Chapter 1 -
I hear my alarm going off. It's 07:40.
I wake up, still thinking about what I have dreamed tonight.
What a weird dream...
A gigantic castle, in the middle of nowhere, connected to a paved road. It looked so clear, like I was really there, watching the big castle.
I look at my alarm. Its 7:45 now.
I feel weird. I really can't explain this feeling inside me... like I am being watched... haunted perhaps?
I look at my alarm again. It's 7:50.
Doesn't matter. time to get my lunchbox ready and ride my bike to school.
I got up and begin to clothe myself, and brush my teeth.
I went downstairs, picked my lunchbox up (which my mother makes everyday before she goes to work), filled my bottle with water, and mounted my bike.
I kept thinking about this castle on my way towards school. it was so clear, so vivid... like I was really there, with the wind blowing on me...
I feel weird...
The school is pretty big. about 1000 students are on it, and it takes a while to get used to so many students.
I put my bike in the bike racks next to the school and went through the main port. I hear a shout from my friend in the distance.
'Davudo-san!'
It's Olli. I met this person in my second year on high school. He's 15, has short black hair, short, a bit clumsy and is simple clothed.
He was sitting on a bench, probably waiting for me, while the rest went inside.
Hey davudo-san! how are you doing?
I'm fine, Olli. how are you?
I'm good! let's go inside.
I went inside, put my coat in my locker and walked towards my first class.
It's the third week since the beginning of the fourth year of Highschool, and i don't have any friend in this class.
It doesn't really matter anyways. They are all not interesting and not my type.

The bell went off, which means recess started.
I entered the canteen, where I went straight to the usual hangout.

I checked if everyone is here. everyone is here except Omuro and Mataru.
Where is Omuro and Mataru?
Mataru-san is on his way, but I don't know where Omuro-san is. I think he catched the flu
Ah well, I don't feel good too. I think i will call sick for tomorrow.
I pick my lunchbox from my pack and my bottle of water, and started to eat.

It's Mataru's voice. I met him in the first year. He's 16, has an average length, has brown medium long hair, and is sportive.

It's simply amazing. i am practicing everyday on how to use it. but i have no teacher, so i mostly play around with it.
I should go and check it out someday. it sounds like fun.
after the pause, the lessons still went on for a while, and after that i went outside towards my bike.
I went inside my house and put some water in the watercooker and opened my fast ramen soup.
I poured some hot water in it and started stirring it. It warmed up quick and I went upstairs, to my room, to eat it while I turn my computer on.
After playing games all night with my friends, I went to bed. still thinking about that castle.
I hope I won't see it again.

As my senses slowly started to work, I felt a weird dizzyness. like I spinned around until my head hurted.
Beautiful long hallways, with doors to the left and right. It felt like a maze.
Ugh...
As I slowly started to wake up, I noticed a letter infront of me.
It said: Only the one who is destined to change his or her life.
I picked it up. I thought for a moment about what it could be.
ah, well, a letter can't hurt you, right?
I opened it, and a weird, blue light radiated from the letter.
Wha~~
I jumped from the light. after it stopped, i slowly inspected the letter. It looked very old and had a weird, blue circle at the right top of the letter. I slowly started to read it.
Hail, group leader!
group leader? is my family pranking me?
The moment you opened this letter, you created a bond between another dimension.
This is clearly a prank.
You have been chosen by the Union of Protection to serve the monarchy.
I expect my mother to open the door and yell I got you!
Your name is written on this letter. You can recruit three more squad members to join you.
I see my full name written on it.

There are only two rules. the names need to be written by the recruit. and if you fail to write three names before dawn, your group will be filled with other people.

I went back into my bed, and I decided that first I need to think. How am I going to do this and who?
I looked at my alarm. It's 8:46.
It will take a long time till my friends are done with school.

Chapter 2 -
I get on the saddle, put my hands on the handlebar grips, and put my feet on the pedals.
I have my backpack with me. In it, is the letter and a pencil.
My first destination will be one of my old friends. He was on my high school, but he got downgraded to a lower highschool.
I put my bike to the right side of the garden door, and enter it.
I check if my friend is in the garden. he isn't.
I knock in the backdoor of the house.
Hey, Davudo! what a suprise! I didn't expect to see you around this time!
It's Dan.He's 16, has a middle length and a sort of short, brown/blond hair.
Hey, Dan. We need to speak. Let's walk for a bit.
Ok, wait, let me get my shoes.
After walking and talking about how it was going, it was time to talk about the real thing i came here for.
So, Dan, Wouldn't it be amazing to see a whole new dimension?
That would be awesome!
Do you believe that it would be possible for us?
He looked at me, inspecting my face, to see if I was serious about it.

