It feels weird to call them "lunch boxes" even though, yes, I know that's what they are. I think that "obento" is understood by enough people that it should be used instead; after all, instead of brother/sister or replacing it with their names, onii-chan/onee-chan is used throughout. Of course, I get that there's some significance to the family title thing - okay, this is a lot longer than I intended. Would there be any objections to changing all references from "lunch box" to obento? Lunch boxes vs. obento[edit]
It feels weird to call them "lunch boxes" even though, yes, I know that's what they are. I think that "obento" is understood by enough people that it should be used instead; after all, instead of brother/sister or replacing it with their names, onii-chan/onee-chan is used throughout.
