... I shall leave you, but you will soon beckon me once again for knowledge when she comes to you and expects someone more to her liking."
Once she sees the scene that has just unfolded she gasps with a face full of horror.

  +
The voice disappears and leaves Dice's mind to wander in its own dismay. He is breathing hard and drinks a big gulp of river water, he then shakily stands up and leans on a tree.
Daey, who walked in with a hangover of her own instantly gets all her strength back as her eyes begin to flame with anger.

  +
(Is he gone for good?) he thinks to himself.
"UBICA YOU PERVERT!!" they both yell simultaneously.

  +
He readies to lift the soaked white glove on his right hand to see if the pentagram is still apparent when he hears some footsteps crunching on some leaves from behind him.
Ubica has gotten blindsided by this, one moment he was asleep and the next moment, everybody thinks of him as some kind of freak.

  +
He slowly turns to look assuming it is just a regular soldier, but is in for a big surprise when he sees that it is none other than Rain.
"This isn't what it looks like!!!"

  +
"R-Rain? What are you doing here?"
He frantically tries to wake Tsubiri up so she can explain to them for him, she postures up but she is obviously still asleep. He tries to get away in this brief moment of freedom. He backs away but she drops back on him, and as a result her head doesn't land on his belly, rather it lands right on his groin.

  +
Rain takes a couple more steps toward him and replies, "I just want to talk with you."
He looks at everybody in the room and they all have their mouths wide open upon seeing this. He can feel her face rub perfectly against it and he continues to turn blue, in one final attempt at calming them down he shouts

"THIS IS A MISUNDERSTANDING!!!"

(PART 2)

Rain leisurely tosses a bag of luggage in the back of a horse drawn carriage, it makes a loud noise that startles the woman holding the reigns.

"Let's go." she says as she gets in.

The carriage woman snaps the reigns and the horses begin to move.

"What are you doing?" she asks.

Dice smiles and replies, "You didn't think I'd actually let you go to war by yourself did you?"

Rain sighs and replies, "Part of me didn't think you would, but all of me was hoping for it. Let me guess, this was your bargaining chip for your parents to consider me in doing this right?"

"That's right!"

Dice used this tactic to convince his parents for Rain's military exemption, and to add on to that he used this for his own personal need in wanting to ensure Rain's safety.

"Tch." Rain clicks her tongue in annoyance.

By him doing this it almost completely hinders her plan in personally taking revenge on whoever assassinated her father.

She leans back and looks out of the window, completely ignoring his presence, her doing this makes the half day long ride very awkward for the pitiful prince.

The sun is close to setting and there has yet to be a word spoken between the two, the silence was so bad it even made the driver cringe.

The driver sighs in relief when she sees the base camp just a few minutes away.

"We have arrived at our destination." she says with a smile.

Once through the gate the sight of thousands of soldiers are enclosed in a make shift wooden fort is seen and they enter into what seems like a large village. As soon as the carriage stops Rain immediately grabs her luggage and exits the door.

"Don't get in my way." she coldly says as she walks to a group of higher ups stationed in on of the tents.

Dice sighs and glances at the driver who is glaring at him like, 'Did she just say that?'.

He smiles at her and bows, "Thank you for the ride."

The girl driver jolts up and blushes, "Y-You're welcome! It was my pleasure your highness!!"

He waves goodbye and watches her head off into the sunset, he then looks around and is amazed at how many people are in this division; this is without a doubt one of the largest groups in the army.

Hundreds of people who just happened to be walking by stop and stare at him, they double take because they are not a hundred percent sure that the real Prince is actually here; none the less they are still soldiers who don't have time to be starstruck, they all salute and get back to their usual duties.

Dice walks into the tent that Rain had just entered, and as soon as he does he instantly feels like an outsider. The vibe in this four sided tent is that of utmost intensity.

Rain and five other men are all standing over a table with a large map on it and all he can do is stand in the corner and listen.

