Translations methodology
hey...though I don't translate much, I would like to help you in such case. Most of the translators here have a basic knowledge of the language. But of course there are other ways for it. First: You can use 'Abbyyfine reader' (or any other ocr software) to get the txts from the .jpg . Copy them as per your convinience and start using a translator ( I use google toolkit and babylon...some also use atlas).
But these translations won't be your exact book. You will have to jumble them a bit as per your undersanding of the story. You will get a massive headache at the starting n u will feel like abandoning it. In case u cross this hurdle, put it on BT and leave the rest to the editors.
oh...some also uses 'Rikaichan' which is very much popular for translations.
P.S type this whenever u write somewhere on BT (user talks/discussion) '~' 4 times . This will automatically write ur name. :) --Chancs 13:37, 4 March 2012 (CST)
yes. and the editors will curse you for all eternity, so beware. personally, i'd not translate if i didn't know the language. having read some machine translations, i can't say they were an enjoyable read... you have to ask yourself - "is it really worth it?", before beginning to translate. "a translation is better than no translation" does not always apply. this is just a humble opinion of a fellow translator... --Idiffer 13:54, 4 March 2012 (CST)
