Hi, I'm Rydenius
Hello readers, for the moment I'm using this page to learn how to do wiki editing, so don't have too high an expectation.
About me
I'm an American living on the east coast of the United States. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and study Japanese in my free time.
My Translation Skills and Tools
I guess I'm a newbie translator at this point. I have completed 3 semesters of college Japanese using the Yookoso and Genki (I+II) textbooks, and am moving on to An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese (Akira Miura & Naomi Hananoka McGloin).
I have also worked my way through:
Fundamentals of Japanese Grammar (Yuki Johnson)
Read Japanese Today (Len Walsh)
Reference texts that I am currently using:
Essential Japanese Grammar (Masahiro Tanimori, Eriko Sato)
A Dictionary of Japanese Particles (Sue A. Kawashima)
Common Japanese Collocations (Kakuko Shoji)
Web resources that I am currently using:
Denshi Jisho (Dictionary -- I'm using the public beta version of the new website)
ALC (Dictionary w/ lots of example sentences and does well with phrases.)
Weblio (Dictionary -- connects to several databases)
Memrise (SRS drilling for vocabulary)
While I have a reasonable grasp of individual Kanji up through 4th grade, lately I've changed my approach to focusing more on learning actual vocabulary words. I've since learned all the traditional radicals and add new Kanji as needed while learning new vocabulary.
Series that I have an interest in working on
Currently I'm only interested in working on:
マリア様が見てる (Maria-sama ga miteru)