Well, I got this letter here, which seems out of this world...
I showed him the letter.
His eyes opened. He inspected the letter, and he immediately was very interested about it.
Hey, what is this all about? Group leader? Union of Protection?
Well, to be honest, I don't know it myself, but lately, I got these real-looking dreams about a castle... maybe it has a connection between the letter and my dreams.
He looked into my eyes. and I immediately know what he wanted, so I asked it.
Dan, Do you want to join me?
I gave him the pencil.
Of course!
He wrote his name on it.
Suddenly, the same weird, blue light radiated, but now you could see that it came from the circle in the right upper corner.
His name started to shine in blue.
Dan Doume.
I checked if he was all-right.
His face was totally shocked, and he had the same brown leather belt around his thighs.

This... This is just amazing!
He was totally happy. And I was happy too.
Well, We need two more men. So get on your bike and follow me!
We got onto our bikes, and started going to the next person.
we put our bikes infront of his house, and pressed the door bell.

We went into his room, and started talking about games and such.
after a while, I started the conversation with a question.
Hey, Mataru, umm... Do you believe in something outside of this world? like another dimension?
Hmm... I think that is possible. But for us humans, it would take a while untill we reach that point. we actually might never be able to go to other dimensions.
What if I told you... that it is actually possible?
I wouldn't believe it.
As expected. I already thought Mataru would be the hardest to concinve.
Well... I got this letter about going to another dimension and such. Here, read it.
I gave him the letter.
After he was done reading, he asked:
What is this blue circle here?
I don't know, but it I do know it isn't from this world. It did look weird right?
I don't trust this. it looks fake.
Dan jumped up.
But you get this brown belt from it! Trust me, I know this is weird, but once you write your name on it, you will understand.
Ah, what the hell, writing my name on it won't hurt right?
He took my pencil and wrote his name on it.
The blue light radiated again. and his name was imprinted. still shining with the blue light.
Mataru Mairou.
He was totally in shock. After that, you could see his smile appearing.
This is just what I was hoping for.
Well, let's go to the last person then. Let's go!
We all stop infront of his home, and press the door bell.
Olli comes out.
Hey guys! What are you all doing here?
Olli, We are inviting you to join us. In an epic adventure to another dimension. Will you join us?

I gave him the letter and the pencil.
He thought for a moment, read it, and then wrote his name.

We were all happy, and decided to stay at Mataru's house.
We talked alot about this at his house, and what we could expect.
Well, what I do know for sure is that we need to be asleep for it to happen.
Everybody agreed with me.
So we played some games, said good-bye to our parents, and went asleep.

Chapter 3 -
Hmm... This bed is really soft. It's like hugging an angel.
Wait a moment... this is too soft... where am I?
I open my eyes, and start looking around me.
I'm in a beautiful room. the floor is made of red carpet. the walls have a beatiful floral white colour.
There are some beds around the room. I see if there is anyone awake.
No one is awake yet, but soon they will.
Left to me, there is a row of beds. I see Dan sleeping a bed left to me.
Infront of my bed, there are another row of beds, going from right to left.
So I am at the far lower right side of the beds.
Ugh~
Who was that?
I look around, seeing what the cause of this voice is.
At the upper left corner, there is a person streching out...
Oh lord, it's a girl. she has curly blonde hair, has light hazel eyes and is beautiful.
I notice she doesn't wear anything on her top. Only a bra...

She yells so loud, everyone started to wake up.
The girl across me rubs her eyes and stands up.

The man is in his twenties, has short black hair, has a mask over his right eye and has a red leather belt.
Wait, which is group four? asked Olli.