Rain slides her finger up the map and says, "I want 3/4 of this division to head northwest toward Tronoble, and the rest remain behind as back up."

One of the men surrounding the table shakes his head. "If we head there, our battalion will head straight for a blood bath, and if we're not careful the La'Juutian's will attack us from the west. The entirety of this division will be annihilated."

Rain glares at him and turns back to the table, there are red and green stones that lie on the paper which indicates their position on the map, and it also includes the blue and yellow of Troy and La'Juune.

"Do you think we can pull something like that off? I mean, fighting both of them at once sounds very risky, the Trojans have the advantage of being at home. They can just retreat while us and the La'Juutians kill each other off." says one of the men.

The men all look at each other and contemplate her plans. It's not like they have any choice but to do this even if they disagree, but it is more encouraging to have all of the leaders in agreement.

They all have a light feeling in their stomachs when they look at the bigger picture of all this.

"Judging by your silence I sense that you approve... Good, we leave tonight." said Rain as she folds up the map.

Dice is broken out of the trance he was just in while he was watching the genius of Rain firsthand and says, "Tonight? Don't you need to rest!?"

Rain tut tuts and replies, "Rest is worthless Prince Dice. By us moving out tonight, we can catch the 105th Specialist Division off guard before the sun rises and we can get to Tronoble by the end of the week."

It would seem that she has had this planned since the very beginning, everyone is wrapped around her finger and they are forced to move at her pace, that includes the Prince.

Dice folds his arms and looks at her with concern, he is about to say something but he is stopped by Rain.

"I see that you're wearing gloves today." she says as she walks out of the tent, not even giving him a chance to respond.

(Is she suspicious about my hand?) he thinks to himself, he is paying no mind to the five army men who are staring at him in shock.

They were so infatuated with the presentation of the battle plan that they hadn't even noticed that the Prince of their country was standing a few feet away in the same tent. He turns to them and sees that they are all saluting, he does so in return and leaves as well.

By now the sun has set and it is night, a man with two different colored eyes standing in front of the tent is making an announcement to the entire battalion that they will be leaving in less than an hour and what they are to expect upon doing so.

Rain is loitering alongside a small creek and throwing rocks into it, she is anxious to leave and is just killing time, if it were up to her the preparations and the orders for battle would be done along the way.

"Hey.." Dice says as he sneaks in from behind her.

Just the sound of his voice makes Rain cringe in annoyance, to her it seems that his pester factor has increased tenfold since her father died.

"I would appreciate it if you'd stop following me."

"You know that I can't do that."

"I recommend that you do so... Or I will begin to truly show you someone unlovable."

Her words sting, he doesn't know exactly what she means by this but he only imagines the worst. He gulps his throat and proceeds to sit on a rock.

"Why do you hate me?"

He looks saddened and distraught when he asked that so it makes Rain feel obliged to answer. "I don't hate you, I don't even dislike you. Their really isn't a single thing that could make me feel that way towards you."

Dice's face lights up, he reveals a wide eyed smile as if asking, 'Really!?'

Rain wants to stop this before he gets his hopes up and finishes, "But, there isn't a single thing about you that would make me feel anything more than nothing toward you."

She walks away and heads to the stage where the announcement is being made, leaving a hurt Dice in her wake.

Dice puts his hands on his face and sighs, "I don't get it... This isn't supposed to happen this way."

He leans back on the rock and pulls off the gloves that cover his hands.

He frowns and talks to the tattoo of the pentagram, "Why is this happening huh!? You're supposed to help me!!"

As soon as he says this the surroundings all turn red and he feels an excruciating pain in his hand. In a normal reaction to pain, people wince and move around to defer it somehow, but in this situation his body is frozen stiff and this causes it to be even worse.

The black pentagram begins to shine and out of the light comes the familiar black snake, it slides up his arm and looks at him with its blood red eyes.

"I am helping you Prince Dice, can't you see it? You are occupying an incredible amount of space in her mind."

