Psycho-Loli (サイコ-ロリ) is a Baka-Tsuki term for a female character that display sudden signs of violence and mental instability. It is a character archetype in many Japanese anime, games and manga. The term is exclusive only for women (who are usually under the age of consent), while the term ‘Psycho-shota’ may be applied, in rare cases, to male characters who display similar traits. Like nekomimi and tsunderekko, Psycho-Lolis are considered to be moe-inspiring characters.
The term ‘Psycho-Loli’ is not to be mixed up with the term Yandere, which has a similar meaning. While ‘Psycho-Loli’ applies to any female character that displays signs of mental instability, ‘Yandere’ only applies to characters who appear kind and loving on the outside but is actually brutal and psychotic on the inside. As such, ‘Psycho-Loli’ could be considered to be a more general term.

Ryuugu “Rena” Reina
Anime series: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Often seen wielding a large cleaver, Ryuugu “Rena” Reina is one of the most famous examples of a ‘Psycho-Loli’. While she appears to be generally nice and friendly on the outside, all it takes is a mention of a Shrine God named ‘Oyashiro-sama’ for her to start displaying signs of psychoticness. She is a fervent believer of Oyashiro-sama and his so-called curse, one which affects any villager who dares leave their village of Hinamizawa.
She also appears to have an insatiable liking for things cute and sweet, including (but not limited to) stuffed bears, dolls, broken rice cookers, old tires and broken figures of the Colonel.

Dokuro-chan
Anime Series: Bokusatsu Tenshi: Dokuro-chan
Dokuro-chan is an angel from the future who has come to the present to protect a certain boy named Sakura. She brandishes the large spiked club named Excalibolg, which she uses to protect Sakura from harm. The club also doubles as an excellent tool for punishment, and more often than not it is used to bash Sakura to death. In addition, it allows Dokuro-chan to transmogrify annoying people (such as the class representative) into various animals (like monkeys or dogs).
Memorable Psychotic Scenes:
- Killing Sakura during the first 5 minutes of any given episode
- Having explosive diarrhea as her halo is removed
- Turning the class rep into a monkey

Suigintou A.K.A Gin-sama
Anime series: Rozen Maiden
The first doll of the Rozen Maiden collection. Her desire to win the Alice Game is the strongest of all the dolls, and is primarily driven by her wish to gain the attention of "Father". Sadistic, spiteful, and arrogant (all as a result of her spectacular inferiority complex), Suigintou has no inhibitions in the Alice Game. She will use any method possible, regardless of how brutal, to win.
In the Anime Suigintou is missing her stomach section and a Rosa Mystica but through sheer desire to meet her father she is still able to move. Later she is granted a Rosa Mystica but was still missing a middle section which leads to Shinku believing that Suigintou still wasn't a Rozen Maiden. This sparked the intense hatred that Suigintou has fro Shinku which will be played on the rest of the series. In the manga she is complete but utterly miserable without her father. She derives a sadistic pleasure from causing pain and suffering to her sisters.
She is a cold, spiteful doll to everyone but her medium Megu, a hospitalized girl who suffers a terminal heart disease. Megu wants Suigintou to drain her of everything leaving her dead but Suigintou refuses saying she does not need a medium.

Morino Yoru
Novel Series: GOTH
NOTE: Do not update this section with descriptions regarding details that haven't been translated in the wiki in order to minimize spoilers.
Morino Yoru is a high school student obsessed with death. She has shown deep interests in torture devices and execution methods, and is seen frequently discussing these matters with the narrator of the novel.
Morino dresses in nothing but black. When asked for her reason for enrolling in her school, her reply was that it was 'the only school that had a black uniform'. She has jet black hair that extends till her waist. On the other hand, her skin is deathly white, juxtaposing with her black outfits.
She has also been the target of several criminals, none of which she was actually aware of.

- Dressing up as the murdered Nanami Miguchi.

Flandre Scarlet
Game Series: Touhou Project: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
The younger sister of Remilia Scarlet (who is also the last boss of the game), Flandre Scarlet serves as the game's secret boss, one that can only be unlocked by beating the game in Normal mode or higher without using any continues.
Like her sister, Flandre is also a vampire. However, she is almost always locked in the cellar due to her insanity. Although she is somewhat docile in nature, her psychoticness makes it hard for others to comprehend her.
When vampires attack humans, they usually try not to kill their prey in order to feast on their blood later. However, since Flandre has always been fed with cooked dishes, she has no idea how to attack humans, which often results in her releasing all her power and blasting her prey to bits, without leaving a single drop of blood.
Flandre could also be considered an example of Yandere.

Gasai Yuno

Cute, smart, honor student and stalker. She is the second person who's being granted a Future Diary and is also the protagonist's classmate.
Unlike the other Diarys, Yuno's Diary does not tell her own feature but gives her a update of the protagonist's future every 10mins instead. She is some what fearless and will do anything for the sake of the protagonist. Also skilled in using bladed weapons for some reason.....