We all stood up, and started to clothe ourselves.
It's hard dressing up when four girls are watching you... I'm ashamed.
The school clothing is pretty simple. A white dress shirt, brown trousers and black shoes.
On the shirt is the school emblem on it. It's a blue circle with golden decorations. on it, it said UNA.
UNA? I'm interested for what it means.
When I'm done, I check if everyone is finished.
Everyone ready?
Yeah said Mataru.
So I opened the door, and the man who called us was leaning on the wall, next to the door infront of us.
The door had a number above it. it's number 45-E.
I turned around, and our doors number has 46-E.
What does this all mean?
Seems you guys are done. Follow me.
We went to the left. At the end of the hall, there were more doors, but the numbers went down, to 1-E.
At the end of the hall, there was a door, leading to a small room.
We all went into the room.
First-year introduction! yelled the guy.
the room went up, and left, and right, and down... in random directions.
At the end, the door opened.
We were now in a room, full of people, all talking to each other. It was sort of an university classroom.
All of the people had brown leather belts on.
Go and sit somewhere. I'm leaving. He went back into the small room.
We all looked at each other.
We should sit somewhere. said Mataru.
Follow me.
I went to the right rows, in the middle, and sat down.
Where the hell are we? said Dan.
I think it will be all explained right now. The man yelled first-year introduction. I explained.
We all agreed, and waited till someone comes at the stage infront of us.
After a while, a woman came on stage. I estimate that she is in her 40s. She has a green leather belt.
Hello and welcome to the University of Northern Aetheria. I am Arakumi, Headmaster of the first years. As you may have guessed, you are all chosen to join the Union of Protection. As you are all here, you are now in the higher forces of the army.
We all look at each other. University? Army? What does it all mean?
This will probably confuse alot of people. simply, you are being teached the way to survive and fight in the army. With that, you are teached the basics of school you need. You are in school for five years, but you can be summoned to go to war earlier. This dimension that you have all joined, is alot more different than your dimension. I won't go into details, your Squad Leader will explain more.
I am very pleased about this. Another dimension, which is different than Earth. A new adventure.
Today is Monday. Next week, the lessons will start. your group will get a roster to see which lessons you have on which time. Your squad leader may call your group for further instructions this week. Now, you cannot go to everywhere in the university. A letter will come today, so you can see to which places and such you can go. This is the end of my explanation. Go into the same small room you came from. one person must yell Sleeping quarters E! for the teleporter room to work. No one may speak in the teleporter room. If you have any questions, you can stay here.
People started standing up and leaving.
I stood up.

Yeah. I want to go outside and see what's up. said Mataru.
So we headed towards the Teleporter room. There were alot of people in it. When the room was full, the doors closed. Someone yelled Sleeping quarters E! and the teleporter room went it's way towards it.
When we came at the sleeping quarters, we walked to our room, 46-E.
I opened the door, and no one is inside.
I looked around to see if the letter is in our room.
It was on my bed.
I open the letter, and read it loud out.

I looked at the clock above our door. It's around 17:30
Well, where shall we go?
Mataru stood up.
I want to go outside and see how it looks like.
Everyone agreed and we went towards the teleporter room. the letter was still in my hands.
We entered the teleporter room. It was very quiet.
I looked at my group, and everyone nodded at me.
North gate!
Suddenly the teleporter room moved. when it stopped, the door opened and we left the teleporter room. We now where on the top of a stairway. at the bottom of the stairway, there's a big room with windows and a big gate. Left and right of the stairway, there was a door.
We walked down the stairs, and went through the big door infront of the staiway.
It was a gigantic place. There was a main road. At the end of the road, there was a gigantic wall with a gate. You could take side roades off the main road. There were gathering points, benches, open fields, houses, shops... alot of things.
I looked op the sky, and there was a sun, and a small brown planet.
hmm... a small brown planet?
Everyone looked up.

We looked around, and it was the girls from our sleeping chamber that was calling us. They all have the school uniform on, but have a skirt. All girls have a skirt.
We went to them. When we arrived, it was a bit quiet. I came to my senses and tried to start the conversation.

The black haired girl took a step.
I'm sorry for what happened in the morning. It was a bad start for us.

I think this is amazing. We are thought how to fight and survive with swords and fists, and are in a squad with four groups! that means that there are a total of 16 people in our squad.

Their group leader is pretty cold and harsh, but I think she can be nice. Izumi-san looks open and a very friendly girl. Nekomo-san is pretty childish and weird, but she can be funny. Naoko-san is too shy, I think we don't know much of her. The best part is, they are all hot. Like, very hot.

After a while talking, and it was starting to be dark, we chose to go back to our rooms.
I opened our rooms door.
There was a table in the middle of our room. Around it, were eight chairs. It looks like there are two sides, each having four chairs.
On one side there was Rin and Izumi sitting. Looks like the other two are sleeping. Izumi and Rin both had their pyjama's on.
Rin stood up.
What were you guys doing so late? whatever, I just need to tell you that our squad leader is going to gather the squad and meet up at the south grassland. So go and sleep.
Dan asked her a question.

Ugh, I want to sleep. I'm so tired.

I sit up in my bed. Everyone is also sitting up in their beds.
Everyone dress up. I'll wait outside.
We all stood up and started wearing our school uniform. When I was done, I started looking around, to see if everyone else was done.
The girls were still in their bra and panties...

I see that my group is ready. We head outside to our squad leader.

When the teleporter was done moving around, it opened and infront of us was a big open grassland. In the distance, you could see some wooden poles and some practise dummies.
Near us were eight other people. the other two groups.
We will start in ten minutes. go and do something meanwhile.
Masaru walked away. I was interested who these other eight people are. I told my team to follow me.
Guys, let's meet the other groups.
We walked towards them. There were two groups of four people. they weren't close to each other. I see two somewhat fat boys, a long thin boy and another boy with a normal length.
Wait... Isn't that...
I see Omuro, Atashe, Kuaten and Yaori... All of them! They are all in a group! all my friends are in this world!

