“I'm waiting ––– until you take a pathetic decision, and arrive at the 《Final Extreme》, until that moment”

The incarnation of one's own «Soul» ––– «Blaze», for Tooru who had it severed, the words from that youth covered in darkness didn't reach him.

Losing his consciousness, Tooru collapsed.

His figure sprawled on the ground, wasn't reflected on the eyes of the youth who had cut him ––– Narukami Sakaki.
"I will be waiting–––Until that time you become desperate, and arrive at that tragic decision, that time, you arrive at the «End's Domain»"

Of course, there was not even a slight change in his feelings.

But in change, the one whose feelings were shaken, was who stood there only watching their fight,  that silver colored girl.

Julie, who knew the reasons of their fight, had been restraining her impulse to go help Tooru.

This was Tooru's fight, she had no right to interfere.

Their awful difference in power was obvious to Julie, even tough she had not even crossed swords with him.

Even so, the reason she had not stopped them was, because they could not be stopped.

Being an «Avenger» herself, if she would be in the same situation as Tooru ––– if she had her father's enemy in front of her, no matter what difference in strength, she would never choose not to fight.
The manifestation of his own «Soul»–––

No matter how hopeless the situation was, the boy called Kokonoe Tooru would definitely find a way, and emerge victorious, so she thought.
For Tooru whose «Blaze» was severed, those words spoken by that youth covered in darkness were inaudible.

But–––
He was only loosing his consciousness, collapsing on the ground.

Her thoughts didn't reach.
His fallen figure on the ground wasn't even reflected on the eyes of Narukami Sakaki–––the one who had slained Tooru

The result was set.
And naturally, there was not a single change in his emotions.

No miracle happened.
Instead, who clearly showed a burst of emotions was that silvery girl, who only stood as a spectator of their fight.

“To...ru...”
Being aware of the situation surrunding those two, Julie was desperately holding back the desire to go assist Tooru.

While the girl whispered the boys name, the sliced «Blaze» ––– the «Shield» lost it's form, and changing to «Flames»(TN: “Flames” here uses the same kanji as “Blaze”) it vanished.
She knew, this was Tooru's fight, she had no right to intervene in it.

“To––––––ru!!”
But that horrible difference in strength was so dreadful that even she who hadn't changed blows with Sakaki could clearly notice it.

Together with a bitter cry, Julie ran.
Though the reason she didn't stop them even while being aware of that, was because this couldn't possibly be stopped.

Standing between the fallen Tooru and the dark boy, she extended her hands.
Being an «Avenger» herself, if she were to stand in a similar situation–––taking revenge for his father, no matter what kind of a difference in strength there was, the option to abstain from fighting would be unexistent.

“The result is decided. I won't let you do anything more to Tooru”
And at the same time, one couldn't deny that she stilll believed that that youth, Tooru, could win.

With a shaking voice, the Silver girl glared at Sakaki.
The felling that, no matter how hopeless the situation, that boy called Kokonoe Tooru would definitely emerge victorious, that he would take the triumph in his hands.

That boy with the dark empty eyes silently looked at Julie –––
But this time–––

And started walking forward.
Her feelings couldn't reach him.

Seeing that, Julie's body shook.
And the fight was decided.

“I won't allow–––”
No miracle did happen.

You to come any closer –––, Julie could not finish to say it.
"Too......ru......"

Because Sakaki's figure disappeared from her view.
While she whispered the youths name, the slained «Blaze»––– the «Shield», lost his shape, and vanished in «{{Furigana|Blaze|Flames}}»

“You don't have to worry, '''''Julie Sigtuna'''''”
"Too––––––ru!!"

“–––!!”
Together with her sorrowful cry, Julie ran.

Hearing that voice from behind, Julie turned around.
She ran, until she was between the fallen Tooru and that youth of darkness, and stood there with her hands outstretched.

On the other side of the fallen Tooru, the dark youth was standing facing away.
"The result has been decided. I will not let you do anything more to Tooru"

Julie was shocked from that youth's movements she wasn't able to see at all.
While saying that with a frail voice, she glared at Sakaki.

And also, '''''Sakaki knew and said Julie's name''''', but the silver girl did not notice.
He just stood there silently, his dark and hollow eyes fixated on her–––

“My affairs are done. So I do not feel like crossing swords with you”
And took a step forward.

Those words also meant that he was not trying to take Tooru's life.
Noticing that, Julie's entire body shook slightly.

But even so, there was no way Julie's wariness could disappear.
"I won't allow–––"

The dark youth smiled silently, and walked away.
–––you to come any closer.