"Yeah in the wrong way!"

"The process of a one sided love has to begin somewhere, even if it is not what you'd like it to be. The fact that she thinks of you means you can be loved."

Dice grits his teeth at how his hand is feeling and has a cracked voice when he says, "That doesn't make any sense."

"Oh but it does my fair Prince, just wait and see."

Dice clicks his tongue and shouts, "I'm tired of waiting! I want her now!"

The snake slithers further up his arm and moves eerily close to his face. "That impatience of yours, let this emotion you feel eat away at your soul, let the thirst for that girl ferment in your heart. If you keep growing that feeling, I will make your desires a reality."

The snake sucks back into his hand and it causes Dice to feel an awful pain.

He pants as the feeling dissipates slowly and says to himself, "You told me that the first time I met you... What I truly want to know is how you are going make this happen..? I still don't get it."

A man is sitting on a throne like chair with a chess board on an intricately designed table that lies in front of him.

He moves the rook of a black chess piece toward white and says, "Slowly but surely, my little pawns will soon allow me to rise once again."

He sits in an almost completely dark room, it's so dark that his face can't be seen. The candlelight can reach only to his hands, legs, and the chessboard.

"It seems childish of you meddle in the affairs of humans."

Comes the voice of Damien who is standing below the rise of the chair, he is wearing the same facial expression as always and his red eyes seem to be glowing even brighter than usual.

The man in the chair gestures to his chessboard that only has two black rooks positioned upwards in contrast to one white rook away from the rest of its group. "This is where you lack the ability to see how important humans are, without them you and I could hold no power, but with them we can have it all."

"Oh? You expect to gain so much by simply tempting them to carry out your will?" Damien replies smugly.

The man laughs, "Hahaha, of course my foolish child. That is the role of God is it not?"

"Except you are not God."

The laughter stops and through the darkness a serious aura spews from it.

Damien feeds off that aura and throws words equivalent to kindling into the fire of animosity burning from the other side of the room. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but a God needs to be worshiped right?"

The man on the chair stays silent for a moment until he replies, "Soon enough, everyone in existence will worship me."

Damien shrugs his shoulders and turns to walk toward the door.

"Good luck in accomplishing that."

"Are you condescending me? I don't see any movement on your chessboard boy."

Damien keeps walking and opens the door.

"My chess pieces have been moving all along, but it would seem that you have been too infatuated with meddling in the affairs of useless humans to notice it."

He exits and the room is once again embraced in a cold black. Through the darkness two red lights shine where the chair is. It is the man's eyes that are glowing like burning hot pieces of coal.

He clicks his tongue and says, "I hate to admit it, but your'e right... You are the one person I can never understand."

Damien is walking in the hallway when he faintly reveals a smile full of confidence and says to himself, "Go ahead and writhe in the thirst to be worshiped... I have bigger beings to fry, and that includes you.... Father."

The battalion is spread out in fifty groups of ten people wide and ten people deep along a forty yard gap. The reason for this is that in case of an attack, they would easily be able to retract and form a massive defensive position, and spread out even more to surround the enemy in an offensive position depending on the size of the opposing force.

In almost all of Rain's battle plans, she focuses on surrounding the enemy; one can say that this is her specialty because in even the most unlikely situations she'd find a way to defeat the enemy from all sides and in.

"We should be rendezvousing with your father's division very shortly, they have retreated back due to constant attacks by the Trojans so they are stationed just a few hundred yards ahead of us." said the man with two different colored eyes who is riding next to her.

Rain keeps her stare forward and responds, "Good, I have a few questions to ask some of the soldiers. Also, who is the man now in charge?"

The younger looking blond man ponders for a moment until he put a face together with a name. "It is your father's old assistant, his name is Jalet Aldred."

"Alright, once we arrive there we will stop for no more than an hour, and afterwards I'll have them tail behind us. We can use there help."

"Yes mam."