We ran towards them. Omuro noticed us.

When we were near them, I stopped and asked a question.

Omuro smirked.
I am the group leader of this group. We are group two. I noticed probably the same thing you did, And I knew you would ask Mataru, Dan and Olli, So I took Atase, Kuaten and Yaori. So you are the group leader, Davudo?
Yeah, I am the group leader of group four. I really didn't expect you guys to be a group. This is going to be fun.
Omuro is short, a bit fat and has short brown hair. Atashe is longer than Omuro, is also a bit fat and has long brown hair. They are cousins. Kuaten is long and middle long blonde hair. Yaori has a middle length and has short brown hair, with spikes in the front.
I looked at the other group. They looked very elite. They looked at us from far away. there was a girl with short brown hair, a big long boy with alot of muscles and short black hair, a middle length boy with long spiky bright-yellow hair, and a long boy with long brown hair.
I asked Omuro who they are.
Hey Omuro, who are those guys?
They are group one. They never talk to us and are very mysterious and very elite. I suggest to watch out for them.
Shortly after a bit talking, Masaru came to us with a bag.
Everyone gather up!
Everyone came to Masaru, including group one.
So, as you guys know, I am the group leader, and I need to teach some of you new things you don't know. So, to start, I want to know your element.
Olli raised his hand.
Masaru-san, what do you mean with 'Element'?
Oh, ofcourse the brown belts don't know anything about this. Well, Long story short, Everyone has one of the four elements. Fire, Earth, Water and Thunder. I am going to give you an enchanted wooden sword. When you hold it and focus the energy inside you, the wooden sword will show the element. So everyone come to me and take a sword.
The guy with long yellow spiked hair got a bit irritated.
Do we really need to do this? I already know how to do this and it doesn't teach me anything.
Well the others do, so come and get a sword.
Masaru opened the bag and in it were alot of wooden swords. Everyone walked up to him and took one.
Well, let's start with group one, from group leader to fourth member of the group.
The masculine boy closed his eyes, and from the sword, small rocks and sand fell from it.
I was shocked. How does that work? Energy inside you? I don't understand. I looked at my group. Everyone was shocked.
The long boy with long brown hair was next. He closed his eyes and a big fire surrounded his wooden sword.
Yet again, I was suprised. Doesn't that wooden sword burn up?
After a few seconds, the fire dissapeared and the wooden sword didn't have any burned spots.
Next was the girl. She closed her eyes and a big stream of water came from her wooden sword.
and last was the boy with the yellow spiked hairstyle. He closed his eyes and big sparks of lightining emitted from his sword. after charging, he threw the lightning in the air, to release the tension.
I questioned myself... What element do I have?
Well, looks like you guys have some experience with your energy and the connection between the weapon and your body. Ok, group two. begin with the first one.
Omuro closed his eyes, and focused. After a minute, a little bit of sand came from the tip of his sword. He had a smile on his face
Wow! that was cool!
Next was Atashe. He also focused, and after a minute, a little bit of sand came also from his sword. he was very happy.
Amazing!
Next was Kuaten. He closed his eyes, and holded the grip tight, and after a while, a drip of water came from the tip of his sword.
and at last, Yaori closed his eyes. after two minutes, a little bit of fire came from his sword. some smoke came afterwards from the tip.
Cool!
As I expected. the cousins have the same element. Group three next.
Rin holded the grip tight, and closed her eyes. Shortly after, her sword bursted with a gigantic fire, much more than the guy from group one.
Everyone was shocked. even the squad leader looked suprised.
That was... Unexpected.
Rin smirked.
Izumi was next. she closed her eyes, and water came from her sword.
Naoko closed her eyes. Small rocks and sand came from her sword.
Nemoko was last. She closed her eyes, and small sparks emitted from her sword.
Looks like your group had some training. Next is group four.
Everyone was looking at me...
I started to focus, hold the grip tight and closed my eyes.
Hmm... I need to gather energy...
I made my mind clear, flexing my muscles. I feel something in my chest... like the sword gave me some sort of energy...
I forced the energy outside to the sword. I hear fire infront of me.
I open my eyes and see that my sword is on fire...
I threw my sword on the ground.
What the hell?
The fire was gone in about four seconds. the wooden sword was covered in ash.
Looks like you have alot of energy for your first time. You still have zero control though.
when Masaru said that, I got happy. Looks like I am not the usual person.
Dan was next. He Focused, and closed his eyes. He tried very hard, flexing his muscles very hard. You could see his whole face flexing with it. After a minute of flexing, he got a little stream of sand out.
He was very happy about it.
Yes! Yes! I'm got the element Earth!