For Sakaki he was proving his words with acts, but to Julie, him looking defenseless was enough to suddenly calm her wariness.
Julie couldn't finish speaking, since Sakaki's figure had disappeared from in front of her.

“The «Power» of «Bonds», hmm...”
"You don't have to worry, '''''Julie Sigtuna'''''"

Mumbling, Sakaki turned and looked back–––
"!!"

And faced Tooru.
Hearing that voice from behind her, Julie turned around.

“I will show you sometime, in the case that time comes, that is”
Further away from Tooru's body, the youth shrouded in darkness stood facing away from her.

Finished talking, the dark youth turned away from the two once again, and walked away.
Having been unable to at least see the youth's movements, Julie stood shocked.

“Gh...h...”
But even more shocking '''''was the fact that Sakaki had just mentioned Julie's name''''', although the silvery girl didn't notice it.

Hearing Tooru's groaning voice, Julie reacted again.
"I've already done what I came to do. I don't have the need to cross swords with you right now"

“Tooru...!!”
Those words, were also said in the sense that he had no intention of taking Tooru's life.

Kneeling at the side of Tooru, she saw the state of his wounds–––the silver girl gasped strongly.
Still, even though he had said that, there was no way those words could possibly calm down Julie's wariness.

Just like his groaning voice before, Tooru was alive.
A silent smile fleeted on the darkness youth, then turned around and started walking away.

For now.
For him, it might have been a way to put his words in action, but when Julie saw him intentionally turning around defenselessly, it only fueled her wariness even more.

But, the wound is deep.
"Is that the «Force» of «Bonds», I wonder..."

His sliced arm is obvious, and the wounds covering his body were also grave.
Muttering that, he turned around for a moment to look at Julie and–––

Blood flowing from his cuts, and his voice crumbling away.
Then at Tooru.

Even now, his life together with his blood could be seen flowing away.
"I will show what that really is someday, if the situation were to arise, that is"

(First-aid...!!)
Finishing his words, he turned away once again, and walked away.

Getting controlled by her uneasiness, Julie stretched her hand towards the bag with the first-aid kit.
"Gh...uh..."

After applying the first-aid, she had to take Tooru to a medic center as soon as possible.
Hearing Tooru's groaning voice, Julie came back to her senses.

If not–––
"Tooru...!!"

Tooru's life will be lost for eternity.
She hurriedly kneeled at Tooru's side, but the moment she whitnessed the condition of his wounds–––the silvery girl had to gasp.

He was still alive, as alive as the groan he had made a moment ago.

For now, he was.

And also, Julie will see someone die in front of like with her father.
But his wounds were deep.

The situation of his arm that had been cut away was obvious, but the wounds all over his body were in a similar state.

Blood wouldn't stop oozing from his cuts, and his breath was rough and erratic.

On the back of the girl, an unpleasant chill ran down.
At this point, one could see Tooru's life dripping away together with his blood.

It was because she realized something she was better without knowing.
(At least first-aid...!!)

“Ah...”
Being driven by her anxiety, she hurriedly tried to reach for the bag that had the first-aid kit.

The hand that was about to open the bag, Julie noticed it's fingers were trembling.
Her mind was only repeating the same thoughts: First quickly apply the emergency procedures, then take Tooru to a medical facility.

If she did not–––

Tooru's life would be lost forever.

Just like how Julie once saw her own father loose his life in front of her eyes.

An uneasy chill ran down her spine.

Because she had realized something she would have been better off without knowing.

"Ah..."

Julie noticed then, that on the hand she had extended to open the bag, her fingers were shaking violently.

If I don't hurry–––
If I don't hurry–––

Her mind was filled with that thought, but her body wouldn't move like her thoughts.
Her mind was completely filled with that thought, but her body wouldn't listen to those thoughts.

But finally, the bag was open.

Her hands that wouldn't stop shaking, somehow managed to also take out the first-aid kit–––

(How...should I use this.....?)

Even opening the bag was beyond her capabilities.
She couldn't remember anything from all the emergency procedures she had once learned in her classes.

Finally, it obeyed.
Because her trauma was kicking in, she was nothing but a powerless existence right now.

Somehow she retrieved the first-aid kit and–––
"A, ah, ahh..."

(This... how should I...?)
Her head was turning blank, she couldn't even remember what she was supposed to do.

Even though she should have learned on her classed how to apply it, she could not remember a single thing.
I have to save Tooru–––

Because of what her trauma brought back, she now was only a powerless existence.
But how should she save him?

“Ah, ah, ah...
While thinking in circles like that, Tooru's life continued being drained by his cuts.

Her mind was completely blank, and Julie didn't know what she should do.
"Stop, this..."