The two divisions combine and the scene is quite hectic because the sheer number of men all in one group; some are leisurely joining each other in conversation and some are strictly business types and are ignoring the presence of the other soldiers.

A man comes up to greet Rain and the rest of the higher ups, he looks a little nervous and is juggling his note book in his hands.

He tilts his glasses up, salutes and stutters when he says, "I-I'm the Captain of this division, my name is Jalet Aldred. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

Rain twitches her eyebrow and becomes intrigued by this gingerly man, she jumps off her horse and looks him in the eye.

"So you are the new Captain huh? I'd like to ask you a few questions."

"Yes mam."

"You were Captain Ditreig's assistant correct?"

"Yes mam."

"So out of all your soldiers, you carry the most intelligence about the circumstances of his death, correct?"

"Yes mam."

"Then tell me all you know."

"Yes mam."

Dice joins the group and listens in on the talk when he sees the gingerly man scramble as he flips through pages of his notebook and begins to read.

"At 0900 hours, two of our surveillance men we're killed in action by Trojan spies. Their uniforms we're stolen and the two spies infiltrated our division and assassinated Captain Ditreig."

Rain rests her hand on her hip and leans on her left leg, with a suspicious tone she bluntly asks, "Is that all?"

"Yes mam."

She stares at him with a straight face, causing him to become even more nervous and he begins to really sweat profusely. Seeing this verifies the suspicious feeling that is poking at her subconscious, but instead of abruptly stating what she is thinking, she decides to gather a little more evidence.

"What were the names of the two soldiers that were killed?"

Jalet flips back in his notebook and puts his finger on their names. "Eh-uh... It was Corbin Mizlesh and Applic Stellson."

"What did they look like?"

Jalet flips a few pages back and says, "One had brown hair and green eyes, and the other had somewhat of a feminine build with short black hair and crimson eyes."

Rain doesn't say anything when she turns away and reaches her hand in a pouch that rests on the side of her horse's saddle and pulls out a large book. She looks through it and asks, "Oh? Tell me something Jalet, do you note everything down in the book of yours?"

"Y-Yes mam."

"Why is that?"

"B-Because I feel that it is important to write everything down in order to obtain consistency in daily routines."

"Hmmm, then you and I are very similar... I also do something like that, except what I do allows me to break the methodical mold that goes along with every day moments and helps me plan ahead so I can bend those moments to move at my own pace."

Jalet is confused as to where she is going with this, so he thinks it'd be wise to simply go along with it.

"R-Really?" he asks with a wary smile.

Rain stops on a page and pulls a piece of paper out.

"Oh, this is what I was trying to find... Now, just one more." She continues to turn the pages until she once again stops and pulls yet another piece of paper out. "Here we are."

She puts the book back into her saddle pouch and turns to Jalet, causing his shoulders to stiffen up. She faintly smiles and hands him the two pieces of paper.

"As a pupil of the same hobby, I'd like to know what you think of these two pictures."

"Y-Yes mam."

He grabs the papers and sees that they are actually two photos of men, and as soon as he sees this he turns even more pale and his eyes grow so large it's as if his pupils are hitting the lens of his glasses.

On the photo to the left is a man with long black hair and black eyes, and on the photo to the right is a large muscular man with golden hair and blue eyes.

But this isn't what has got him so shocked; underneath the photos are the names of the men, 'Corbin Mizlesh' and 'Applic Stellson'.

This has completely contradicted the story that Jalet had just told. Corbin, a man whom he described as someone with brown hair and green eyes has differing features than that of the photo; and Applic, the man whom in the photo looks to be the exact opposite of the described feminine man with crimson eyes and black hair.

"W-Wait, t-this isn't what it----"

Before he can finish his awful attempt at making an excuse, Rain interrupts him.

"Now now, no need to look so discouraged about it, you have successfully given me a fairly accurate description of the assassins, and that's the most important thing I need to know."

She pats him on the shoulder and walks past him.

