Talk:Sword Art Online:Volume SS Chapter 1

Supposedly this is a "Side Story" of Sword Art Online Arc Aincrad. Like a mystery detective arc set when they were still trapped in that world. Not a main story of SAO so it seems the translation team will continue on with the important volumes first that pertain to the story plot.

To quote for a summary of this from Idoshi: "The main focus of the story has a similar premise to your typical "murder mystery", someone is apparently killed in town in a mysterious way(towns are supposed to be safe zones), Kirito & Asuna witness the death and decide to investigate as a team... This SS takes place right after Kirito and Asuna meet, it literally starts off with Kirito waking up from his nap to find Asuna sleeping next to him. Also features some other chars like Heathcliff and Egil, but they don't do much besides provide some info relevant to the mystery. The DDA(Divine Dragon Alliance) guild is also introduced as "a guild aiming to be the strongest in Aincrad, while KoB aims to be the fastest clearing guild". Again, not very important to the overall plot of SAO because they hardly do anything... in this SS anyway. The SS gives a bit more details on PKing and game mechanics, but mostly because Kirito spends a lot of time just brainstorming on how someone could be killed in a safe zone without the killer being discovered."