If I don't save Tooru–––
With a trembling voice, Julie pressed at the diagonal cut running through Tooru's chest with her bare hands.

But how should she save him was unknown to her.
But of course, that would never be able to stop the blood from flowing away.

During that, his life continued spilling from his cuts.
Even so, there was nothing more Julie could do right now.

“No, way...
"Save, him..."

Her voice trembling, Julie tried pressing Tooru's hand to it's diagonally sliced arm.
With a quivering voice, Julie asked for help.

Obviously, the blood continued oozing out non-stop.
"Someone, save him... someone please save Tooru...!"

But, the Julie now could not do anything else.
The dojo where Tooru once had passed time together with those people–––

“He, help...”
At it's ruins, a sorrowful cry resounded.

With a shaken voice, Julie asked for help.

“Someone, help... Someone please help Tooru...!”

The dojo where Tooru once lived–––

At the remains of that place, a heart-wrenching cry resonated.

While the evening sun bathed the world red, seeing Sakaki approach from the side of the remains of the dojo, Ougi thought.
While the evening sun bathed the world in a red light, Ougi saw Sakaki coming from the dojo ruins, and thought.

(Well well. To think he would go to the «Judges» place. I guess he should go hide himself, right...)
(I can't believe this. To think he had come this close to the «Judges» territory. I thought he was supposed to be hiding his location...)

While scratching his head with his thick finger, Ougi sighed completely clueless.
While lightly scratching his head with his fat finger, feeling completely outwitted he sighed.

Two years ago–––
It was two years ago–––

Sakaki had disappeared inside the flames, the report ended there.
After he had disappeared inside those flames, any kind of news from him were practically non-existent.

Ougi had used all sort of connections trying to follow the youths whereabouts, but the reports where less than useful.
He tried following the youth's steps using all sorts of connections and networks, but everything he found couldn't even ammount to useless traces.

But even that was something that needed the «Tempest Judges» involvement to be useful.
But then again, that at least something, considering that the «Tempest Judges» was involved.

After all, gathering intel was the specialty of the guys in the army uniform.
That young man clad in a army uniform was proficient at fabricating information after all.

(… even so, he looks quite similar)
(...But he really, is looking like him)

While looking at Sakaki, Ougi remembered.
While he observed Sakaki, Ougi started remembering.

Once, back when he was still enrolled at the single-handed-sword dojo, how many times he changed blows with him, his opponent with who he enhanced his skills together–––Sakaki's father, and the woman who became his partner.
He remembered that time he used to be enrolled at the Single-Handed-Sword dojo, his rival–––Sakaki's father, who he used to exchange blows with countless times, and the woman who became his partner.

“Finished your business, right. Soleil (Narukami Sakaki)”
"{{Furigana|Narukami Sakaki|Soleil}}, I'm guessing you are done with your business"

The one who spoke to the dark youth, was a young man who served Ougi, the organizer of «Rein».
The one calling over to the youth of darkness, was that man who had deceived Ougi, one of the members of «Rein».

But the truth was that that young man was now bringing Ougi to Narukami Sakaki.
But it was also true that this young man had also brought him to Narukami Sakaki.

Thinking that there should be some kind of reason, Ougi had followed without trying to understand.
Although for Ougi, it was more than obvious there had to be some kind of reason behind this.

“Without problems. And also, I'm really sorry to take up your time, Clovis”
"Without a hitch. But really, I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time, Clovis"

“Non non, doing something for you is my pleasure. And while we were waiting I was able to deepen my knowledge of him, so you really made me pass some valuable time”
"Non non, it was an honor to do that for you. And while we waited I was able to deepen my relation with this person here, it was a really enjoyable time"

Holding the second name of «Tempest Judges», this young man–––Clovis, turned his head sideways a little and, looked at that dark skinned big guy standing at his side.
The young holder of the title «Tempest Judges»–––Clovis, turned slightly around, and looked at the big, slightly dark skinned man standing at his side.

But, Ougi didn't respond anything, only his eyes fixed on something.
However, Ougi stayed silent, without moving at all, only staring at a single point.

The dark youth, his black katana, its blade now tinted red.
At the black sword the youth of darkness held, at it's blade, bathed in red.

...What did he do”
"...What the hell did you do"

To Ougi's question, Sakaki smiled and said.
Sakaki smiled slightly when he answered him.

“I only sliced Tooru”
"I only slashed Tooru"

“–––!!
"–––!!"

The expected answer–––
An answer he expected–––

But even so Ougi had to gasp–––
But was shocking to hear–––

“Shi...!!
"Shi...!!"

Cursing, he ran towards the remains of the dojo.
Whether he cursed or not, he still ran towards the ruins.