Jalet exhales in relief and releases the tension in his shoulders, but he quickly stiffens back up when he hears her voice again.

"Oh, just one more question."

Jalet quizzically turns and replies, "Y-Yes mam?"

"Since you saw the perpetrators, I must ask why you were not present when Captain Ditreig was killed?"

He takes a sharp and very deep breath before attempting to respond.

"Eh! Ah ah... You see he was..."

Rain still has such a calm demeanor about her and she once again interrupts, "Could it be that the two spies were personally directed to Captain Ditreig through you?"

She has an innate ability to analyze things in her head so quickly that it would make the average human's head spin; no one knows where she got this from, her mother was average and even though her father was once a war hero, he didn't hold half the intellect she does.

Judging by his appearance, she assumes she is correct and says, "Yes... That has to be it. How else would the Captain's assistant be nowhere near his superior when he was being killed? And why else would you go to such great lengths to cover it up..? You have a slue of charges against you Capt- no... Jalet."

Jalet's knees are shaking and it is quite obvious that he is a total wreck; he is in such shock that he was easily found out just because of a slight slip up that no one should have noticed.

He can't come up with the words to retort so all he can do is bow and shout, "I'm sorry!!!"

Rain begins to walk back to him, "Other than the assassins, you are the closest man responsible for the death of Captain Ditreig."

She lifts his head from his bowing position and looks him straight in the face, she frowns and turns away quickly.

After a few steps she turns to the onlooking men on horses and coldly says, "Execute him."

Jalet drops to his knees, this is the worst possible outcome he ever could have imagined; he wants to beg for his life but his throat is so hoarse that only the sound of light grunts can be heard.

Dice's face drops, for one he can't believe what he had just witnessed, and for two he can't believe that she could so easily send a man to death for something that wasn't entirely his fault.

He jumps in between them and shouts, "Absolutely not! I won't allow it!"

Rain doesn't turn around and lets him continue his rant.

"That punishment is far too harsh for something like this, how can you be so heartless!?"

Rain waits a moment before answering, "The punishment is too harsh? Because of his negligence, his superior was cut down from under his nose."

She turns to him and reveals a face so full of anger that it makes his stomach hurt.

This sudden surge of emotion has caught everyone around off guard.

Dice has never seen her act in any way that would indicate such a reaction.

But that's still not going to deter him from what he knows is right, he takes a deep breath and prepares to reiterate what he had said before when he feels the back of his right hand pulsate.

Along with this heartbeat like feeling in his hand comes a voice, "This is the beginning my fair Prince. Let her order stand."

Dice clinches his teeth and shuts his eyes as he screams to the voice from with in his head, "No! I can't accept the order for such an awful thing!"

The voice gets louder, "If you do this she will realize that you will do anything for her and she will start to accept you. This is what you have to do, the path to her heart is opening through this hate that she holds. This is the fist step needed to have her heart and mind cling to your image."

"But I can't do this!"

"Oh but you can, just allow me to help you."

"That's what I don't get! How are you going to help me? Especially in this situation!!?"

The voice is now so loud that it is giving Dice a banging migraine.

"I shall show you my fair Prince."

Within an instant, the headache disappears and his body feels incredibly light, so light that he does not notice that his hands are moving by themselves.

(Huh? What's happening?) he thinks to himself.

And this thought enters his mind more and more when he begins to hear himself talk without his consent.

"You are right Rain." he says.

Rain looks at him with a confused expression until her eyebrows steadily steepen and form back into to a frown. "I don't want to hear how you're going to tell me I'm right and then add a 'but' at the end."

Dice smiles, "That's not what I'm going to do this time... In fact, that's not what I'm going to do ever again."

"What are you talking about?" she asks.

"By seeing your face just now, I realized that what you want from me is not kindness, but support."

Rain stays silent as she watches him say and do things that are baffling her; she watches as he pulls out the saber from his sheath and points it at Jalet.

Jalet's jaw drops, his fear is paramount when he looks into Dice's eyes and sees no hint of any emotion, only the cold glare of someone who is about to take a life.

"N-No don't! Didn't you just say that you'd help me!?!?!" Jalet shouts in a panic.

Rain is taken aback, this transformation of character is an exact 180. She can't believe that he'd even say something like that and is beginning to wonder if he has always had this quality to him.

With widened eyes she asks Dice, "You aren't actually going to do this are you!?"

Dice looks at her and gently smiles, "I must do this, to show you that what I said was true."

He lifts his saber and slices down on Jalet's neck, completely lopping off his head in a clean strike.

As soon as his lifeless body hits the ground a couple soldiers run and grab his corpse to take it into the woods for burial.

Rain can't believe what she had just seen, an odd feeling begins to brew in her chest and she doesn't know if it is good or bad, but she knows it is tightly squeezing at her.

With a cracked voice she says, "You... You did it."

She shakes her head and quickly comes to her senses, she looks at the multi-colored eyed blond man on the horse and orders, "I want you to find someone worthy of becoming the Captain of this squad... And make sure he is good too, he will be taking over my father's former position."

"Yes mam."

"Wait!" shouts Dice before the man can take off.He puts his hand on his chest and kneels toward Rain. "Please... Allow me to take that seat."

"What?" she asks with one eyebrow raised.

"I don't think anyone other than me is better suited to take control of your father's division."

"But you aren't allowed to fight."

"I don't have to... I can lead them in a similar fashion as you."

Rain thinks about it for a moment and is about to refuse until he looks her in the eye and quietly speaks so the others can't hear. "Please... I want to help you restore your name, by me doing this, it will show the people that I respect your father so much that I personally chose to command his own troops."

"Fine..." she replies. She gestures to the other onlooking men and says, "We leave in an hour, so get everyone prepared."

All of the men simultaneously shout "Yes mam!" and head off into the mass amount of army men.

Rain has her straight face back on and she looks at Dice for a moment, the two aren't alone but no one around can hear their words.

She folds her arms and stiffly asks, "Why did you do that?"

Dice stands from his kneeling position and walks to her side, he leans his head close to her ear so she can feel his warm breath when he says, "Because I love you."

He walks away into the crowd and leaves Rain standing there in the same spot.

When he said this, Rain has that tight feeling resurface once again in her chest, she puts her hand over her heart and asks herself, "Is this good or bad?"

"Oorrraaahhhckckkkkk!!!"

Dice is leaning over the bank of a river that runs through the trees and gags, he is desperately trying to throw up to relief some of the nauseating feeling in his stomach from the image of the beheading.

"I didn't want to do that! I didn't want to do that! I didn't want to do that! Why!? I told you no didn't I!? Why did you make me do it!?" he shouts in a panicked voice.

The voice of the snake rings in his head, "Did you not see the look in that girl's eyes? You have made a large impact on her from just that one action."

"It wasn't me who made in impact! You were the one who did all of that!"

"That is true, but it was what needed to be done."

Dice starts throwing water on his face and shouts through the droplets, "I don't care! I don't want this deal anymore, I want to make her love me by my own!"

"....."

"Do you hear me!"

"I do fair Prince, very well then... I shall leave you, but you will soon beckon me once again for knowledge when she comes to you and expects someone more to her liking."

The voice disappears and leaves Dice's mind to wander in its own dismay. He is breathing hard and drinks a big gulp of river water, he then shakily stands up and leans on a tree.

(Is he gone for good?) he thinks to himself.

He readies to lift the soaked white glove on his right hand to see if the pentagram is still apparent when he hears some footsteps crunching on some leaves from behind him.

He slowly turns to look assuming it is just a regular soldier, but is in for a big surprise when he sees that it is none other than Rain.

"R-Rain? What are you doing here?"

Rain takes a couple more steps toward him and replies, "I just want to talk with you."
